The Pastrami Club is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. The Pastrami Club (which has been around since 1985), is one of the “best” New York “Kosher Style Delis” in South Florida. Over the years I have “fressed” on this joint’s pastrami, corned beef, turkey (off the frame) and brisket sandwiches and loved each and every bite.
Cardiologists tell you to stay away from joints like this… last week I saw mine stuffing his face with a fatty corned beef on rye with a potato knish. “Do as I say, don’t do as I do.”
I am telling you, that you “gotta” try this joint. The combination of great food and “old” deli decor (red booths and formica tables), will remind you of what delis are “suppose to be all about.”
Check-out this joint’s website at www.pastramiclub.com for menu/prices.
End of story.
I eat at the Pastrami Club once a week. It is by far the best authentic Jewish Deli in all of South Florida. The owner is “half Jewish” but has mastered the art of Deli.
Yesterday was our first time at Pastrami Club. Best pastrami and corned beef I have had in a vey long time.
My own corned beef is better than Pastrami Club’s. And so was the corned beef served at Field’s irish restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. I kept thinking I was wrong, maybe I am misunderstanding Pastrami Club, so I tried going back and tried different dishes, (very eh), but I will no longer go there because the waitresses are rude and brusque, the food so-so, and I don’t like the annoyed glares and growls from the waitresses as if they’re doing us a favor to serve us. I’d rather go nearby to Inverrary Diner (they have delicious chicken matzo ball soup) and at least get a friendlier server. If this Pastrami Club is what a NY Deli is like, spare me from NY Deli’s. I guess we were in southern states between NY and Florida too long and we expect service with a smile and a big, warm, friendly hello, “Hi, y’all, good to see ya!” routine rather than a brusque, rough and unsmiling attitude along with what I considered mediocre food.
food is fair and the place is dirty.
The Pastrami Club combines great deli food with a friendly staff and good service. I really enjoyed my sandwich and I look forward to my next meal with them. By Gregg L. Friedman MD, Psychiatrist, Hallandale Beach, FL
