*****  Papa Hughie’s Seafood World & Marketplace, 4602 North Federal Highway, Lighthouse, Florida 33064 (954) 942-0740.

Papa Hughie’s is a “real-casual seafood joint” which seats something like 75…in addition to its 20 or so tables, Papa Hughie’s has a seafood market where both fresh and frozen stuff is sold. If you take a look at this joint’s website at www.seafood-world.com you will find menu/prices and photos which will give you some idea as to what this combination restaurant/market looks like.

Just so you know…if you are not a fish/seafood eater, this joint is probably not for you…Papa Hughie’s has exactly 3 things on its menu for you guys…filet mignon, chicken fingers and blackened chicken. On the other hand, seafood-lovers, will be like “pigs in sh@t.”… appetizers, soups, salads, pastas, entrees.

A recent food “sampling” found…delicious crab-cakes, conch fritters, calamari marinara, snapper franciase and fried oysters. Entrees come with a house salad, vegeatble and potato/or rice.

If you like great seafood and enjoy eating it in tee shirts and shorts…you got to try Papa Hughie’s. The joint is open Monday-Saturday 11:30am-10pm and Sunday 3pm-9pm.

  1. This restaurant was featured in that Sun Sentinel dining deal that you previously mentioned so I bought $50 worth of food for $25. I have eaten here before and it was great. Now I get to save 50 percent.
    Thanks.

My husband found this review on your site and said “let’s go”. We went for lunch and was absolutely impressed as soon as we walked in as it was CLEAN and had NO smell of clorox and no smell of fish, which is always a good sign no matter where you go!

My huband had their fish and chips and asked the waitress to pick the fish for his meal as he wanted fresh fish. She selected grouper, which came out piping hot with a light batter. The grouper was served over fresh fench fries that was to die for as there was NO added seasoning to their fries.

I ordered hog snapper in a white wine sauce with a side of coleslaw that was FABULOUS!

We were so impressed, we went back a few days later and I had their swordfish over a vinigrette salad with roasted red peppers – I could of licked the plate! My husband ordered calamari, srimp, mussels over linguini in a red sauce that did not disappoint.

I was craving their food again, so today hubby had their fish and chips again and I had their blackened MahiMahi over a field of greens with avocado, tomatoes and roasted peppers. Again, it was a delicious meal!

In speaking with Papa Hughie, we learned that he goes down to Miami in the mornings and hand selects his fish for his market and restaurant and has an import export business for the stone crabs.

Hands down, this is one great restaurant!

I have to tell you that this is my favorite restaurant on the planet!! I came across this blog and noticed that a comment hasn’t been made in a few years and I had to inform you that the menu for Seafood World has included at least 15 items that are not Seafood..from Chicken Picatta and Chicken Francaise to the Kahuna Burger (my son’s favorite) and Stone Crab Rangoons (heaven in your mouth!!) Please check it out or re visit if you haven’t been in a while

Just went to Seafood World for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. I had the blackened grouper, my son had the lobster risotto special, and my wife had the “Killer BLT”. All were amazing!! It’s not inexpensive, but it is some of the best seafood I have had in a while. Will definitely go back.
