Doughboy (Boca Raton)

Posted on January 4th, 2018 · American Boca Raton Breakfast Desserts Fast Food

***** Doughboy, 126 Northeast 2nd Street, Boca Raton, Florida 33432, 617-1887.

Hole in the wall doughnut shop that opened in Boca Raton something like 2-months ago.

Interesting simple concept, menu of mini vanilla cake doughnuts topped with all kinds of stuff. Order/pickup at counter, handful of tables. The doughnuts are sold in lots of 3, 6, 16, 25.

The other day, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats picked-up some doughnuts at Doughboy and I gotta tell you guys- real good stuff! That said, I’m kinda thinking that the doughnuts were way too pricey (basically a buck a piece) and the menu (mini cake doughnuts) way too limited to make this joint a successful business. Now, I could be wrong- but the call here (unless the landlord is a partner in the business, or the landlord isn’t charging Doughboy rent,or the rent is ridiculously low for the area, or Doughboy’s owners are gluttons for punishment with deep pockets) is delicious doughnuts- but the business has a limited shelf-life!

Doughboy is open Tuesday-Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-8pm, Sunday 8am-3pm, closed Monday.

You can check-out menu/prices/info at godoughboy.com.

    Jeff,
The tenant before Doughboy was Rhino Doughnuts & Coffee and it didn’t last too long, it was a similar type business making gourmet donuts.

Like you I liked the donuts. Also like you I found the donuts which are just one bite items too expensive. I also think that just selling mini cake donuts is a way too limited business.

If you aren’t into cake donuts this joint has nothing for you.

    Location also sucks.

    Jeff,
I tried Doughboy and really enjoyed the donuts. You are 100% on the money that they (the donuts) are way too expensive, but what is,is. There is no question in my mind that this going to be a very tough haul for its owners. The location is too far away from Mizner Park for people to notice it, there are only cake donuts and the prices are too high. I wish them the best, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on this joint making it.

I go by this place all the time….I also went to the previous place Rhino Donuts- and I could not get any service- However Doughboy is great…so friendly and fast and the donuts are wonderful and creative-best customer service- great for a single treat or a party at work….well worth $1.00 each.
