Got an absolutely off the chart-terrific “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joint for you guys to checkout, Nonno’s Cucina e Pizzeria in Boca Raton.

Real simple story…Hole in the wall that serves absolutely dynamite food. Last week- Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats “discovered” Nonno’s Cucina e Pizzeria for dinner and I’m telling you- the joint’s stuff- killed! If you’re a fancy schmancy kinda person, best guess- Nonno’s Cucina e Pizzeria- isn’t gonna work for you! If on the other hand, you’re into no frills “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joints- that serve reasonably priced outrageously delicious food, you now know where to go!

Let me wrap-up Nonno’s Cucina e Pizzeria by telling you guys- that it’s open Monday-Saturday 11am-10pm/closed Monday, menu/prices/info at eatatnonnos.com and that it’s an absolute must try!

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Slicers Hoagies something like a week-ago and I gotta tell you that the joint’s reasonably priced stuff was absolutely delicious. Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, in my day- I’ve eaten in my fair share share of sub joints (I mean hoagie joints) and trust me, Slicers Hoagies’ food is right-up there with the best I’ve had in Florida, not to mention, New York, New Jersey Connecticut, etc.

Shirley Alston Reeves, formerly of the Shirelles, co-founded the group and sang lead vocals for them. Their very first single release “I Met Him on A Sunday”, which was also written by the Shirelles collectively, was an instant success!

The Shirelles soon became known throughout the world when they placed six singles in the Top Ten. “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”, (written by Carole King), was featured in the colossal hit movie “Dirty Dancing” with Shirley on lead vocal. Got a good bagel joint for you guys…Broadway Bagels in Plantation which has been around for something like 33 years.

Jeff Eats and a couple of buddies recently ate breakfast there- and I gotta tell you that Broadway Bagels’ deli omelette ($7.99-corned beef/pastrami/Swiss cheese), blueberry pancakes ($6.99) and corned beef hash ($7.99) were all-right on the money! Throw in REAL GOOD sesame, everything and onion bagels- and Jeff Eats would definitely do a second-visit! Just so we are straight with each other, Broadway Bagels isn’t curing cancer or nothing here- the food is good-with its bagels (made the right way- hand rolled/boiled/baked) being the real “keeper” of this tale!-so if you go- don’t forget THE BAGELS!
