*****  The Bronx Wanderers  *****

I recently saw an absolutely phenomenal… Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons/Dion & The Belmonts’ tribute band called The Bronx Wanderers. In addition to featuring the hit-songs of these two legendary groups, The Bronx Wanderers have an enormous playlist of rock ‘n roll/disco hits from the 1950’s-1970’s. If “seeing is believing,” check-out the group’s website at www.thebronxwanderers.com where you will find terrific audio/video of these guys in action.

Watching this 5-member band, was like having Frankie and Dion right in front of the crowd. Amazing covers. Just so you know, these guys are also no slouches when they play the hits of such bands/acts (a partial list, in no particular order) as Jay & The Americans, Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge, The Bee Gees, KC & The Sunshine Band, The Monkees, Neal Diamond, The Duprees, The Capris, The Beatles, The Classics, The Village People, Santo & Johnny, The Commodores and The Trammps.

The only “problem” with The Bronx Wanderers is that they are a New York based group. They very rarely get-down to South Florida… as most of their appearances are in New York and New Jersey.

Now for the good news…If you check The Bronx Wanderers’ “schedule”…you will find that the band has a number of South Florida dates in (now get this) January, 2010. I know it’s a long way-off…but if you can swing it, you definitely want to see this group in action.

If you like the music of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons–Dion & The Belmonts…you will absolutely love The Bronx Wanderers.

  1. I am a member of a cover Rock n Roll band that plays regularly in many restaurants and country clubs in Florida. As a matter of fact, when I was much younger I was in a doo wop group that had a record that hit the top 20. I saw The Bronx Wanderers about 5 months ago in NYC and they are incredible. They do 4 Seasons and Dion as if they were the real acts. They are one of the hottest bands on the oldie circuit and work almost every night. As word spreads these guys will get work all over the country.

    From an old pro.

  2. Jeff Eats: The Bronx Wanderers headlined this year’s Season Opening Weekend on 11/1 an 11/2. The group played before a crowd of 600 in the Clubhouse on Saturday Night and the following afternoon entertained over 1,000 at the Club’s carnival. This band’s covers of the hits of Dion and Frankie Valli were mind boggling. Topping off the weekend, on Saturday Night around 11:30pm Jamie “King” Colton the famous bluesman who has accompanied Dion on thirteen world tours, joined The Bronx Wanderers on a handful of Dion songs playing the sax and doing some backing vocals. When Jamie took center stage playing guitar and singing The Beatles’ “I Saw Her Standing There” people went nuts.

I highly recommend the Bronx Wanderers.

Like writers op and LR I have also seen The Bronx Wanderers play. Like LR I also saw them in action at the WCC on November 1-2. This band has 5 members and they are all talented. Their versions of hit songs was great and with The Jersey Boys’ show being so popular this group has a tremendous audience that will love to see them. The group also does terrific versions of other groups’ hits and I especially liked when they did The Bee Gees and Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge.

Like Jeff Eats said the big problem is that this is not a local group so their Florida appearances are very limited. For you folks that live in NY or NJ check them out because they work that area frequently.

Hopefully WCC will get them back.

Chicago snowbird here. Saw these guys in Chicago awhile back and they really are good. I see that they will be back in Chicago this Summer. Try and catch these guys they are better than the Jersey Boys singers.

  5. Norman H says...

Long time reader. Had a chance to look at The Bronx Wanderers’ video and these guys are awesome. They sound better than the real 4 Seasons. Just emailed my daughter in NYC and told her to check them out. Too bad they aren’t a Florida band.

  6. Jay T. says...

Going on 17 years in the talent booking business and probably have seen and booked more bands than most people could ever imagine.
Watched the Wanderers video on their website and then caught their live act in NY and they are one of the most energetic tribute bands that I have seen. Dead on covers of the 4 Seasons and Dion. I see from their bookings that they are now getting some gigs in Florida. This group is going to have so much work that it won’t even be funny. With Jersey Boys being played all over the world, this band will be in big demand.

    I highly recommend them.

  7. Lucille C says...

I am fortunate to have the pleasure of hearing The Bronx Wanderers quite frequent, since I am from NY.

The Bronx Wanderers are one of the most talented groups I ever heard. When Vinny sings Dean Martin’s “Welcome to My World” you will get chills.

The entire group is fantastic, each and every member is very talented.

Not only are they one of the best bands that you will ever hear, but they are real nice people, too.

Lucille: Just had a chance to read your post.
Just some information…On November 1st and 2nd 2008 The Bronx Wanderers headlined (in Boca Raton) the Woodfield Country Club’s Season Opening Weekend. The Saturday event ran from 8pm-1am and had close to 600 adults in attendance and the Sunday event ran from noon-3pm and drew something like 1,200 adults/children. I attended both events and I can tell you that the audiences on both dates were absolutely “nuts” about the group. In fact, they didn’t want The Bronx Wanderers to leave and kept screaming for more cover-hits.

This group as you know, sounds just like the “acts” that they are paying-tribute to, like Dion & the Belmonts and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons.

If you check the group’s schedule, you will see that the band is set to headline Woodfield’s 2009-New Year’s Eve Party. You will also find, that based on the Woodfield appearances, The Bronx Wanderers lined-up numerous S. Florida bookings in 2009-2010.

One other thing, the members of the group really played to the crowd and were as personable as can be. Like I said before, every age group enjoyed their performances.

To say that they were a hit would be an understatement.

    Thanks for reading…

  9. Earlier this evening I and my wife saw a “showcase” at Huntington Pointe in Delray Beach, Florida. We had heard about The Bronx Wanderers through your website. We were thrilled to learn that this group would be appearing where we live.
To say that they are good would not do the group justice. They are fabulous. They got a standing ovation and they were only on for about 15 minutes. They did 2 Dion & The Belmonts’ songs and a Four Season medely and they sounded just like the records.
Too bad they didn’t play more.
Hoping they get a load of Florida bookings because we want to see their full show.

The talent is unreal and they genuinely like what they are doing. I believe they entertain all age groups especially with Yo Vinny’s 2 sons with him.

I work for one of the major residential communities here in South Florida.
I am involved in the booking of acts and promotion of events.

WHAT A SHOW. Last night at South Point in Las Vegas. In Sept we saw you guys here and could not wait to see you again. We were not disappointed for a minute. The tribute you did for our vets brought tears to our eyes. My husband and I were both born and raised in Brooklyn and when we hear the Bronx Wanderers are in town we feel like we are back home. I have never seen a more hardworking group in the business.
