***** Ruby’s Chen’s, 913 West State Road 84, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33315, (954) 525-2533.

Ruby Chen’s is a Chinese takeout joint…it has the obligatory Chinese takeout joint “handful” of tables, but the game here is TAKEOUT.

You can check menu/prices at www.rubychens.com.

Based on a recent “outing” of wonton soup, bbq ribs, fried dumplings, egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken, shrimp with lobster sauce, beef with black bean sauce, roast pork fried rice…I can safely report that Ruby’s food isn’t half bad. Nothing to go nuts over, but if you live or work in the neighborhood, you could do far worse.

Ruby Chen’s is open Monday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-11pm, Sunday noon-10pm.

    Jeff,

Just heard that III Forks in Boca closed and that an upscale Chinese restaurant is taking the location. Do you have any info on this new restaurant?

Jeff, Didn’t know where to put this, so if I put it in the wrong place, sorry!!!
I recently saw two acts that you got to checkout.
    ROLL THE STONES http://www.rollthestones.com.
This is one of the best Rolling Stones’ tribute bands that I have ever seen.

Rick St. James a Tribute To Rod Stewart. Saw him at BB Kings in WPB. Incredible performer.

YES YES YES best Chinese in Ft. Lauderdale.
We just came back. It is tiny so I would order take out or order and go pick up if you are too far away. You can ask for it to be spicy (which I would do on the ones not marked spicy) but the taste was spot on otherwise (we do like spicy). We had General Tso Shrimp– Perfect, Hunam Shrimp (ask for spicy) Shrimp Chop Suey (ask for spicy) Shrimp w Lobster sce (ask for spicy) The servings are huge but they do have a small portion collumn so you can taste lots of things Only 1 drawback–no brown rice. We will order again and again. The menu is huge
