TooJay’s Gourmet Deli (Boca Raton)
***** TooJay’s Gourmet Deli, 3013 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33496 (561) 997-9911.
TooJay’s is a “New York Style” deli…which has 27 locations in Florida. If you check its website www.toojays.com in addition to menu/prices you will find a listing of locations.
Just so we are straight…TooJay’s is not a top-notch deli in the same vein as joints like Pastrami Queen, Ben’s Kosher Deli or Pomperdale Deli. Simply put, TooJay’s serves decent enough food at very reasonable prices. Nothing great, but nothing terrible.
Over the past 16 years, I must have eaten in/taken-out from a TooJay’s something like 25-30 times…let’s just say, that convenience more than anything else was the “reason why”…as there are 3- locations all within 5 minutes of my home.
Let’s sum this one up…NY style deli, loads of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, meat/chicken/fish entrees and desserts…decent food…reasonable prices. When I “think” TooJay’s I think white bread…not rye bread.
TooJay’s is open 7 days a week for breakfast-lunch-dinner.
Originally from Brooklyn. The only decent delis in Florida are Pastrami Queen in Boca and Pomperdales in Ft Lauderdale. Ben’s in Boca has decent deli but the rest of the food is crap.
Too Jay’s food is merely passable. Its cheap but the quality is sorely lacking. Good bagels at Sage in Hallandale and Way Beyond Bagels in Boca.

Funny thing you say more like “white bread” however they don’t even carry it a there stores. The fresh hot rye bread is always a winner.
All TooJay’s rye bread is frozen and re-heated there. NOT FRESH RYE.
Jeff,
You are right on the point. The food is ok, the prices ok, but nothing special here. Lots of locations but that’s about it.
TooJay’s food isn’t very good. If you know what good Ny Kosher Style Deli is all about, you will know that TooJay’s is baically garbage. The food is all prepared in an off premises commissary. Nothing is made in the store. Even the meats are presliced and then delivered to the store.
If you like good deli, just save your money and don’t go there.
best rye bread. sorry, food is better tnan ben’s.
had their chopped liver on rye yesterday, very good.
Have always treated Too Jay’s as a place to get food from because it’s close to my home. If I had to travel i wouldn’t go.
I think that the two best delis in S. Fl are Zinger’s in Boca Raton and The Pomperdale in Fort Lauderdale.
terrible bagels.
they dont make them on premises.
food is ok, but nothing great.
good matzoh ball soup. rest of food is just passable.
Jeff,
Last night I picked up some chopped liver and rye bread at Too Jay’s in Regency Court, Boca Raton. I got there about 7:30pm and the line to get in and pickup was out the door.
They got some business at this location.
The chopped liver and bread was terrific.
My wife and I eat at Too Jays on Yamato Rd. at least 2x a month. The food is ok. The prices very reasonable. AND they allow my dog to sit and eat with us on the outdoor patio.
Ate at Yamato Rd Too Jay’s on Saturday. Food was decent enough. Prices are right. Best part of the meal is its rye bread which was delicious.
The food is second rate.
this is a poor excuse for ny style deli.
dont waste your money.
This afternoon I had a pastrami with chopped liver on rye. Pretty good sandwich.
Jeff
Wife and I ate at store on Yamato in Boca.
Brisket with potato pancakes
Turkey with sweet potato fries.
Food is just ok.
Nothing special
Too Jay’s food is garbage.
The service is terrible.
People go there because its cheap and has coupons galore.
You want good deli go to ben’s or Zinger’s both in Boca Raton.
Once again, Too Jay’s is a lot of food for reasonable money but the stuff they sell is GARBAGE.
Too Jays brings back the great New York Style deli food from the past. The food and service is excellent and the prices are low. The menu is great. I give Too Jays a 5 Star Excellent rating. By Gregg L. Friedman MD, Psychiatrist, Hallandale Beach, FL
Anyone who thinks that Too jay’s food is good doesn’t know the first thing about what good deli is.
Had brisket w potato pancakes and the only way to describe the dish, garbage!
Hey Jeff, you got Too Jay’s figured out right on the money. The food is ok but nothing great. It is priced right and you do get a lot of it for your money. No way no how is in the league of real delis like Ben’s in Boca, Zinger’s in Boca or Pomperdale in Fort Lauderdale.
Ate in Boca at a Yamato Rd and enjoyed 2 hot dogs w ff.
Jeff, you were too rough on Too Jay’s. the food is very good and very fairly priced.
Mediocre food.
I agree with you 100% the food is very mediocre.
My wife and I ate there.
Had a turkey on rye and it was dry and tasteless.
My wife had roast chicken and enjoyed it.
Mediocre food.
Not too good.
My wife and I ate breakfast there this morning.
Not too good, western omelette and bacon & cheese omelette, home fries, rye toast, et bagel, 2 coffees, 28 bucks with tip. Eggs undercooked as were the potatoes and bagel was lousy. Service fair.
Won’t be back.
How this joint has so many stores is beyond me.
Food is just passable.
Food is ok, but that’s about it .
