Nino’s Pizzeria & Restaurant (Boca Raton & Delray Beach)
***** Nino’s Pizzeria & Restaurant, 7120 Beracasa Way, Boca Raton, Florida 33433, (561) 392-9075—&—13900 South Jog Road, Delray Beach, Florida 33445, (561) 499-3988
Nino’s is one of my favorite “mom and pop” Southern Italian joints in South Florida. I could be going out on a limb here, but I think that after you have tried this joint, you will also become a big fan.
Just so you know, the Boca Raton location has been around for something like 25 years…the Delray Beach location has been in business for about 3 years. Over the years, I have eaten in the Boca location something like 30 times and the Delray location twice…although the menus are almost identical, I like the food, ambiance and service in the Boca restaurant better…call me a creature of habit, but I really feel at home when I enter the Boca joint…from the way I am greeted at the front door, to Nino the owner waving and talking from behind the pizza counter to the customers…the food and service in Delray Beach is just fine, but there is something “special” about the Boca location.
Although Nino’s seemingly “follows” the standard pattern…Soup or salad, garlic rolls, entree with a pasta side…this joint makes some of the most delicious dishes and pizza that you have ever eaten. I would personally match its veal chop parmigiana—bone in chicken cacciatore— bone in chicken scapriello—shrimp scampi entrees against any Italian restaurant down here in South Florida.
Like I said before, Nino’s has been around for something like 25 years. The Boca Raton joint is jammed for dinner 7-days a week and has a takeout business that seems to be never ending. The Delray Beach spot has also developed quite a following…but my heart belongs to the Boca joint. Both joints are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
Great food. Great service. Pizza joint prices…
By the way, Nino and his wife Josephine own Josephine’s Italian Restaurant which is located on Federal Highway in Boca Raton. That’s a story for another day…but Josephine’s is a very good “white table cloth” joint.
Last week I and my wife ate at the Nino’s in Delray Beach. For 18 bucks I had a soup, garlic knows, pasta side and a veal chop parmigiana. That’s an incredible value for some absolutely delicious food. My wife had the bone in chicken scarpirello which was big enough to feed 3 people, no kidding. I have eaten in both Nino’s locations and both are amazing. These restaurants are heads and shoulders above the other mom and pop Italian restaurants.
Over the past several weeks I have eaten in the Nino’s in Boca Raton twice and the Nino’s in Delray Beach 3 times. The menus are almost identical but the prices in the Delray Beach store are 1-2-3-4 dollars cheaper per item. For example that veal chop that you mention is $22 in Boca and $18 in Delray. The food in both stores is delicious and the food seems to be the same in both stores. You are right when you wrote that these restaurants are top notch mom and pop “joint.” Someone told me, that both were once owned by Nino and a partner, but that the partnership recently ended and Nino owns the one in Delray and his partner now owns the Boca store 100%. Whatever the story both are excellent and very well priced and staffed.
Ate the other night at Nino’s in Boca Raton. I had a chicken cacciatore dish and my son had a veal parm hero and both were delicious. I have to agree with you that this one of the best mom and pop Italian restaurants in S. Fla. Just thought I would also mention that I have eaten in the Delray store and its food is as good as the Boca Raton one. Also the portions are large and the prices very fair.
I work right down the road from the Boca store and live right down the road from the Delray store. The best of both worlds. Pizza is outrageously delicious.
Jeff, if you go into Nino’s tell him you are a friend of the guy who runs http://www.worstpizza.com, and ask him to make you the special pie. It is AMAZING! Marco is the guys name who runs it, then email me and let me know what you think, or we could go together one day.
Hi JeffEats, Based on your blog I tried both of the Nino’s. The food is almost the same but the Delray location is a bit cheaper. I didn’t care for the pizza in Boca but loved the pizza in Delray. Go figure! You are correct when you said that these are terrific mom & pop “joints.” The veal parmigiana is delicious and an unbelieveable bargain. Great pick.
I eat in both locations.
They make excellent pizza.
Can’t recall one bad meal at either store.
lapp: Spoke to Marco last night and he told me that if I call him in advance, he will make me a “special pie.” Thanks for the tip and after I try it, I’ll let you know what I think.
Jeff Eats: Friends took us to Nino’s last night. They have been eating at the original store in Boca for about 20 years and told us that the food was great. Got to agree with them 1000 percent. We had a pizza that was perfect. It reminded me and my husband of the slices that we use to eat in Queens that cost 15 cents back in the 1960s. The pizza was thin crusted and had the most delicious sweet sauce and bubbly cheese.
The table also had a veal chop parmigiana, shrimp scampi, baked clams, mussels, minestrone soup and garlic knots. Everything was delicious.
Obviously people know how good Nino’s is because when we got there at 7 it was jammed and when we left at 8 it jammed with people waiting for tables. The takeout counter was busy when we were there.
From reading your site we know that you are abig fan of Nino’s. Just thought you would like to hear that we agree with you and really enjoy your picks.
Thanks,

LOVE BOCA NINO’S ALSO LOVE MATTEO’S.
I think it is a close call between Nino’s and Dominic’s II as to which is the best place in Boca. I think that Nino’s wins by a hair.
Heard about this one from reading your blog. Have been in Boca for about 1 1/2 years and have tried a lot of others like Dominic’s 1 & 11 as well as Stallone’s, Augy’s, Pizza Time in Coral Springs.
Ate Friday night in Boca store right off of Palmetto Rd. Food beats the other places I mentioned by a mile.
Not going to list entire meal, but the pizza that everyone shared is as good as the best pizza I use to eat in Brooklyn before moving south.
Keep them coming.
Jeff Eats, dinner for 4 last night at Nino’s in Delray, with wine for all $100. In the past you mentioned the veal chop parmigiana so I gave it a try. For $19 huge delicious pounded chop, bowl of minestrone and a pasta side. Great food and great deal. Others had delicious chicken scarp, veal marslas and shrimp marinara. I almost forgot to mention wonderful hot soft garlic knots. This was our first visit to the Delray restaurant as we have eaten in the other store in Boca for about 10 years.
This is a wonderful restaurant.
incredible pizza at boca store.
best i have had in florida.
both locations have terrific pizza.
My family and I are transplanted New Yorkers. We have been down here for 21 years. Like you, my wife and I both started out in Brooklyn. We have eaten in loads of Italian restaurants here in Florida and up north. Both of Nino’s locations are sensational MOM & POP restaurants. Great food, great prices and great service. There isn’t really too much more that you can ask for.
You have written many times that there are mom and pop places all over the place and like you we have tried many of them. But we keep coming back to Nino’s as it is best of breed.
We know the story about how Nino’s was originally Thick N Thin and how the 2 current locations are owned by former partners. What counts here is the FOOD which can’t be beat.
I can’t tell you how many times we have eaten in Nino’s in Boca but its huge. Since Delray is a much newer location I’m going to guess at 10 times.
If you want great food and absolutely superb pizza and I do mean superb pizza, you have to try Nino’s.
Thanks.

Sausage cacciatore at Nino’s in Boca last night, salty and too soft. Not good. Sorry!
Nino’s in Boca Raton makes one of the best pizzas in Florida. Absolutely deelish.
one of the best mom n pop places, consistently good. love their cacciatore on the bone. both stores are excellent,
Jeff Eats,
My wife and I have lived in Boca Raton for the past 20 years. We are quite familar with a number of the restaurants that you have reviewed.
Nino’s in Boca is by far and away the best mom & pop Italian place that we have eaten in. Nino’s pizza is outstanding. Nino’s menu has dishes that others don’t even attempt like cacciatore and scarpiello on the bone.
If your readers are looking for a really good red sauce no frills meal Nino’s is for them.
The food is always top shelf and the service and prices are just right.
By the way we have also eaten in the Nino’s in Delray and it isn’t as good. It is good, but the Boca location is much better.
jeff
ate at nino’s last night.
food is usually pretty decent.
had a veal chop parm that was awful, ziti side undercooked, garlic rolls stale.
not a good night out.
will not be going back anytime soon.
Nino’s in Boca is one of the better neighborhood Italian restaurants. The one in Delray is good but the Boca location is better. By the way they are not affiliated with different owners who use to be partners. Same basic menus.
What people have to appreciate is that for a neighborhood restaurant with very reasonable prices Nino’s attempts dishes that most places don’t even had. Like lobsters, and veal chops.
Nino’s is my wife and mine’s go to place when we want a real nice meal.
When Nino owned the Boca store the food was delicious. Since the breakup the food in Boca has been going downhill.
was in nino boca last night, not very busy. pizza was thin, crisp and delicious.
delray store is good. boca store is better,
over the christmas holiday tried your recommendation. very good food.
very good food.
cant also go wrong in Boca with dominicks 11, augy’s
boca is better than delray, but they both give you a real good meal for the money,
Jeff,
Both locations make a real good pizza.
Ate there tonight for first time. As good as you said and service was also very good. Delcious veal parm and shrimp scampi.
I think that Nino’s in Boca is one of the best Italian restaurants.Really that simple.
Tried last night. My veal parm was very good. My wife’s veal marsala was also very good.
Hey Jeff, got to agree with you, Nino’s is a terrific “mom & pop” Italian joint. I have lived in Boca for over 4 years and had never been there until I read about it here. Was there last night and the pizza was delicious. My wife’s shrimp scampi and our kids chicken parm were also delicious.
Thanks for the heads up.
veal marsala very bland. the ziti with mainara was too sharp tasting/ garlic rolls weren’t good.
The one in Boca on Palmetto is consistely good.
Been eating here for over 20 years. Consistently delicious food.
The chicken on the bone scarpiello is one of my favorite dishes.
Jeff:
I am a huge Nino’s of Boca fan.
I like many others here have been eating there for years.
The food is always good. Same goes for the service. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. What more can you really ask for?
took out a sicilan pie. too thick, too bready, not very tasty.
boca store’s food is consistently good.
so right. always good.
CONSISTENTLY GOOD. THAT’S THE STORY HERE.
Nino’s on Palmetto Park Road makes great pizza.
I’d match there other dishes like chicken cacciatore and sausage & peppers against the best around.
Try Nino’s it is really good.
You won’t be disappointed!!!!
ZDOG
zdog, agree w/you 100 percent.
nino’s on palmetto has real good food. the one in delray isnt as good.
terrific pizza.
Jeff:
Definitely one of the best neighborhood Italian joints in Boca.
Have been eating there for years and have never had a bad meal.
mr free, you are so right. nino’s is one of the best going.
My wife and I have lived in Boca for 7 years. Last night we finally got around to picking up a plain large pizza from them. Sorry we didn’t get there years ago. One of the best pizzas we have had since moving here from NYC. Looking forward to eating dinner there and trying their pastas etc.
excellent shrimp oregenata
