    Jeff,

My family has eaten many times in the original location. Its pizza has always been sensational.

My wife and I have eaten 2x in the Delray Beach joint a few months ago. Personally, we liked the pizza but thought that it wasn’t quite as good as the Oriuginal’s pizza. Don’t get me wrong, the pizza was delicious, but not quite as good.

For the convenience of your readers, there are currently 2 Florida locations.
    Delray Beach and

    Plantation
341 N. University Drive, Plantation, FL 33324, US

    Happy New Year,

I have been hearing about the New Haven joint for years. Never been there. A few months ago, I ate at the Plantation location and thought that the cheese pizza was pretty good but far from being great. For sure, it was way better than Anthony’s Coal Fired pizza, but not as good as Ah-Beetz in Delray Beach, Grimaldi’s in Palm Beach Gardens and Tucci’s in Boca Raton.

    Jeff,
I am sure that you’ve seen Dave’s review on the Plantation location.
    Not exactly great!

I love coal oven fired pizza.

I have been to the New Haven restaurant and the pizza was terrific.

I have also been to the Delray Beach outpost and I really enjoyed the pizza.

You guys should definitely try the Delray Beach joint, the pizza was really good.

Since someone else has already mentioned Ah-Beetz in Delray Beach, I have also had that pizza and I would rate Ah-Betz ,better than Delray Pepe but that’s just my opinion.

  5. Ellen G says...

My husband and I ate in the Delray Beach Pepe and the white clam pizza we had was delicious.

Looking forward to trying many of the other pizzas they baked up.

  6. ITZLER says...

    There are currently 16 locations.
2 of which, Delray Beach and Plantation are in Florida.

I have eaten in New Haven, and both Florida locations and all 3 were very good. If I had to rank in order, New Haven, Delray Beach, Plantation.

  7. Larry says...

The pizza was fine but doesn’t compare to Ah-Beetz which is excellent.

  8. Joe Kennedy says...

My family and I have eaten at the New Haven location for over 40 years. Absolutely awesome pizza.

We have eaten in both the Plantation and Delray Beach locations and the pizza was good but not in the league of the New Haven restaurant.

Not sure why. Maybe it’s the water. Maybe the new ovens aren’t seasoned from use like the New Haven ones.

  9. Ron Singer says...

I’ve never been to Pepe in New Haven. Over the years I’ve heard only phenomenal things about it.

With the above in mind, I really expected amazingly delicious pizza when my wife and I ate at Pepe in Delray Beach.

The verdict, really delicious coal fired oven white clam and cheese pizzas and salads.

    We definitely will be back.

One of these days, we plan to get to Pepe New Haven.

  10. GABOR says...

    Jeff Eats,

I have eaten in New Haven, Delray Beach and Plantation. New Haven was great. The other two were good but nowhere as terrific as New Haven.

  11. Susan Gore says...

My husband and I have eaten in the new Delray Beach restaurant and the cheese pizza and Caesar salad that we had were delicious.

I wasn’t impressed with its pizza.

  13. Benny Wechsler says...

Earlier this evening my wife and I ate dinner at Frank Pepe in Delray Beach. We shared White Clam Pizza, Caesar Salad, Foxon Park Orange soda and Foxon Park Cream soda and the meal was terrific.

  14. Hank Romney says...

    Just my opinion,

Last night, My wife and I and a couple of friends ate at Delray Beach and the pizza etc was very good.

All of us have eaten at the original in New Haven many times and we all agreed that Delray Beach isn’t as good, but as mentioned above was still very good.

  15. Lenny Martin says...

    Delicious pizza and salads.

The best coal fired pizzas that I’ve had in south Florida in no particular order, Pepe in Delray Beach, Tucci’s in Boca Raton and Ah-Beetz in Delay Beach.

Believe, you can’t go wrong eating at any one of these joints.

  16. Jim Bohack says...

Last night my wife and I ate Pepe in Delray and the pizza and salad that we had was delicious.

  17. My husband and I have eaten in both Florida locations, Delray and Plantation and both locations’ pizza was really good.

    PIZZA IS VERY GOOD,
    NEW Haven’s is better.

  19. Marty Diamond says...

Ive eaten in the original location many times.
Last night I ate in the Delray Beach location. Decent enough, but the pizza isn’t as good as that served at the original location.
