The Venue Restaurant And Bar (Boynton Beach)

Posted on March 11th, 2019 · American Boynton Beach Italian Music/Events/Other

The Venue Restaurant And Bar, 8794 W Boynton Beach Boulevard, Boynton Beach, Florida 33472, (561) 200-0222.

The Venue Restaurant And Bar- is an upscale restaurant/bar/live music venue which opened in Boynton Beach in August, 2018. Decent enough (though on the pricey side) American/Italian food, dynamite modern club decor, spotty-confused service, off the chart good-live Rock N Roll cover & tribute bands/ named act bookings, beyond belief- horrendous location (sleepy Canyon Town Center spot with a surrounding population of 22,000,000 recently retired NYC school teachers)!

Now, you guys and Jeff Eats both know that- this reviewing “gig” is purely a subjective call- you know, what I like, you may hate and vice versa! No question here- I could be wrong, but the way I see it, The Venue Restaurant And Bar is sort of like plunking down a “Tony Soprano” Pork Store right in the middle of a Hasidic Jewish neighborhood in Borough Park, Brooklyn!

Just a gut call, The Venue Restaurant And Bar won’t be long for this world. Like I said a few seconds ago- like plunking down a “Tony Soprano” Pork Store right in the middle…

The Venue Restaurant And Bar is open Tuesday-Saturday 4pm-late, closed Sunday-Monday.

    Jeff,
My wife and I have been there twice. Both times tribute bands were playing. We thought that the food was good, service okay if a bit spotty, prices a drop high but not too terrible, the bands were good. No question The venue is a whole lot better than your run of the mill sports bar which has tribute bands. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

    Jeff,
You ever see those fireworks stores? They dont make sense either.

  3. Carl Furillo says...

I’m in commercial real estate. The joint makes no sense whatsoever. There is no way it can stay in business. Totally wrong location. The local population is not going there.

  4. Mike W says...

    Very bad spot.
Alabama Joe’s was previously there. If a plain old sports bar cant make it, there is no way some pricey bar club can.

    Jeff,
My gf and I have been to The Venue.
The food is ok but expensive.
    Service is amateurish.
The 60s cover band Breeze that we saw was outstanding.
    The value isn’t there.
    The Venue wont last.

  6. JOE FURMAN says...

    Familiar with the location.

    Just looked at their website.

They don’t have a chance of making it there.

Their location is flat in the middle of alte kaker land.

The owner(s) of The Venue apparently never heard the saying, “Location, Location, Location” because if they had, they would never have opened this joint in an area which is literally populated with every retired person in the world. This retired crowd is looking for $9.95 Early Bird Specials and Italian dinners that include, soup or salad, pasta side, entree and all the garlic rolls you can eat for $11.95. This population wants free bands, not $50-$100 ticketed acts for entertainment. Only time will tell how The Venue does, but if I was a betting man, I wouldn’t be betting on this business venture.

    Jeff,
Remember Jazziz Nightlife which opened and closed in Mizner Park in Boca a number of years ago? Same business model. Same kind of joint that thinks it’s in South Beach where people just piss money away. The Venue, won’t be around for too long.

  9. Fred Frumpkin says...

Unless The Venue is owned by the landlord or the The Venue’s owners get free rent, you couldn’t pick a worse location for this type of business. For crying out loud, its in a center which is in the middle of nowhere and the only businesses that do well there are Publix and the manicure place. Why anyone would put an upscale music club there is beyond me.

  10. Roger W says...

    Another Jazziz in the making.

  11. PETE G says...

THIS CONCEPT WILL NEVER WORK IN BOYNTON BEACH IN A CENTER RIGHT OFF OF THE FLORIDA TURNPIKE. IVE SOLD REAL ESTATE IN THE AREA FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND I KNOW IT LIKE THE BACK OF MY HAND. THE DEMOGRAPHICS ARE ALL WRONG FOR THIS CONCEPT. YOU BASICALLY GOT A BUNCH OF BLUE HAIRS LOOKING FOR BARGAIN MEALS LIVING IN THE AREA. THERE IS NO WAY THEY WILL SPEND THE KIND OF MONEY THAT THE VENUE NEEDS FOR THEM TO SPEND TO STAY IN BUSINESS.

  12. Ben K says...

Exact same blueprint as Jazziz which was in Mizner Park a few years ago. Jazziz had a much better location as well as much better demographics and it failed big time. The Venue will soon be looking to pull a rabbit out of a hat, but i just dont see it. The folks who put this one together aren’t imho going to be happy campers.

  13. Marc P says...

Been there twice. Drinks only. Saw Billy Joel tribute band Turnstiles and 60’s cover band Breeze and both bands were terrific. Great looking bar. Will definitely be back.

  14. Mr. X says...

I have left no less than 6 phone messages at The Venue asking the GM to call me. Over the past 2 months I have left my name, home phone number, cell number and email address and to date I have never received the courtesy of a return call from anyone. The details of the reason of the call aren’t relevant to this comment. What i do know, is that based on this lack of customer service this business is most likely doomed to failure.

  15. JMH says...

I live a 3 minute drive from The Venue. Its location absolutely sucks. I can’t believe that anyone would voluntarily pick this location to open a restaurant/night club. As Jeff states, I could be wrong on this call, but there is absolutely no way that The Venue will survive for very long.

  16. Alan Berkowitz says...

Just got tickets for Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals‘ upcoming show this coming Sunday. Can’t wait to see the band.

    • Dora 5438 says...

My husband and I have tkts for THE RASCALS. Should be a fun night.

  17. Toby R says...

Too much crap going on in this joint. Cover charges, no cover charges, up charges, minimums. Total confusion.
This joint is trying to be too many things to too many people.
This is freaking Boynton Beach. This joint is in a dead Town center that literally draws nobody except people looking to shop in Publix.
The way this joint is being operated spells FAILURE in my book.
Right now, we are in Season. Just wait to the Summer months arrive. The venue will be sucking wind beyond belief.

  18. Joel L says...

Saw The Studio 54 Band there the other night. They were very good.
    The Venue was very busy.

  19. Ginny B says...

    Mediocre overpriced food.
    Confused service.
    Cover charge for cover bands.

    This joint is doomed.

  20. James Skinner says...

    Great music and comedy lineup.
    Food is pretty decent.
Total confusion with icky and non ticket customers
Mgt that absolutely stinks. No customer skills.

  21. Lo Lo says...

    Jeff you called it

    OUT OF BUSINESS.

  22. Ed Krause says...

You nailed this one as a definite failure.
