Matteo’s Restaurant (Boca Raton, Hallandale)
***** Matteo’s Restaurant, 233 South Federal Highway, Boca Raton Florida 33432, (561) 392-0773—&—1825 East Hallandale Boulevard, Hallandale, Florida 33009, (954) 455-4050.
Certain things in life bear repeating…
Matteo’s with locations in Boca Raton, Hallandale is one of the best Italian restaurants in South Florida.
If you check…Back on March 19, 2008, I did a writeup on Matteo’s. I absolutely love this joint.You can check Matteo’s menu/prices at www.matteosristorante.com.
Matteo’s has 2 South Florida locations…Boca Raton, Hallandale…on average, I am probably in either the Boca or Hallandale joints at least once a month.
Matteo’s food is delicious. Matteo’s service is outstanding. Matteo’s prices are not-exactly “cheap,” but if you’re sensible when ordering, you won’t need a second job to pay the bill…Matteo’s features both family-style and individual portions. Matteo’s is a “white-tablecloth” joint, but your tee shirt/shorts ensemble will work.
Matteo’s started out as a Long Island joint…check the website for NY locations etc…Not exactly sure when its first S. Florida location (Boca Raton) opened, but from day-one Matteo’s has been a “homerun”…its enormous NY following, translated into an enormous South Florida following.
Look…I could go on and on about this joint…
I am telling you, that if you want terrific Italian food, served by a professional staff…with a management team that makes you feel like you are family…then you want to absolutely positively eat at Matteo’s.
You now know “again” about a sensational Italian joint that is not to be missed.

Matteo’s is a Southern Italian Restaurant. Matteo’s has 2 South Florida locations. Matteo’s is not cheap, but you won’t go to the poor-house, if you order sensibly. Matteo’s serves both family-style and individual sized portions. Matteo’s food is absolutely sensational. Matteo’s wait-staff is probably the best in all of South Florida. Matteo’s is always jammed.
Check Matteo’s website www.matteosrestaurants.com for menu/pricing/details.
Matteo’s is one of my favorite Italian Restaurants.
End of story.
hands down some of best food in fl.
Dinner last night at Matteo’s Boca location. Can’t beat its baked clams.
I see that Entourage is pushing Don Peppe’s from S. Ozone Park real hard. Peppe’s food is great but I’d match Matteo’s baked clams against theirs any day of the week.
boca matteo’s rocks.
clams are incredible.
Was there last Saturday night in Boca. Waiting 3 fold at the bar for tables.
Best baked clams and chopped salad going.
Had the the grilled pork chops and they were fabulous as was the burnt broccholi.
food not the same since mickey left. going to try luca bella.
Matteo’s is heads and shoulders over the other Italian restaurants in Boca.
I’ve been to tons of them and this joint never misses.
I like the service and the vibe in the air.
It’s always busy and a happening place.
terrific food and service.
For those unfamilar with Matteo’s, you got to try it.
I have been eating at Matteo’s for years, starting with LI and now here in Boca Raton.
Think of a well oiled machine and you got Matteo’s.
From the moment you walk into, in this case the Boca store, there is an energy that actually gets you excited.
I really can’t put my finger as to why, but as soon as you walk in the front door, you feel welcomed and excited about being there.
Matteo’s waiters know the menu cold and to the newcomers recommend what and how much to order. Amazingly, most of the waiters don’t even write down the orders, yet when they bring the food to the table, you get exactly what you ordered. These guys are the consummate pros.
In the Boca store, there are two managers watching everything and the amount of food that comes out of the kitchen is staggering.
The food is always good. The quality superb.
Enough said.
If you haven’t tried Matteo’s, you have to go.
jeff, like you i love this one.
it has great food and great service.
the gm peter has this joint really humming.
i’d match boca loc against any italian rest in s fl.
sorry jeff, matteo’s isn’t the best around. actually far from it. renzo’s in boca is better. tramonti’s in delray is better. vic & angelo’s in delray is better. just to name a few.
Jeff, I know that you have heard that Julio is opening a new place where Matteo’s use to be in Boca. He took over Capri which failed in that same spot. No question he’ll try to copy Matteo’s here. Any thoughts on this?
julio is already out of business,
One of the best Italian restaurants in Fla.
Ate there (Boca) this evening Christmas Eve. One hour wait to get in at 7:30pm. Been there many times in the past and the food is always just right. same tonight. With huge parties and portions everything was still delicious.
If you haven’t tryied Matteo’s you really are missing a great restaurant. By the way, saw Congressman West and his family there this eveing. The guy is doing a great job for Florida.
the baked clams are the best i’ve ever eaten.
Jeff:
Matteo’s is consistently terrific. What more could a customer ask?
By the way, did you know that Matteo’s was recently sold to Sbarro’s?
Ate at Boca Matteo’s this evening. Had never been there before. Baked clams and veal parm outstanding. Didn’t care for chicken matteo which was extremely dry.
best italian in boca raton.
Matteo’s Boca is so good.
We just ate at Matteos last night the place was packed. The food and service were top notch. We are always welcomed by Peter no matter how busy the place is which is a great feeling.
LARRY: So right. Food and service are the best. My wife and family and have been going to Boca Matteo’s since it first opened. Peter definitely has Matteo’s running like a fine watch. He also looks the part and gives the restaurant a great vibe and feel.
Matteo’s in Boca is one the best Italian restaurants in Florida. My wife and I love the food and service. This is our go to place.
Jeff Eats: not exactly sure where I read this on the site but the person was so right.
Some owners know how to treat customers and some don’t.
Matteo’s in Boca and Hallandale know how to treat their their customers. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, the managers, and waitstaff are as pleasant as can be. In both locations, the mgrs always come over to the tables to see how things are going. Every so often a drink or a dessert is on the house. Real class and I return the favor of being a good customer.
Other places may have ood food but the owners are never personal or make the rounds. One that comes to mind is one of your favorites Chri’s in Lake Worth. Great food but the owner has nver walked over to my table ever and the place is run like a factory.
Just my 2 cents.
Thanks.
Love the site.
If I had to eat a last meal, I would eat it at Matteo’s in Boca Raton.
Enough said!
ted, i’m with you.
i love boca matteo’s.
vibe, service, food.
everything is just right.
If I had to pick just one, Matteo’s would be it .
my two favorite boca italian restaurants, matteo’s and trattoria romano.
Jeff, food is good but far from being the best in Boca. Personally I think that Renzo’s runs circles around it.
Love the Boca loc. Great food and service.
Was at Matteos the other night, the place was packed other places open and close and we all all try them but year after year they are still the best. Matteos has the best food and is run to perfection.
We were at Matteos last night. I am amazed at what goes on there, the restaurant was as jammed as ever the food came out hot and great Peter and his assts. were running around they make it look so easy. we love going there and get treated and feed by he and his staff.
This is my favorite Italian restaurant. There are a load of good ones in Boca but I find Matteo’s to be consistently great on food and service. That’s the reason that it’s always busy.
I like Matteo’s but think that Cas D”Angelo’s in Boca is better on an all around basis.
Matteo’s food is delicious. Service is terrific.
You know what a go to place is? Well Matteo’s is mine.
Great food and service, all of the time.
Original from Plainview NY.
Have eaten at Matteo’s here in Fl and of course on LI.
Food has always been good with great service.
Really enjoy the Boca and Hallandale outposts.
Love the Boca Matteo’s.
Peter the GM always make sure that everything is just right.
A lot of good Italian restaurants in Boca. Matteo’s is one of the best.
Like many here Matteo’s in Boca is one of my favorites. I havent been to the Hallandale location.
The amount of delicious food that it turns out every night is amazing.
The waiters are outstanding.
I know that Matteo’s was recently sold.
I see new signage and new menu items.
Even so, the quality of food and service has remained top notch.
My wife and I eat there quite often and have never been disappointed.
I think that one of the main reasons why Matteo’s never misses is because GM Peter keeps a very close eye on everything going on there. He is all over the restaurant making sure that everybody is enjoying themselves.
We ate at Matteos last night for Mothers Day, and I must say they never let us down the place we jammed we waited about 10 mins for our table (we were 15 people) Peter sat us talked for a minute and went back to the tables. The food was outstanding came out hot and great. We had a birthday at the table, the entire staff came over and sang to my 90 year old mother it was amazing. when we left all the ladies were given roses what a great touch. Jeff I agree with you it is the best run and best italian food in Boca.
Terrific food. Terrific service.
Originally from Woodmere.
I and my husband are very familar with Matteo’s from LI and in Boca Raton.
Matteo’s has a huge NY reputation.
Over the years in Florida we probably have eaten in Boca’s restaurant 20 times. The food and service have always been superb. Very rare to find a restaurant where every waiter is excellent but Matteo’s seems to have accomplished that.
There are other good Italian restaurants in Florida. What makes Matteo’s special for me and my husband is its NY vibe and connection. Can’t really give you a definition but its an attitude that only us New Yorkers give.
If you havent tried Matteo’s give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
One of all time favorites.
Love the food and service in Boca.
This restaurant never disappoints.
My favorite Italian restaurants in Florida are Matteo’s in Boca and Anthony’s Runway 84 in Fort Lauderdale. They have that certain ambiance that reminds me in a good way as to why I loved the Sopranos. Throw in great food and it all works.
Just ate with my family for Father’s Day at Matteo’s in Hallandale. Fabulous food and great service and my daughter picked up the check. Perfect meal.
My family and I recently ate at Boca Matteo’s. Food is excellent as is the service. Of particular note they make a grilled pork chop which was one of the best that I’ve ever had.
Just got back from a 2 week stay in Long Beach. Was in local Matteo’s twice. Great food.
Amazingly always consistent whether here in Boca or Hallandale or in NY.
Had Father’s Day at Matteo’s in Hallandale.
Delicious food and wonderful service.
These guys really know how to run a restaurant.
They greet you warmly at the door and the waiters make you seel right at home.
If you order too much the waiters tell you so.
Jeff,
You are 100% right. Food and service are top shelf at Matteo’s.
Love the Boca Matteo’s. Really great food and service.
Friends took us last night to Boca Matteo’s. Previously my husband and I had eaten in Hallandale restaurant.
Boca store is probably3 times as big.
Great looking store.
For a Summer night at 8pm when we arrived it was packed.
The food is terrific just like Hallanadle.
Same for the service.
Hands down best Italian food in Boca.
Have to agree with you, definitely best Italian food in Boca.
The baked clams are worth a trip alone.
The only other pace that even comes lose is Don Pepe’s in Queens NY. And that’s no lie.
