* Win 2-Tickets To: Battle of the Boros VII at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.

Real simple game…in the Comment-section (1 per day), be the fourth person to tell me the name of the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performer in the picture with Jeff Eats (for you “slow” guys-looking at the picture, Jeff Eats is the guy on the right). To help you out here, the guy currently lives in Boca Raton, his wife’s name is Sue and one of his biggest hit records was The Wanderer!

I’m thinking that this is a no- brainer! But we’ll see!

Battle of the Boros VII (Coral Springs Center for the Arts- Coral Springs)
Posted on August 26th, 2015 · Coral Springs Music/Events/Other

* Battle of the Boros VII.

Jeff Eats wouldn’t exactly call this “concert” a battle- maybe a skirmish!

No-Johnny Maestro, No-Frankie Lymon, No-Carl Gardner, No-Ben E. King, No-Richard Blandon, Yes-Charlie Thomas, Yes-Herman Santiago, Yes-Jimmy Merchant, Yes-Cleveland Still! When you think of the 60’s Yankees-you think Maris, Mantle, Berra, Ford- not Boyer, Lopez. Howard and Turley…Capice!

That said, Jeff Eats has seen all of the “acts” on the bill-and they all-put on a good show!

As I’ve said many times before, you guys aren’t getting any younger, nor are the “oldies” singers of the 50s-60s-70s…so if you “like” this type of music- What are you waiting for? Buy tickets-and Go!

    Dion DiMucci.
    I love the guy.

  5. jessejames says...

That’s Dion DiMucci who started out with The Belmonts.
He lives in Boca Raton and is a Hall of Fame legend.
If you haven’t seen him, you have to. He still got it.

  6. KLEINMAN says...

    Jeff,
I see I’m too late to win.
    I just bought 2 tickets.
    Should be fun.

    Jeff,
I have seen The Teenagers and they are really good.
I have seen the Coasters and they suck. Not even close to one original being in the group.
I have seen The Crests with Mara and they suck. Same story as The Coasters. All fakes.
I have seen The Dubs, they are decent enough but nothing great. Cleveland Still the only original in the group can hardly walk and sits down during the whole show.
I have seen Spanky & Dino and they are good but are absolute nobodys. These guys play bars. That’s what they do.
I have seen Charlie Thomas’ Drifters and they are terrific.

    • WWDE says...

I think that Tommy Mara bought the trademark for The Crests.
There are no originals in the group.
      An absolute joke.
The Coasters are all fakes not one original.
You are right Charlie Thomas puts on a great show as do The Teenagers.
      Spanky & Dino are nobodys.
The Dubs do have one original and that’s Still. He doesn’t sing lead, but the group is decent enough.

  8. Don says...

Would love to see them all, I love this music, reminds me of being young!

  9. Sheldon Lipton says...

    Jeff,
Charlie Thomas alone is worth the price of admission.
He puts on a great show.

  10. LODI says...

I’ve seen the latest version of The Crests and they are very good. No question that there are no originals but they still put on a good show.
