Cafe Martorano (Fort Lauderdale)
Cafe Martorano, 3343 East Oakland Park Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308, (954) 561-2554.
Last night Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats ate dinner for the first time- at celebrity chef Steve Martorano’s- Cafe Martorano in Fort Lauderdale!
There is an old Vietnamese saying- “If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
But I must!
Go For Your Lungs Prices!
Mediocre At Best- Bland Tasting Food
Wait Staff That Thinks They Are Doing You A Favor- Letting You Eat At Cafe Martorano
Reel After Reel Of Italian Gangster Movies (like- Vito Corleone actually has something to do with the joint!)
Deafening Music That Will Annoy The Crap Out Of You
Did I Mention- Go For Your Lungs Prices?
Pictured down below…
The “Philly cheesesteak”- $26
The “meatball”- $23
The “chicken cutlet”- $28
Now, you guys and Jeff Eats both know that “reviewing” is purely a subjective game- you know, what I find sweet you may find sour and vice versa- with that in mind…
You’ve been warned!
If you insist on getting suckered and soaked, cafemartorano.com for menu/prices/info.
Jeff,
As usual right on the money here.
Ive eaten twice in the joint and both times I said to myself “never again.”
This joint is nothing but a hyped tourist trap.
If you enjoyed eating there you definitely need psychiatric help.
The staff are amateurs who are trained to rush the crap out of customers so that tables can be turned.
There are no substitutions and the kitchen won’t accomadate special requests.
The food is average and is ridiculously over priced.
The music they play is loud and obnoxious and at times unbearable.
One personal dinner and one business dinner with co- workers was my limit.
To your readers I say you’ve been warned, stay away.
Martorano is a tourist trap.
The place sucks.
Overpriced and poorly run with mediocre food and blasting music isn’t my favorite way of eating out.
Disgusting and overpriced. Bland is not even the word. What a pathetic attempt at Italian food. The chicken Park is $28!!! For what???? Wine selections are bad and triple the average cost. The “homemade” mozzarella appetizer comes out warm and rubbery. Not at all tasty or pleasing. The staff is bored and lacks any interest in working there. The only people that do the work are the server backs that constantly make sure you have bread oil and clearing your plates. The server shows you an iPad for the specials. Just talk to me about them. But why bother when you don’t care about your job. Go to Nicks Italian Restaurant down the block and save yourself the embarrassment of eating at this dump.
Jeff,
The food is pretty decent.
The prices are absurdly high.
The waiters stink.
The music is way too loud.
Ate there once a few years ago and haven’t been back since.
People who thinks that Cafe Martorano is a top notch Italian Restaurant are idiots.
The food is decent but nothing that warrants off the chart prices.
The waitstaff is terrible. Piss poor attitude as if they were doing you a favor by serving you.
The music noise level is ridiculous and ruins any chance of hearing someone at your table talking.
Like other Italian restaurants it thinks that all Italians are Mafiosa characters. In poor taste, Continuous looping Godfather showings are constantly running.
This restaurant is nothing but a tourist trap.
Jeff,
You nailed this one.
You’ve said it and others here have said, this joint sucks.
For sure the owner made a fortune but he looks and sounds like a freaking moron.
Anyone who thinks that this is a good restaurant doesn’t know dick.
This one is strictly for the tourist crowd.
This restaurant is overpriced and poorly managed with okay but not awesome food.
Good food. Rude staff. Overpriced. One time for me was enough.
Jeff,
I love their food.
Their service is very weak.
Their prices are very high.
Ive eaten there 4 times on someone else’s dime.
Jeff,
Their food is quite good.
Their service is horrendous.
Their prices are obscene .
That said, they are always jammed with people.
A tourist trap. Plain and simple.
Frankly I dont get it. The hype he got. He had a place at the Hard Rock in Davie. I ate there a few yrs ago. It wasnt terrible but nothing special. And the prices were really high at the Hard Rock location. I think higher than FLL. He did open a place at the RIO casino in Vegas a few yrs ago. Tons of celebs have eaten in FLL. Seems to have some connections. With that being said
