***** Shinju Japanese Buffet, 7875 Glades Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33434, (561) 488-4040.

Shinju Japanese Buffet…small-chain currently with outposts in Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Davie, Pembroke Pines and Miami. Check www.sushishinju.com for menu/locations.

Recently tried its newest location– which opened about 1-month ago in Boca Raton. Terrific assortment of Chinese/Japanese soups, hot/cold dishes, sushi-sashimi, desserts…habatchi and stir fry stations.

Now-I know that this “is” a Japanese buffet—but, I gotta tell you, that the wonton soup was absolutely delicious and the bbq ribs were some of the best that I’ve had in a very long time. I’ll even go as far and say, that these 2 items alone, make the price of admission (figure 20 bucks a head for dinner) worth the price. Just so you don’t think I’m a shill for this joint, the sesame chicken was just passable, same goes for the teriyaki chicken.

All in all… Definitely one of the better Japanese/Chinese buffets that old Jeff Eats has tried.

Shinju is open Monday-Sunday for lunch 11:30am-3:30pm, Sunday-Thursday for dinner 5pm-10pm, Friday-Saturday 5pm-10:30pm.

    a bit pricey at 20 a head.

Ernie, You have to take in to consideration though that it is an “all you can eat”, you can pick all the items that you LIKE and avoid the ones you don’t, and If you think about it you get soup, salad, dessert, habatchi, sushi sashimi and more all in that one $. So if you really consider that and compare the price to your usual sit down sushi place you are getting a really good deal. My husband I have been going to Shinju for over 3 years (Coral springs location) and they are WONDERFUL it was worth the Drive from Boca. We are so excited that they have opened a location in Boca Raton now. Their fish is always fresh and we have NEVER left disappointed. Great establishment we highly recommend to all the sushi lovers out there, Out of all the places we have tried…From the $ to $$$, Shinju is our favorite place 🙂 ENJOY!!!

Jeff, I love your style. I have eaten in a couple Shinjus and have always enjoyed the food. If we had to do a split. 95% Japanese and 5% Chinese. But, you make it your business to highlight the Chinese part in your review. What makes you cool is the slightly off center no punches pulled style you have.
Keep up the great work as I am sure there are tons and tons of people who love your vibe.

Went here on Mothers day. Prices were the same. They gave the women a rose. They are very nice people working there. They did not charge for my nephew (he is 7). Excellent variety of food and plenty to choose from on Sushi, japanese items. The cold shrimp were pretty good and they had raw oysters also. They also had some cooked sushi items. A good place and I will be back. I never knew about this place.

This place is the best place there is when it comes to a sushi buffet hands down! They have sushimi, tempura, all different kinds of rolls, all the different sauces too. They have a lo mein noodle place where you get cooked beef chicken, whatever you want. And then all the fruit, deserts and Chinese food type selections make it the best hands down!

Tried the new one in Pembroke Pines. And yes it is one of the best Japanese / Chinese buffet restaurants around South Florida. Food is fresh, varied and tasty, service is great. The location is clean attractive. Looking forward to going back with the family.

I would like to take a moment to say how wonderful the restaurant SHINJU of Boca Raton, is. I have been there several times and the food is fresh and delicious. Even though this is a buffet style restaurant, the service from these waitresses is outstanding. They always have a smile on their faces.
Their prices are VERY fair for this 5 star establishment and I look forward to my next trip there.
GREAT food, GREAT prices and GREAT service from Sayuri, Angela, Yuna, Mimi and Angel. (and AA 🙂 )

Ate at Shinju for the first time last night. It was the freshest, best tasting sushi I have ever eaten. And the Chinese food was excellent as well. Only complaint is that, at these prices, the drink (soda, tea, etc) ought to be included with the meal. But, even with that said, the experience was well worth the price. And I am lucky enough to live equal distance from the Davie and Coral Springs locations.

    Good price.

After seeing people drop serving spoons into the food then retrieve them from on top with their bare hands as well as sneezing on the food I have sworn off all buffets no matter how good the food.

    Dear Fellow Eater:

This restaurant is a poor buffet. If you are a party of five you are placed at a booth for four. Plates are just left on the table by servers so there is no room to eat and this is dirty. The food is just OK with no distinction. I cannot recommend this restaurant to parties less than eight and if food quality is not important.
