* And You Wanted To Be A Doctor! In My Case A Stagehand!

Just read this…in the Huff Post-
Live and learn!- if Jeff Eats had only known–I wouldn’t have passed up the part of Emile de Becque (in my 6th grade play)-to be a stagehand, oh well! To save you the trouble–show/movie “South Pacific.”

Jeff, I was at this year’s Grammy’s. The loot bag for most of the celebrities was worth close to $5,000. One item alone was a man’s sports jack worth $1,000 and woman’s necklace priced at $450. Nice work if you can get it. These bags went to celebrities whether or not they were in the running for awards, like Tom hanks, Yoko Ono, Carol King, Steven Tyler, Darlene Love.

  2. Jeff, your story shows why this country is all screwed up. the school teacher and regular joe just gets buy and LOSERS in the entertainment business get huge rewards.
    Very unique and insightful blogsite.
I live in Miami Beach and I know loads of people who read you.
How about some more MB real joints where food is cheap and good?

I don’t want to name drop but I had access to one of those rooms in 2005-Screen Actors Guild Awards. I met just about every A lister at the time. Due to an unusual situation I ended up giving out gifts to the stars, so I met them all. These bags were worth more than 5000.00. The companies have to pay to be there and give the gifts out. They usually get pics of the stars with their items but cannot use them in any advertising. They may be able to use on their website or something though.

Ok Ill drop names Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman! The stars sometimes give the gifts away to their handlers etc as well. The vacation giveaways are often not used since they usually cant let anyone else use it. Not every star went into the room for the stuff.
