Just curious, how many of you guys remember when gum machines like these were on New York City Subway platforms?
Rode the D & M trains everyday from 1961-1987 they didn’t have gum machines.
The subway always had the small of Juicy Fruit Gum –
Great memories !
I remember them. Like the straw subway seats, these machines are looooong gone. Nice memories.
I rode the N Train twice a day for 35+ years .
I remember these Chiclet Gum Machines!
You’d put a penny in the slot for the flavor gum you wanted then spin the large metal knob and two Chiclets would drop down in the holder in a
a small cardboard box. They were on almost every column on the subway platforms. These machines were red and they had a mirror on them. I remember they were in the subways in the 50’s and in the 60’s up till around 1964.
