***** Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, 8170 Glades Road K-2, Boca Raton, Florida 33434, (561)465-3274.

Got a real good Italian Ice/Soft Serve Ice Cream/Gelati joint for you guys to checkout, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice in Boca Raton.

Real simple tale to tell, Jeremiah’s is a fast growing Italian Ice franchise (since 2019) which currently has stores spread-out over Florida. Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas. Three weeks ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff “discovered” Jeremiah’s Boca Raton joint and have been back 5 times since that initial outing. Order/pickup at inside counter/outside walk-up windows, handful of inside/outside tables, reasonably priced- 40 rotating and seasonal Italian Ice flavors/ vanilla-chocolate soft serve/ loads of toppings menu.

Now, just between you and me, I kinda think that I know my Italian Ices and Soft Serve Ice Cream and I’m telling you guys that Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is turning out absolutely delicious stuff!

Like I said a few seconds ago, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been to Jeremiah’s 6 times (between 7:30-9:30pm) and each and every time- there were lines both inside and outside with people waiting to order. In addition, every table inside/ outside was taken. Of interest, all ages were there.

Not sure as to how it all plays out franchise wise, but for right now, the Jeremiah’s (which opened in Boca Raton on June 28th, 2021)) looks like a home-run business!

Checkout jeremiahsice.com for locations/menu/prices/info.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is open, Sunday-Thursday noon-10pm, Friday-Saturday noon-11pm.

***** Sicilian Oven, 21170 Saint Andrews Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida 33433, (561) 750-9772.

Here’s another one of those “out of sight out of mind” joints for you… wood fired pizza-Sicilian Oven.

Printed down below is a- Jeff Eats’ review from March 14, 2009. When you read that write-up, you’ll notice that the joint being “discussed” was the first- Sicilian Oven that had “just” opened in Lighthouse Point…since that review appeared, Sicilian Oven has also- opened joints in Aventura, Coral Springs and most recently Boca Raton.

Long story short, last night Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and two other couples ate dinner at the Boca Raton restaurant. Stuff ordered- Sicilian salad (large $11), wood oven roasted chicken wings (large $17), large- Nona’s Square Pizza ($22-thick crust/ mozzarella/ pomodoro sauce), large- The Bianco Pizza ($17-parmesan/ romano/ ricotta/ mozzarella- and I gotta tell you, everything was A-OK! Now you know and I know that “pecking orders and nitpicking” aren’t really my game-but I must tell you that the Sicilian salad (romaine lettuce/ roasted peppers/ walnuts/ olives/ vine ripen tomatoes/ red onions/garbanzo beans/celery/shaved parmesan cheese/creamy house dressing) was one of the most delicious salads that I’ve had in a very long time…while I’m doing this, I liked The Bianco Pizza better than the Nona’s Square Pizza and the chicken wings were good but could have used more seasoning/and the bread that came with them-I’ve had much better. Not that it really matters, because I’m Jeff Eats and they’re-not- but the other 5 in my party all agreed on the salad, the pizza “rank” and the little tweaks needed by the chicken and bread!

As you can well imagine (then again, maybe you can’t) Jeff Eats- eats-out/takes-out quite a bit…every so often a joint just falls through the cracks. Let’s just say that Sicilian Oven was one of those casualties-and trust me, my loss! Its food is very good and “all in” the bill was a super reasonable 80 bucks.

You can check menu/prices/locations/info at sicilianoven.com.

***** Sicilian Oven, 2486 North Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point, Florida 33064.

Got an absolutely terrific “wood fired Italian” joint for you…Sicilian Oven, located in Lighthouse Point.

Gave this joint a shot last night and got-to tell you, that the food is dynamite. The menu is packed with appetizers, salads, pastas, ciabattas, wings and pizzas. My “taste test” (somebody has to do it)… sicilian salad ( a combination of mixed greens, roasted peppers, roman tomatoes, red onions, garbanzo beans & something like 5 other ingredients), wood oven roasted chicken wings, wood fired pizza, “no pasta” lasagna (eggplant & vegetables), meatballs and fried calamari…everything was delicious.

Sicilian Oven is owned by two guys, Andrew and Ralph. From what I can tell, Andrew “handles” the action in the open-kitchen and Ralph “handles” the dining area. Although the joint was packed, these boys were efficiently cranking-out some heavy duty orders. Sicilian Oven is a real modern looking joint, with just enough flat-screen tv sets to make it interesting for sports-afficianados. The prices are neighborhood “pizza joint” prices. Service is excellent & your tee shirt/shorts’ ensemble will work here.

Just so you know, although Sicilian Oven has only been open for something like 4-months, it already has a loyal-following… Giving credit where credit is do, Sun Sentinel food critic Judith Stocks gave the joint **** (four stars: excellent) on March 13, 2009…so, old Jeff Eats can’t claim to be the “discoverer” of this one…as a matter of fact, it was Stocks’ review that alerted me to this joint.

Give Sicilian Oven a try, it really is that good. For menu/prices, check its website www.thesicilianoven.com.

Sicilian Oven is open Monday-Saturday 11:30am-10pm and Sunday 4pm-10pm.

Real simple tale, this joint makes a real delicious chicken pot pie. Kinda hard pressed to recall a South Florida-British pub that makes a better one. By the way, while we are on the subject of “chicken”- the joint’s wings kill!

If your into British pubs, the Ye Olde Falcon Pub will definitely work for you!

***** Ye Olde Falcon Pub, 2867 South University Drive, Davie, Florida 33328, (954) 424-0300.

Got a good British Pub for you guys…Ye Olde Falcon Pub in Davie.

First things first, the joint looks exactly as you expect it to…dark wood, big bar, more dark wood, tvs, handful of arcade games, darts, booth and table seating…this one also has outdoor patio seating.

Ye Olde’s menu- a combination of British and American stuff…plenty of appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches, wings, entrees, desserts- trust me, everyone in your party will find what to eat! The joint also has beers up the whazoo- 48 on tap and 14 bottles…so if you like beer, you’re set!

Since this is after-all a British Pub…

A recent dinner had Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats and another couple “trying”- fish & chips, bangers & mash, shepard’s pie, chicken pot pie and I gotta tell you everything was A-OK! If I had to do a pecking order, which I don’t have to, but I will- Jeff Eats loved the fish & chips ($12.99) and chicken pot pie ($9.95), the bangers & mash ($11.79) and shepard’s pie ($10.99) were decent enough, but personally-I wouldn’t be jumping at a second chance to order them again!

On the American side of the ledger, the philly steak & cheese sub ($10.99) and popcorn chicken ($9.79) that we threw into the meal-mix were right on the money! Just between you and Jeff Eats, the sub (Ye Olde calls it a hoagie-whatever!) absolutely killed- and if you “go” is a must-order.

Jeff Eats really enjoyed-Ye Olde Falcon Pub. Good food, terrific beer selection, very pleasant service, reasonable prices, plenty of dark wood!

You guys can check menu/prices/info at yeoldefalconpub.com.

Ye Olde Falcon Pub is open Sunday noon-4am, Monday-Saturday 11am-4am.

If you like Andrea Bocelli – you will LOVE Franco Corso! With a voice that melts hearts and instills passion, Franco Corso is the most captivating recording artist on the international scene since Andrea Bocelli!

Franco reinvents the music of Italian & American crooners, transforming past masterpieces into modern treasures. After sellout audiences at Caesar’s Atlantic City, Mar-a-Lago, the Columbus Foundation, and countless stages across the US and Europe, his concert will take the audience on a musical journey from Bocelli to Phantom… where ITALY MEETS BROADWAY!

Franco Corso hypnotizes audiences with his sensual and powerful vocals, from Baritone to Tenor, dramatic stage presence, and charismatic showmanship. His musical talent has been labeled Powerful, Enchanting, and Sophisticated. While all these are true, they are a result of something that cuts deeper into the source. Corso’s music is passion personified, a raw emotion that comes through in his singing, which is palpable. Corso has built a music career channeling the charisma and passion of Italian-American singers, effectively transforming past masterpieces into modern treasures. His voice recalls the era when crooners ruled the music industry and avid listeners went weak in the knees at love songs laden with raw emotion.

Just announced…

Jefferson Starship

Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 (7pm)

Sport of Kings Theater at Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino
901 Federal Highway, Hallandale Beach, Florida 33009

Tickets Online: seasidemusicmgmt.com and gulfstreampark.com ($35.-$65).

All I can tell you guys- in one form or another, one of the greatest Rock N Roll bands of all time- and I do mean of all time!

About The Event:

The Sport of Kings Theater offers an intimate concert experience with six levels of seating for 850 guests. Located on the 2nd floor of the Gulfstream Park Clubhouse, Sport of Kings is the perfect venue to see the show up close and personal. View the show in style from the VIP section including cocktail tables, beverage and food service.

About The Band:

When founding member Paul Kantner formed Jefferson Starship in the ’70s, he envisioned the band as a cast of musical adventurers, contributing to his epic concept albums and eventual deep catalog of rock classics. When the current lineup of the band came together alongside Kantner as a unit in 2012, with many members joining years before, he couldn’t have imagined that the band would become the road-conquering heroes they’ve been in the last few years.

Jefferson Starship’s five members describe themselves as both a “family” and a “gang,” and that comes across in talking to them, and in their robust live performances, which have taken them to all 50 U.S. states., five continents, and too many countries to list here (a recent tour of New Zealand was mentioned among the band’s favorites), drawing from a massive setlist of hit after hit.

In addition to original member David Freiberg, the band includes drummer Donny Baldwin (whose Jefferson Starship roots go back to 1982), keyboardist Chris Smith (who joined in 1998), guitarist Jude Gold (who joined in 2012), and singer and guitarist Cathy Richardson who joined in 2008, after Kantner saw her tour with Big Brother and the Holding Company.

As Jefferson Starship approaches their 50th anniversary, the group’s members look to the future with the word Kantner, who unfortunately died in 2016, used to say to them all the time: “Onward.”

“To me that exploration—that Paul Kantner thing of just getting on a rocket ship and firing it as hard as it will go, and taking off and exploring the cosmos and the music, and everything in between—is really the spirit of Jefferson Starship, and that’s very much alive in the band today,” Gold says. “And that comes straight from Paul. And always has.”

From miznerparkculturalcenter.com:

The RRazz Room presents an unforgettable New Year’s Eve at Mizner Park Cultural Center starring Chris Ruggiero.

Chris Ruggiero and his trio will take you on a musical journey through the “Great American Pop Rock Songbook”, breathing new life into the timeless music of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Chris has been described as an “old soul” at 22 years old, whose approach to his concert appearances is more in line with that of a bygone era than it is the artists of his generation. Chris says, “I try to make every move and sing every song with a touch of class that reminds the audience of a time when entertainers put their heart and soul into their songs and delivering an exceptional concert was paramount.”

Since performing on PBS-TV’s nationally-televised “My Music” series, Chris has been traveling around the country delivering his unique brand of vintage rock and roll and sharing his passion for the classics. He’s shared the stage with artists such as Bobby Rydell, The Duprees, The Drifters, Clint Holmes, and many more. Expect to hear Chris’ signature songs like “Put Your Head On My Soldier”, “My Cherie Amour”, “California Dreaming”, “This Magic Moment”, and a few surprises for this special occasion!
