***** WHO IS WORSE COMCAST OR SIRIUS XM ? *****

Just curious, who do you guys think has “worse” customer service, Comcast or Sirius XM?

Maybe I’m crazy, but literally, every time I turn on my television there is a problem with the Comcast cable service. The latest “event’ was a total loss of cable last night around 9pm for over an hour. In addition, it was absolutely impossible to “call” Comcast as there was a recording to try later.

On the Sirius XM front, it seems that although they are a merged company, they don’t have merged business account records, so if one of your cars has XM and the other has Sirrus, you can’t just make one call to handle issues. In addition, after the “free” trial runs out on new cars, Sirius/XM tries to bang the customer with ridiculously high monthly rates, which if you are persistent can be negoiated down to virtually pennies a month.

Just curious what you guys think of these companies and their services.

    Jeff, COMCAST has to be the world’s worst customer co. We live in Boca Raton and it seems like every day our service has a proble. Soemtimes our ON DEMAND WORKS and sometimes it doesn’t. The service just goes in and out.
    XM also stinks, but COMCAST IS THE WORSE.

    Definitely two of the worst companies in the world.
    The cable service in Boca stinks. Constantly have problems with On Demand.
    On XM, they still think that I have a radio in a Cadillac I returned off lease 3 years ago, They don’t have a clue as to what they are doing.

    You have hit the nail on the head… it’s almost as if you reached into the pissed off area of my brain and pulled out my pet peeves!

    Comcast is unbelievable. They have no regard for the consumer. I’m forced into using Comcast as my condo association has signed a ten year contract. Payment is made through my monthly maintenance charges. As I’m a bulk customer I’m last on their list when it comes to assistance. When I had to have them come in on a service call they blew me off 4 times… that’s 4 days I was stuck at home waiting for the tech to show up. Each time I called they told me they would credit me $20 on my next bill – they couldn’t comprehend that there was no bill because of my bulk contract status. It took filing a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture (yes – in Florida cable TV is regulated by the Dept of Agriculture) before I finally got a tech here and an $80 check from them for my inconvenience.

    As for Sirius XM – they are also impossible. I have 3 XM radios and trying to get them coordinated on the same bill at a reasonable rate is way past impossible. Each person I talk to says they are doing what I ask only to find out that nothing is ever done.

    What do you do when you love the product, have no choice what company to deal with and can never get things straightened out???

    COMCAST is horrendous.
    XM is bad but you don’t have to deal with them that often.
    COMCAST could give a rat’s ass about good customer service.
    Sir, unplug the box, wait 40 seconds, see the light, see the this, unplug that.
    They stink.

    I was just thinking about that SOBs at Comcast and how in the middle of the Heat game last night, the picture froze and didn’t come back on for almost an hour.

    These SOBs are disgraceful.

    I was watching the Heat game, and another one of my shows, and the boob tube just froze up on me… The time it came back, my show was half over….

    First we had Adelphia and then it was acquired by Comcast. It went from bad to horrendous.
    Comcast has this new service call ON DEMAND. In my house it works, then it doesn’t work.When you call to complain, they have you unplug and replug and unplug and replug and sometimes it works and then sometimes it doesn’t.
    This is a yterrible company to do business with.
    As someone else here mentioned our community has a master contract with Comcast and we pay with our 1/4ly dues. We can’t get out of doing business with Comcast because of this contract.
    Last night, like others here the service failed and to boot you couldn’t even get through on the phone. I must have dialed 10 times and each time a voice message said that they had so many calls that I should call back.
    When you lose service, they never voluntarily give you back money. You have to call and fight with them over the money.
    Comcast should be investigated by the FCC>

    In my Boca raton neighborhood Comcast has a virtual monopoly because it has a contract with our HOA. So I’m stuck with this crap company and its crap service.
    I can’t begin to tell you how many times in 2010 I had to call Comcast because the service on the tv or internet wasn’t working the right way.
    I spent hours waiting for repaimen who when they finally showed up told me that the problems had nothing to do with my house but were in master lines.
    When you call, they give you a run around about trying to fix problems with BULLETS from the home office. They have you turning boxes on and off like a lunatic and most of the time the problem doesn’t get fixed.
    How about you lose service on a Friday and they tell you that the first available appaointment is 6 -7 days later. That’s real bad.
    Comcat is a sheet company.

    XM is just a confused mess. I don’t even want to get into what it’s like to call there. They have morons manning the phones.

    i just called comcast to complain about last night’s service. there is a 19 minute wait time to get an operator.

    Jeff,
    You hit a raw nerve here.
    Both companies are lousy.
    XM is absurd to call because half the time they can’t find your records.
    Comcast is even worse.
    The customer service lines are absurd.
    The problems are inhouse yet they tell you to sit at home and wait for a repair person.
    Half the time they dont know that whole areas are out and set an appt for you as if something is wrong in your home.
    Comcast is the most frustrating company to deal with.

    Comcast is terrible and even though their service is included in my home owners association dues I made the switch to AT&T U-verse and I couldn’t be happier with their service. Since I have an internet business I used to have Comcast’s business class broadband, which cost me about $90 a month. It was so unreliable that I had to have a DSL service as a back-up. Since I switched to U-verse for cable and. internet, about 6 months ago, I haven’t had a minute when everything wasn’t working.
    The only thing worse than Comcast’s service is there customer service. I can’t tell you how many times I would wait over 20 minutes to talk to an agent only to get disconnected along the way. I can’t tell you if the U-verse customer service is good because I have never had a reason to call them. It just works all the time

    I wake up every morning hoping that my cable service and internet are working. That’s how unreliable Comcast is.
    Sirius has a good service but its billing and customer service people are a confused group. no one seems to know what’s going on there.
    you should also throw fpl into the mix. the mini power outages seems to happen more and more. it doesnt matter that the weather is beautiful, no storms etc, the power just goes out.
    GOD only knows how many tvs and computers and other appliances these ridiculous blackouts have blowout.

    Put me down for Comcast being the worse company.
    I originally had Adelphia which was acquired by Comcast.
    The service is provided by my condo so I have no choice in the service. All I can do is add internet and or premium services.
    Comcast constantly has problems.
    My On Demand goes in and and out.
    Every so often the channels for absolutely no apparent reason just freeze and you can’t change them.
    When I have problems it seems like it takes forever for customer service to answer the phone. When they do, they play a game with you and have you plug things in and unplug things and usually this doesn’t help. The reason why, is because the problem is system wide and nothing to do with your home.
    Comcast is a terrible company just that simple.
    As for XM, I like the service but make sure that they don’t have your credit card on file. If they have the number they overcharge you when you need to update your bill. I currently pay $25 for 6 months. They originally tried to bill me something like $40 a month.
    Also XM and Sirus aren’t in the same office, if you have two different cars with service one operator can’t handle both accounts.
    XM is a good service and actually works. Their problem is billing and knowing what car has what service.
    The US GOVT should really look into Comcast. It is a virtual monoploy and really is treating people terribly.

    I have both Comcast tv and internet service.

    I would guess that in 2011 I must have called Comcast at least 50 times with various problems.

    Just imagine, almost twice on the average, I had some sort of issue with my service.

    If you had a lawyer or doctor that you had so many issues with, you wouldn’t use them, would you? Unfortunately for many of us because of where we live we are stuck with this company.

    Like others here, the other night my picture just froze up right in the middle of a Heat game. Missed the whole game because this company can’t provide decent service.

    Guaranteed that no credit will be applied to my account.

    Comcast is bad news. They make me sick.
    SIRUS is crooked in its billing.
    FPL has so many blackouts that I have lost track on those bastards.
    The Sun Sentinel has so many different rates that it’s impossible to figure out what you are really paying.
    All of these big companies stink.
    Customer service stinks.
    But to answer your question, COMCAST is worse.

    Got XM to give me a deal for $25 for 6 months. Make sure you make them send you a paper bill, never give them a credit card. If they get your credit card, you will find your bill to be astronomical once the intro price ends. I had to battle them for months to get that reversed. XM is a crappy company to do business with.
    That said, COMCAST is the worse. It seems like almost evry day there is a problem with the cable service. Many of you may not be night owls but I use my computer late at night and into the early morning. You have no idea how many times the internet is out at that time. I have no idea what these guys do but I think they are doing maintenance. They really don’t care that people use the internet at odd hours.
    COMCAST stinks.

      OOP, I had 2 blackouts on internet one yesterday and one today. They last a few seconds, but they really destroy everything that I was working on at the time. Don’t know what the hell is going on, but Comcast is really bad news.
