Chris’ Taverna (Lake Worth)
***** Chris’ Taverna, 6346 Lantana Road, Lake Worth, Florida 33463, (561) 964-4233.
Chris’ Taverna is a GREEK RESTAURANT…maybe 10 formica tables inside, 3-4 outside. You can order at/pickup at the counter…or you can be fancy and have a waitress/waiter take care of you. Menu/prices/loads of photos at www.christaverna.com. This is strictly a shorts/tee shirt ensemble kinda-joint.
Now…and I really mean this, outrageously delicious food. I have to rank the Greek salad ($8.95), gyro entree ($11.95-2 sides), souvlaki entree ($11.95-2 sides), grilled baby lamb chops entree ($20.95, 5 chops-2 sides) right up there with the best that I’ve had in a Greek joint.
Really, that simple.
Chris’ Taverna is open Monday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-10pm, Sunday 5pm-9pm.

best greek food going.
gyro is great.
jeff, chris’ is great. also you should checkout corelino’s coal oven pizza which just opened in the same center. great pizza, wings, pastries.
Jeff, I have never been to chris’ before but it sounds good. In my opinion the best Greek restaurant in Florida is Kostas’ in light house point. All the food is cooked by the owner and it is great you should check it out.
This has to be one of the best Greek restaurants in Florida. Great call here.
enormous portions, terrific lamb chops, sovalaki and gyro. reasonable prices.
hey jeff, i’m a regular at Chris’. the food is outstanding. on friday-saturday nights when the weather is good i’ll bet you that there are at least 20 tables outside, with people waiting. this restaurant is doing so well that they just took the empty store next store to their’s and are adding another 60 or so indoor seats.
you are 100% correct when you told people the food was excellent.
sensational food.
you can say that again”’
love the food
For $21 they have the Grecian Feast which is 3 broiled lamb chops, gyro and sovalaki and a Greek salad. It is delicious and there is enough food for 3 people.
The food is delicious. Some of the best gyro that I have ever eaten. Very fair pries. Quick service. Large portions. My wife and I were there last Saturday night and there was a 1/2 hour wait to get a table. Every table inside was taken and there must have been at least 15 tables outside also all taken. I understand that they are building onto the store and have taken the bay next to them so another 60 seats will be added.
This is an excellent Greek restaurant.
By far and away one of the best Greek joints in the area. Mounds of food for dirt cheap prices.
excellent.
jammed on a wed night.
Four of us went last night for dinner. The portions are enormous. The food is excellent. Same for the service. The prices super reasonable. We got there last night (Wed) around 6 pm and every table inside was busy with about 20 people eating out side. This is a really good restaurant.
jeff, i had gyro, sovalaki, and lamb chops, huge portion, thought food was ok but it was a bit on the salty side,
excellent lamb chops.
Chris’ Taverna is EXCELLENT! The gyros there… ah, no words to describe it. Saturday afternoons it can get quite packed, but you never have to wait too long to get your food.
First time this evening. The joint was jammed, with a 30 minute wait for a table. Food is delicious. Huge portions. Cheap prices. Had lamb chops, gyro that was best I’ve had in a very long time.
one of your best picks. great food priced right.
so right, great food and cheap prices.
lines all of the time should tell you something.
I don’t enjoy Chri’s as much as I use to before they added the new space. I think that when they are busy, they are handling too many people now. Food use to be great but last two outings were just fair.
Jeff, love this recommendation. food is outstanidng. thanks.
went tonight. 25 minute wait. inside and outside packed. while waiting saw tons of takeout orders. best gyro around.
This fellow Chris has a goldmine. 7 days a week it’s lines to get in. His food and portion size are terrific. His prices as reasonable as can be. One entree is enough food to easily feed two people.
Hey Jeff: Met you last night at Cris’s. The blog looks great.
I’ll tell you one thing. After dining at Cris’s for years and years and never even having a so/so meal last night was different. Maybe the chef was having a bad night. I had a gyro. The meat was dry and only warm. My wife had the stuffed pepper and tomato special. The filing was dry and they forget the sauce. Another in the party had to send their chicken back. It was cold. Even the kid with us couldn’t eat his meat gyro meal. We didn’t get our pita with taziki until our entrees came out and we had to ask for it. It was the first time that we had that waitress and alot was her fault but I hope Cris hasn’t grown too fast affecting his customer care. We’ll still give him another chance.
Again, your blog looks great and I’ll use it often as a reference.
Thanks.

Takeout this evening. Simply delicious.
Great pick.
Right up with the best.

thursday night, every table taken, 20 minutes wait. should tell you something.

i live right around the corner from chris’. i have never been in the center when it isnt busy. amazing over the years how the business kept out growing its space and kept getting better.

mg, you are so right. best around.
Love the food here.
Food is very good.
One bad observation, i eat there quite often and not once has the owner ever stopped by my table to say hello or offer my party anything. guys got great food but i think in the personality department he needs some heavy duty training.
