Jacob’s Restaurant & Delicatessen (Boynton Beach)

Posted on July 17th, 2009 · American Boynton Beach Breakfast Delicatessen

Jacob’s Restaurant & Delicatessen, 3861 West Woolbright Road, Boynton Beach, Florida 33436 (561) 734-9195.

Jacob’s is one of those “bagel-deli” joints that dot the South Florida landscape. This joint does breakfast-lunch-dinner. It’s got all of the “standard” food stuff and “bargain” pricing.

Absolutely nothing special here. Tried Jacob’s twice…once for breakfast and once for dinner. Let’s call it OK…just off the top of my head, I can name 4 bagel-deli joints (that do breakfast-lunch-dinner) in the area that are better…in no particular order, 3 G’s (Delray Beach)–Elbaum’s (Delray Beach)–Poppie’s (Delray Beach)–Gourmet (Lake Worth).

Just so you know, my “sampling” included plain bagel/with cream cheese, scambled eggs, tuna salad, brisket, corned beef and pastrami. Like I said before, OK…but nothing that I would write home about.

You now know what Jeff Eats thinks…

I am originally from the Bronx,N.Y.and have traveled all over the country as well as t the world.Apart from the eateries in my hometown,Jacobs is by far the best deli in all of south Florida, bar none. I travel about 35-45 minutes to the samplings at this fine eating establishment.

marksays I WOULD REMIND HIM THAT THE WHOLE ECONOMY TANKED WHEN JACOBS WEST
CLOSED ITS DOORS AND HOMES WERE NOT BE BUILT. WE WERE THERE FOR OVER 3 YEARS MY FRIEND AND EVERYONE WAS SORRY TO SEE US GO. THE STORE REMAINS VACANT BECAUSE OF THIS ECONOMY AND THE HUGE COSTS OF LEASING IT. AS FOR JACOBS IN BOYNTON WE REMAIN STRONG AFTER 15 YEARS IN THIS LOCATION. OTHERS WILL COME AND GO. WE OFFER QUALITY HOMEMADE FOODS AND WE ARE NOT A BAGEL STORE. OUR DINNER BUSINESS IS OUR MOST LUCRATIVE TIME. TRY US AGAIN AND SEE.WHAT I MEAN. ESPECIALLY TRY OUR STUFFED CABBAGE, BLINTZES,CHOP LIVER AS WELL AS OUR HOMEMADE SOUPS AND CORNED BEEF WHICH WEVE BEEN TOLD IS THE BEST OF ANY OF THE DELI RESTAURANTS. WE DO A BIG CATERING BUSINESS AND OUR CUSTOMERS COME FROM FAR AND NEAR.

JEFF, MAYBE YOU SHOULD COME BACK TO JACOBS DELI IN BOYNTON AND TRY US AGAIN. MAYBE YOU HAD A BAD TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH BEFORE YOU CAME TO EAT. AFTER 15 YEARS IN BUSINESS AT THIS LOCATION MAYBE YOU ARE THE ODD BALL WHO CANT TELL GOOD FROM BAD. WE HAD MANY BUSINESSES IN MANHATTAN AND ONE VERY FAMOUS ONE CALLED THE COURT DELI ACROSS FROM THE BRONX SUPREME COURT AND JUST 2 BLOCKS FROM YANKEE STADIUM. YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE WE HAVE IN THIS BUSINESS AND YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A BLOGGER WHO KNOWS NOTHING EXCEPT WHAT YOU ARE GIVEN FOR A GOOD REVIEW. RUVENS WILL GO JUST AS THE OTHER 3 OR 4 BEFORE HIM IN THAT LOCATION. WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS AND WHO SURVIVES AND YOU WILL KNOW THAT YOUR REVIEWS CARRY NO WEIGHT AT ALL. ALSO, WHAT MAKES YOU A FOOD EXPERT. TELL ME WHAT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS ARE BESIDES BEING FROM BROOKLYN. LETS SEE IF YOU CAN RESPOND TO THAT LAST QUESTION. OTHERWISE YOU ARE A NOBODY IN THE FOOD BUSINESS.

      ELAINE:

Just had a chance to read your post.

First— Please, tell me what you really think of Jeff Eats.

Second- Since I control what “comments” appear here and which ones don’t, I obviously have no problem with you speaking your mind to me and poster Mark.

Third- If as you say, I am a food blogger who knows nothing and that my reviews carry no weight, why in the world are you so “busy” writing to me?

      Thanks for reading,

      Jeff Eats.

I agree with you Jeff…tried Jacob’s and wished I had read your review sooner…one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a deli-restaurant…the food was awful….would never go back.
