Anna’s Kitchen (Boca Raton)

Posted on October 10th, 2009 · Boca Raton Italian Pizza

***** Anna’s Kitchen, 19635 State Road 7, Boca Raton, Florida 33498 (561) 482-2323.

Anna’s Kitchen is a “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joint, which opened for business in Boca Raton something like 1 week ago. I just got back from eating dinner and I gotta tell you that Anna’s has a good shot of “making it” although it is located in a crappy-spot in a crappy strip center called Boca Greens Shopping Center. The reason I say this, is because– the food is good–and the fact that Anna, a middle aged Italian lady, personally visits every table making sure that everything is 100% Tonight’s “taste test” was simple… house salad, garlic rolls, pizza, eggplant parmigiana, meatballs and chicken scarpariello. Everything was just fine…I especially enjoyed the thin-crispy-sweet sauce-cheesey pizza, garlic rolls and the meatballs.

Now for sure…Anna’s which has the full compliment of expected appetizers, soups, subs, pizzas, pastas, meat-seafood-chicken entrees–has some mighty good local competition…Nino’s, Dominick’s, Augy’s (these 3 Boca players immdediately come to mind)–but, based on its 1-week outing, the joint has a real shot to develop a nice following of it own.

Just so you know, I got a couple of bones to pick with this joint. First, I found the portions on the chicken scarpariello and eggpalnt parmigiana to be a bit on the skimpy side. Next, if I have this Anna’s figured correctly, before opening, the menus of other joints were “reviewed” and Anna’s tried to price most of its entrees a buck or two cheaper…that said, Anna’s entrees come with garlic rolls and a pasta side…while the other players’ entrees come with garlic rolls, soup or salad and pasta side…so, if you do the math, if you order a house salad at Anna’s, you are roughly paying the same price as the other neighborhood joints are getting.

Anna if you are reading…make the portions BIGGER…and also include soup or salad with your entrees.

Anyway…you can check Anna’s website www.annakitchenboca.com for menu/prices.

The joint is open 11am-10pm 7 days a week.

Hadn’t read your blog before we went to Anna’s. We were there last night for an early dinner. My wife and I and another couple thought that food was good. We enjoyed the garlic knots, house salad, large pizza, veal parm main dish. The service was a bit lax but like you pointed out Anna’s has only been open about a week so we were forgiving. Our waitress forget to tell us about the specials. You are right on the prices in that they are similar to others in the area but like you we did notice that the lack of a soup or salad included with entrees. I’m not so sure about Anna’s lasting. It has some heavy duty competitors just down the road who do food perfectly. We’ll see how this plays.

    hey jeff,
gave this one a shot last night.
    simple pizza and meatballs appetizer.
pizza was good but could have been a bit thinner and wasn’t as crispy as we like it.
2 meatballs were okay but we didn’t think that they were anything special.
we are going to stick with our Nino’s which is our favorite. much better food.

Went for lunch on Saturday. There were no other customers in the place. There were 4 employees gathered around the cash register trying to figure something out. We sat at the bar, just a few feet away. No one acknowledged us, not even eye contact. After over 5 minutes of this, we got up and walked out. This is not the way to try to start a new business with all the local competition and current economy.

Dinner this past weekend. Pretty good food but the service needs to be improved. Prices are okay but no better than other local places. Anna’s is not quite ready for primetime.

Went for dinner last night food was pretty good!
They really did a great job on the decor. I don’t know about the other blogs bur our service was excellent. People need to remember this is a brand new restaurant that needs to work out the quirks. Definatly give this place a try!!!

We dined at Anna’s Kitchen on Friday night. The
place was packed but we were able to get a table. The Food was fabulous and the service was
outstanding and very professional. Anna came to our table to make sure everything was okay. You have to give Anna’s a try. You won’t be dissappointed.

Me and my family had a fabulous dinner at Anna’s Kitchen in Boca Raton on Sunday. We started with the Fried Calamari which was tender and crispy and the pizza which was the best we had in a long time. We chose the Anna’s Sunday Sauce for our dinners which included Homemade Meatball, Sausage and Pork over Pasta. It was just like my grandmother used to make. Anna’s is a winner and we will be back soon.

Dinner last night at Nino’s in Boca Raton. This is one of the best local joints going. Outstanding pizza. People at 7:30 standing in line to get.
Also tried Anna’s last Wed. Its fair. That’s being kind.

This is about Anna’s Kitchen in Boca Raton not Nino’s. If you like to eat in dirty restaurants then go ahead and keep eating at Nino’s. I recently ate at Anna’s and I couldn’t be happier there. The food was outstanding and Anna came to our table to see how everything was. Anna keep up the good work. You already are a winner!

Jeff not sure if I can trust your reviews anymore. That had to be the worst meals I have eaten since I moved here 5 years ago. Tasted as my husband said like cafeteria food. Service was ok, I noticed some servers more attentive than others. What a shame we wasted our money in that place, will not stray from Dominicks ever again.

I ate at Anna’s last night. The food was very tasty and authentic Italian. The Italian Chef Marcelo and his crew do an amazing job. The service was great and very friendly. Anna’s is by far the best Italian restaurant in this area.
I can’t wait to go back for another great meal.

Couldn’t get into Nino’s last night, 1 hr wait. Decided to try Anna’s. Got there about 8:30pm and the place was nearly empty. We had pizza, veal parma, chicken marsala and the food was good. Not in the league of Nino’s but good.

Anna’s makes a good sauce, which tastes homemade. But the eggplant parm was not freshly made. The eggplant tasted like the frozen breaded eggplant you can buy at Costco. Also tried Anna’s Italian Antipasto, which is listed under “salads” not appetizers. However what was served was a skimpy antipasto plate with no salad at all. Garlic rolls were okay, not nearly as good as Stallones. Service was fair, even though the place was empty the server seemed overwhelmed the first visit, more friendly and relaxed the second. Stallones is the secret jewel in west Boca.

Just wanted to update on Anna’s. Went for lunch the other day and we were the only ones in the place. There is no lunch menu, same menu as dinner so very, very pricey for lunch. We all ordered the cheapest thing, the chicken focacia sandwich which was around $10. Forty minutes later, we asked the waitress to check on our order. Fifty minutes later it was ready, and we had to pack it into boxes as we had to get back to work. The waitress saw we were upset and offered us dessert…but we hadn’t even had time to eat our sandwiches. Ridiculous! Server obviously was clueless and frankly didn’t seem to care much. She did tell us that they bake their own bread and it wasn’t ready, that’s why it took so long. But she should have told us that when we ordered so we could have ordered something we could have actually eaten within an hour. Quite annoyed about the whole thing and doubtful I’ll be back.

I use to ate and the food was very good but on our recent visit to this restaurant we had one of the worst experiences. As a local we will never go back especially since the food changed, slow and inattentive service.
After a few weeks friend of mine told me that the chef left……… NOW I KNOW WHY THE FOOD WAS BAD!!!!!!!!

I just had dinner at Anna’s and the food was better than ever. I always order the chicken francese and this visit it had so much more flavor. Chef Angelo you do a great job. Our server Lisa was very attentive and advised us what to order. Anna you are doing a great job.
Can’t wait to come back in with all of my family.

I have had dinner there many times and always find the food very good. Anna always stops by our table to make sure everything is OK. I had dinner there last night and noticed a difference in my food, it was actually better. I didnt know what changed until I found this Blog. When someone mentioned that the Chef had changed. You know you cant please everyone all the time, but I enjoy my dinning experience and will continue to go there with my family and friends.
