Arnold’s Royal Castle (North Miami)
***** Arnold’s Royal Castle, 12490 NW 7th Avenue, North Miami, Florida 33168 (305) 681-5346.
I really don’t have the time or inclination, to tell you the history of the Royal Castle fast-food hamburger chain which first opened for business in 1937…or how it eventually went bankrupt leaving just a couple of South Florida outlets open…not to mention, the convoluted story about the “subject” Royal Castle which opened in 1956–was bought by Wayne Arnold in 1982–burned down on August 30, 2005–reopened on January 16, 2009…nor the phenonemenal birch-beer or breakfasts that this 24 hours-a day counter-joint serves. Nor, am I going to tell you about the “Castleburger”… one of the most delicious sliders “mini-burgers” that you will probably ever eat.
Just not going to do it!
jeffeats: I was raised on Royal Castle’s burgers. You northern folks had White Castle and us southern boys had Royal Castle. Nothing and I do mean nothing beats a Castleburger and an ice cold Birch Beer. So glad that Royal is back in business. You guys have to try it sometime.
Although it was rebilt after the fire Royal is as good as it was 50 years ago. Yep, I have been going to this for years.
welcome back. best sliders.
I used to go to the Royal Castle on NW 79th street about every day back in the 70’s. I know where the one is on nw 7 avenue but haven’t been there in a long time. I think I’ll stop by and see if they’re still as good as lots of people say…yum. I smell the onions now…

HOW COME NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THE WHITE HOTS! They are even BETTER than the sliders. Although a combination thereof seems to be the best choice. WAYNE!! I NEED TO KNOW HOW YOU MAKE THAT MEAT SAUCE FOR THE WHITE HOTS!!! I am in Atlanta and MUST….HAVE….WHITE… HOTS….
I live in North Carolina and I am trying to get my hands on some of those tasty Royal Castle hamburgers and some birch beer that I grew up on. Does anyone have any connections down there and can hook me up? PLEEEEASE ! !
Castle burgers are not the best burgers (mini) you will ever eat. I lived in Miami all my life and royal castle burgers are the best there ever will be. I have eatten at the Arnold’s Royal Castle before as a matter of fact my brother got robbed at the red light there many many years ago. I have also eatten at the original Royal Castle on 79th street and NW 27th ave. in Miami many a many of times and they are the bomb. What I miss is the original Birch Beer. There was a place in Hialeah Florida that made the original Bich Beer when I was a kid and of course they went outta business they should bring back the Birch Beer. The nearest thing I have found to the Birch Beer is the so called Root Beer they have at Wendy’s Restaurant. It is almost identical it is red just like the original Birch Neer and taste almost the same.
Ms Sweeting, we have Birch Beer just like Royal Castle used to serve and we serve the Birch Beer in a giant frozen mug. We also give free refills. Hope you will stop in again and please ask for our delicious ol’ fashion Birch Beer served in a frozen mug. Thanks again.
I understand you worked for Royal Castle and opened your own in Miami but are now out of business, I would love to talk to you about bringing back this piece of South Florida history
We are opened today Thanksgiving and we will be open all day and nite on Christmas. Arnold’s Royal Castle never closes. We are at 12490 N.W. 7th. Avenue (one block west of I-95) in North Miami. Always Open….Always Great! 305-681-5346
I absolutely love the food from Royal Castle (especially at 3 a.m.), but I must disagree with the trained staff comment. They could really use re-training. I stopped going there for at least a month when I called ahead of time to place an order and when I went to pick it up it was not ready. I ended up waiting a total of 1 hr and told them to cancel my order. Not even an apology did I receive. I will continue to dine in/out at Royal Castle, but if I place an order I do not pick it up without confirming first (which I shouldnt have to do, but someone needs to be on the ball).
Best sliders going.
Born and bred Miamian here.
Try Arnold’s. You will love it.
