Vitolo (Fort Lauderdale)
***** Vitolo, 551 North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33304, (954) 414 – 5127.
Got a real good Italian joint for you guys to check-out, Vitolo in Fort Lauderdale.
Real simple tale to tell, last night Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats, Son Jeff Eats and family friends Norman and Lynn “discovered” Vitolo and its food and service totally blew us away! Now you all- know that this food reviewing “thing” is purely a subjective call- what I may like, you might hate and vice versa…with that that in mind, Vitolo was one of the best Italian restaurants that all-6-of-us have eaten at in Florida! Three dining rooms/ table and booth seating, full liquor bar, outdoor patio table seating/full liquor bar, reasonably priced appetizers/ salads/ pizzas/ pastas/ meat-seafood entrees/ sides/ desserts/ happy hour menu.
Let’s wrap-up Vitolo by saying that BOTH its food and service were dynamite, that it’s open Sunday-Thursday noon-10pm/ Friday-Saturday noon-11pm, that although its decor may- kinda look fancy schmancy your shorts will work there, that its grilled pork chop is an absolute must have, that you can check menu/prices/info at vitoloitalian.com, that this joint is an absolute must try!
My husband and I have eaten there a couple of times and you are right, the food is absolutely dynamite. Same for its service.
They serve chicken parm family style and the portion is big enough to feed 4 people. Two of our other favorites are its fried zucchini and pork chop.
Great recommendation
Stayed at the Conrad which is the Hilton Hotel where Vitolo is located.
The restaurant is great looking.
Service was amazing.
Food was incredible.
Because it is located in an upscale hotel people think, including myself, that the restaurant would be expensive, I was surprised, prices were very reasonable and the portions were large,
One of your best recommendations.
My gf. And I ate there last night and the food was tremendous.
Caesar salad, baked clams chicken parm.
We will definitely will be back.
LOVE and I do mean LOVE,
VITIOLO
Terrific food and service.
Jeff,
Food is excellent.
Service sucks. The wait staff knows absolutely nothing about Italian food.
The table layout with hotel bar and kitchen area make the joint a nightmare to enjoy a quiet meal.
How a restaurant with such dynamite food would entrust it to an inferior waitstaff is beyond me.
Craziest restaurant layout I have ever seen.
Located in basically a hotel lobby seating is confused . If and when you go there, you will know what I am talking about. A total mess!
Food is terrific.
Service not good. Staff is confused and not professional.
Jeff Eats,
My wife and I have lived in Boca Raton for 33 years. During that time we have eaten in a load of S Florida Italian joints. The full gamut from high end to your local mom and pop pizza joints.
As I am sure you know, we have been faithful Jeff Eats’ readers for years. Love the site and most of your picks are right on the money.
Long story short, last night our party of 6 ate at Vitolo for the first time. First things first, terrible service. The waitress, actually there were 2 of them, should be working in a bagel joint or diner. Confusion beyond belief. They forgot to bring out dishes and when reminded the dishes were cold and luke warm.
As for the food, despite being cold and luke warm we all rated the food as some of the best Italian food that we have had in Florida.
So, the horrendous service made what should have been a great meal into a MESS!
Will any of us be back, not sure. Like I said delicious food but the service wrecked the meal.
One of the best veal chop pamigiana I have ever eaten.
On the food front outstanding.
On the service front, very poor.
Something is definitely wrong with this joint’s layout. Tables, bar, kitchen all just thrown together with no rhyme or reason where they are located.
Loved the food. Didn’t enjoy the meal because of poor service and the piss poor floor plan.
On your say so, my wife and I and our 2 daughters and son gave Vitolo a try.
Suffice it to say, its food was sensational.
Service very haphazard and amateurish.
We will definitely eat there again, but hopefully the service will be better.
Have the exact same feelings about this joint.
Terrific food. Lousy service.
Let me add, the restaurant is very uncomfortable. It’s got a chopped up and very confusing layout which is annoying,
My wife and our 3 grown children ate there last night.
First time for us eating there.
Have to agree with others here, the layout is like a mouse maze. Service terrible. Think a Denny’s or IHOP type waitress and you got the picture. In describing dishes they were confusing ala vodka with pompodoro sauce. Several dishes were served barely luke warm and a few they forgot to bring out altogether. Throw in, there were no dinner plates and we were served on appetizer plates.
The crazy part of the story, outrageously delicious food!!!
Whoever owns this restaurant, got great food, but the rest of the operation stinks.
Jeff Eats,
Great recommendation.
Usually pretty leery about restaurants located in hotels. Vitolo’s food (as you often say) “absolutely killed.” One of the best veal parms that we have ever had. Throw in dynamite Caesar salad, fried zucchini and baked clams and we couldn’t have asked for a better meal.
My husband and I ate there last night and the food and service were excellent. The restaurant was busy but when we arrived without reservations we were still immediately seated.
Reading a few comments here, a number dealt with service issues. In our case, our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and our food was served just right,
The chicken parm that we shared, fried zucchini and penne alla vodka sides were all delicious.
We also had MOZZARELLA EN CARROZZA which was totally awesome.
