Tried the Boca outpost out for dinner last week…on the decor front, think The Cheesecake Factory– Carrabbas–Maggiano’s and you’ll get the picture…big-good looking-semi upscale—but you know (well, at least I do) that it’s a cookie-cutter joint and that its clone is probably right down the road.
Now…just because your part of a chain, doesn’t necessarily mean that a joint’s food isn’t any good…to reach that conclusion–I really enjoy The Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano’s and Carrabbas.
Let’s talk food…”tried” fried calamari, meat lasagna, chicken milanese, penne alla vodka, strip steak, veal marsala. Take this for what it’s worth, this is CHAIN FOOD. Now, I don’t know what your favorite Italian joint is, but I’ll bet you a nickel that its food runs absolute circles around Brio’s stuff. I’ll even go one step further and say that your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th favorite Italian restaurants also run laps around Brio’s food.
Service is chain restaurant fine. On the price front, I’m not really an accountant, but the prices are definitely higher than the local mom & pop’s in the area…now, nothing terrible, but definitely a drop here and there.
Let me sum Brio up this way…there is absolutely no reason to eat there.
This was a very disappointing outing.
Now, if you don’t want to listen to old Jeff Eats…
Brio Tuscan Grille is open Sunday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-11pm.
Jeff, ate in boca location. you are right, its a chain nothing more. food wasn’t very good.
Brio looks like Maggiano’s. That’s the only thing they have in common. Brio’s food isnt good while Maggiano’s is delicious.
Good take on this one, Jeff.
have eaten in brio’s twice. once in boca and once in pembroke pines. good looking restaurants. like others here, the food is nothing special. jeff, you were kind on prices. i found them much more than my neighborhood places. i won’t be going back.
overpriced chain food. sort oif like villagio’s that also has a few florida locations.

I saw an ad for a restaurant in Delray Beach that serves home made gnocchi. I don’t have the article…can you help?
Many thanks!
I like the restaurant. Not the best, but better than the other Italian chains that Jeff mentioned. Worth the extra couple of dollars. Has the best shrimp-crab cakes anywhere.
Went on a Friday night–reservation honored, service was great and food was enjoyed by all 4 of us. It is a fun restaurant.
food is ok for a chain, but mot neighborhood places are better.
Very disappointed with Boca location. Food is strictly chain food. Not worth going.
boca loc is great looking, havent tried it yet
The boca loc is better than the phoenix one which is horrendous.
Ate there yesterday in Boca during Happy Hour. Packed with people. Veal parm and eggplant ok but not great.
Jeff they are always packed inside and outside in boca. I like the food.
Just passable food.
This is one step above Olive Garden. Real chain food. Don’t bother.
Ate there last Saturday night.
If you like chain Italian food its good.
There are tons of better places in the area for Italian food.
Strictly chain food. Don’t bother.
Ate in Boca. Food is chain food. Not very good.
