***** Knucklehead Burgers *****

There are things in life that are “certain.”

1. When Jeff Eats buys a stock, the next tick is down.
2. After someone celebrates his or her 100th birthday-the next piece of news about that person ain’t gonna be good.
3. People worry about things happening and most of those things never even happen.

Anyway…

A new fast food burger joint- Knucklehead Burgers, opened this week at 4900 South University Drive, Davie, Florida 33328, (954) 434-0013.

Jeff Eats’ buddies at Burger Beast (www.burgerbeast.com) already-got to Knucklehead Burgers and gave the 40 seater a rave review. Based on Burger Beast’s review, Knucklehead’s cool name/decor (www.knuckleheadsburgers.com) and a 20 minute phone conversation with Adam Knucklehead’s operations manager—Jeff Eats is gonna go out on a limb here and…green-light this joint for you.

Now-only certain things in this life are for certain…but Jeff Eats is feeling real good about Knucklehead. Now of course if Burger Beast’s stellar track record proves not to have been as stellar/certain) as I thought it was, Jeff Eats will have to further scrutinize Burger Beast’s picks a whole lot closer in the future.

I’ve got Knucklehead Burgers on my “to try” list.

If you get there before I do, let me know if my “gut” call on this joint was right or wrong.

Your input will certainly be appreciated.

    Jeff:
    Burger Beast loved the food.
I looked at Facebook and place looks great.
What did The operations mgr tell you that convinced you to greenlight a place you never were at?
    Thanks,
    JNH

    JNH:

Just had a chance to read your comments.

As I mentioned in the writeup, Burger Beast has already given the joint a very positive review. Just so you know, Jeff Eats really doesn’t socialize with too many other food bloggers, but Burger Beast and for that matter Worst Pizza (www.worstpizza.com) are two “bloggers” who seem to have a really good feel for their respective arenas. For sure, Jeff Eats hasn’t always seen eye to eye on every review, but give or take one here and there, Jeff Eats and these two sites appear to be on the same wave length.

Like you, I checked the joint’s sites, and the photos that I found showed me a really cool looking place. Now, unless the photos are doctored which I seriously doubt, Knucklehead looks to have an interesting decor.

My conversation with the operations manager touched on a whole lot of things. Just call it a hunch, but I think that the two guys who own the business are trying to “sell” a quality product at a very reasonable price. But, like I said a few seconds ago, that’s just an educated guess.

As indicated in the original story, Jeff Eats plans on trying this one out in the near future.

So what do we have for that “greenlight?”
    1. A real good blog site’s recommendation.
    2. Real cool pictures.
    3. A conversation with an employee

Anyway, if you get there before Jeff Eats—let me know if my call was right or wrong.

One final thought…A joint named Knucklehead can’t be bad!

    Thanks for reading…

    Jeff:
Based on your greenlight I had lunch at Knucklehead about an hour ago.
I had its Rodeo Burger and ff.
    Delicious!
As good if not better than my usual BurgerFi haunt in Coral Springs.
You are also right, it’s a great looking place.
Not sure if the location is all that great, you can’t see it from the main road.
So far so good for you and Burger Beast.
I will definitely be back for another lunch.
    Thanks for the heads up.

    Jeff,
    You remember Knucklehead Smiff?

      RRSD:

Just had a chance to read your comments.

Of course I remember Knucklehead Smiff? Like many, for years I thought that Knucklehead’s last name was Smith. He and his pal Jerry Mahoney were two of my favorites, but I adored Charlie Horse and Lamb Chop.

By the way, every day I read tons of restaurant “stuff”…it was the name Knucklehead that really caught my eye on this one…and when I saw the name, it immediately reminded me of Knucklehead Smiff.

Personally, I think the name is dynamite.

    Jeff,
    Read Beast.
    Looked at website.
    Place looks good.
I know that you think that too many fast food burger joints are opening.
How’s this one stackip with others?

  7. Ronny says...

Aren’t you the guy who gave the “green light” for Burger Freak too?

  8. HoboTommy says...

    Jeff
    Ate there last night.
Burger and ff were very good.
    It’s a great looking place.
Definitely has a shot at making it.

They offer great Hamburgers at a great price. I loved my meal. By Gregg L. Friedman MD, Psychiatrist, Hallandale Beach, FL

The burgers are decent, but I wouldn’t go out of my for it. For anything other than their “simple” burger, it costs about the same for burger and fries as it does for a burger at a restaurant on Las Olas.
