For you guys who maybe wondering, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats, are “doing” Thanksgiving 2017 at Brother Jeff Eats and Sister-In Law Jeff Eats’ Boca Raton home- with Mrs. Jeff Eats charged with bringing enough pies to feed 15 people!

Long story short, yesterday Mrs. Jeff Eats placed her 5 pie order (apple, salted caramel, chocolate peanut butter, coconut cream, chocolate pecan)- with Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop & Cafe with pickup scheduled for Wednesday, November 22nd at 1pm! Just in case you guys haven’t heard about Fireman Derek’s, this Wynwood hole-in-the wall bakery makes absolutely off the chart delicious pies, cakes and cookies! For sure, at 30 bucks a pop the 9” pies aren’t exactly cheap, but like I just said, off the chart delicious!

Just ordered 6 pies from Gramma’s Bakery in Delray Beach. 9” all at $8.99.
Derek’s pies are terrific but way too expensive.

    Jeff,
    I live in Dania Beach.
Here’s my favorite joint for pies.
Derek’s is a bit of a ride but the pies sound amazing.
    Happy Thanksgiving,

Here’s another one of Jeff Eats’ favorite “out of sight, out of mind” joints…Grampa’s Bakery & Restaurant in Dania Beach.

    Terrific “diner” food…terrific bakery.

I first told you guys about Grampa’s way- back on July 25, 2008…hadn’t really thought about the joint- until this past Thanksgiving when friends brought over Grampa’s apple, blueberry and cherry pies for the holiday. DELICIOUS!!

Nothing for nothing, Grampa’s has been around since 1957 (for you mathematicians out there, that’s 57 years)-so I’m thinking that it must be doing something right.

    Check grampasbakery.com for menu/info.

Grampa’s has been around something like 50+ years. It is basically a local diner with a bakeshop attached. It has the requisite counter and booth seating…and it still looks like it did when it first opened.

    Grampa’s is open Monday 6:30am-3pm…Tuesday-Saturday 6:30am-9pm…Sunday 8am-4pm.

Grampa’s is a terrific place for a “diner” breakfast, lunch and dinner…not to mention the incredible baked goods that are made in house.

Absolutely nothing fancy here…these old nostalgic diner-joints are right-up there with my favorite places to eat.

Ive been getting pies from Knaus Berry Farm for over 25 years.
    Delicious and reasonably priced.

Taken from Knaus Berry Farm website (www.knausberryfarm.com):

“Knaus Berry Farm has been owned and operated by members of the Knaus family for over 50 years…*Assorted Baked Goods *Cinnamon Rolls *Honey Jams & Jellies *Lettuce & Herbs *Strawberries *Tomatoes & Peppers *Shakes & Ice Cream.”

I’m gonna assume that you guys have been to farm-joints like Knaus Berry Farm. You know- a bit hokey, a bit touristy, a bit folksy! You know, a Jimmy Stewart- Mr. Smith Goes To Washington kinda-feel!

Let me wrap this up for you…

Personally- Jeff Eats is too old for Knaus’ U-Pick Strawberries “thing”–that said, Knaus makes some of the most delicious cinnamon rolls that Jeff Eats has ever eaten, same goes for its strawberry milkshake. Trust me, the cinnamon rolls and milkshake–are worth the drive (assuming you don’t live in Homestead) alone- to Homestead.

You can check http://www.knausberryfarm.com for menu/prices/other info.

Knaus Berry Farm is open Monday-Saturday 8am-5:30pm, closed on Sunday…

A word to the wise, before you go “running” there-check Knaus’ planting schedule-or whatever its called- to make sure Knaus got what you want- to make sure the joint (farm) is even open.

One other thing, don’t think that this is an “undiscovered” deal–this joint is a freaking goldmine, with lines literally out the door all the time!
