Casola’s Pizzeria & Sub Shop (Miami)

Posted on July 14th, 2009 · Fast Food Italian Miami Pizza Subs/Salads

***** Casola’s Pizzeria & Sub Shop, 2437 Southwest 17th Street, Miami, Florida 33145, (305) 858-0090.

I’m gonna call Casola’s a “fast-food–red sauce–Italian” joint- because that’s exactly what it is- order at the /counter–pickup at the counter.

Not really sure how long this joint has been around😛…but trust Jeff Eats when I tell you that it has an absolutely enormous following- Was at Casola’s the other night and the joint was jammed and I do mean jammed out the door, jammed!

Casola’s menu has the ‘expected” stuff- pizza, subs, sandwiches, pastas. Check its website http://casolaspizzasubshop.tripod.com/for menu/prices/tons of photos.

My “taste test” netted me pizza, meatball sub, lasagna and grilled chicken salad. Now for the verdict- the pizza was absolute dynamite! The 2-slices that I had were as good as the NY slices that I grew up on in Brooklyn in the 50s & 60s. As for the meatball sub, lasagna and grilled chicken, real- real good!

Trust Jeff Eats when I tell you- this Casola’s joint is a big time winner!

So that’s the Casola’s story!

The joint is open Sunday-Thursday 11am-midnight, Friday-Saturday 11am-4am.

I love Casola’s definitely one of my top 3 pizza places. I should state though that Casola’s is not a New York style pizzeria, (you didn’t actually say they were) they are a Boston style Pizzeria. (I know this because i’m from Boston and have been to the original one several times in Boston.)

The Gelato there is pretty good and something that 90% of the patrons have never tried but really should are the Chicken Wings. They are HUGE and pretty tasty.

Anyway i was just browsing the web and came across your site. Very Nice!

Casola’s hidden gem is their tuna salad on a croissant.
