Ben’s of Boca Raton (Boca Raton)
***** Ben’s of Boca Raton, 9942 Clint Moore Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33496–(561) 470-9963
Ben’s is a KOSHER DELI. This joint opened about 2 years ago and every time that I have been there, there have been lines waiting to dine in and take-out. You native New Yorker’s probably know, that this is the same Ben’s which currently has 6 Long Island locations and 1 Manhattan spot.
DELI is a very funny thing…some people like fatty corned beef and some have to have it extra lean… The point to be made, is that you will have to try Ben’s and decide for yourself as to whether or not you like-love-hate this joint’s food.
Last night I had a great Rumanian Steak smothered in sauteed onions, a piece of stuff derma and a potato pancake. The derma’s gravy was a bit salty, but everything else that I ordered was delicious. I also “sampled” a hot-dog with mustard and sauerkrat, corned beef, brisket, turkey off the bone, pastrami and tongue…all absolutely perfect.
Ben’s is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Like I said before, “deli” is a personal call, so try this joint and decide for yourself if it’s for you. Personally, I love the joint and try to get there once or twice a month.
I thank you for your very nice posting. It is certainly much appreciated. Most of what we have on the menu is made from scratch on the premises. Michael Ross, the very congenial and hard working General Manager would be more than happy to give you a tour of the kitchen so you can see for yourself the production facility where all the knishes, stuffed derma, cabbage, all the homemade salads, fresh cut fries are made.
You would really become a maven although you’re from Brooklyn and know your stuff (my old alma mater, Brooklyn College). Have a great day!
I have eaten at Ben’s 3 times and it has been consistently horrific. Keep away.
Ben’s serves solid food.
I enjoy their deli meats.
By far and away the best deli in Florida. Delicious food and absolutely spotless. A must try!!!!
Love the food and service.
jeff, for a few years i went to ben’s but stopped going because pastrami queen opened. now that pq is closed i am back at ben’s. it is good but pq was better.
back for the season. ben’s still gets the job done. best deli in s fl.
Jeff:
There are bagle delis and then there are real delis like Ben’s.
You can’t beat Ben’s meats. The brisket, pastrami, corned beef, tongue are outstanding.
The only deli even close to ben’s is the Pomperdale.
There are really only two decent delis in S. Florida namely Ben’s and the Pomperdale. Pastrami Queen use to be right up there with them but recently closed its doors.
Was there for takeout last night around 7pm. Line out the door for seating and at least 10 people on line to takeout food. To say it was busy would be an understatement.
Food we got was excellent. Corned beef, brisket, turkey, pastrami, potato knishes.
Best deli in area.
Only real competitor Pomperdales on Commercial Blvd.
My wife and I had dinner at Ben’s this evening. When we arrived at 6 pm and there was a 30 minute wait for a table. When we left at 7:15 pm there was still a 30 minute wait.
Ben’s food is very good.
We are long time customers here and on LI.
This is probably the best deli in Florida.
We also like the Pomperdale on Commercial Boulevard but it isn’t a full restaurant. There you order at the counter.
For those of you who aren’t familar with Ben’s, try it. You will really enjoy it.
best deli in s fl
mimo, so right. best deli.
by far and away the best deli in s fl.
I agree, Ben’s is the best deli in South Florida. Delicious corned beef. pastrami, brisket, turkey.
I heard they are going to open a ben’s in aventura.
Ate at Ben’s. Food is fair at best.
Brisket and corned beef were dried out.
food is ok.
best delis are ruven’s and pomperdale.
Ate at Ben’s once for a quick lunch, Had a cold hot dog on a stale roll with a sour potato knish.
Overcooked corned beef devoid of any flavor .Not worth the price. One trip there was enough. Now i go to Zinger’s.
Ben’s food is very good.
Zinger’s in boca also has very good food.
These are the best in boca.
Hey Jeff, Ben’s won that best matzah ball contest you wrote about. I like their food. I also like Zinger’s in Boca.
Bens food is very good. It’s the only kosher deli in boca and has a huge built in following because of that.
I enjoy the food.
Jeff,
It’s either Ben’s or Zinger’s for me.
Both do deli the way it’s suppose to be done.
Ben”s food is terrific.
Jeff, My wife and really enjoy eating at Ben’s.
No question in our mind it’s the best NYC Style deli in the area.
Their food is fair at best.
Zinger’s in Boca is much better.
got to disagree with you. ben’s food is as good as zinger’s. in any event they are both favorites of mine.
Ate at Ben’s last night. Very good pastrami and corned beef.
I also like Zinger’s in Boca but think that Ben’s is a drop better.
I just heard that GM Michael is leaving.
I like ben’s food.
Always good.
I use to eat quite regularly at Ben’s. Always enjoyed the food. Two years ago, Zinger’s opened in Boca Raton and since then I have been eating there instead of Ben’s. This evening friends brought kreplach soup, chopped liver, roast chicken and corned beef from ben’s to my home. The food was good but I think that Zinger’s is better.
Food is fair.
Unless you are kosher go to zinger’s in Boca it’s much better.
I have to Ben’s on the Island many times. For some reason the Boca location isn’t as good.
Took out a pastrami on rye w ff.
Won’t be doing that again.
Pastrami was tasteless. The ff were also tasteless.
Food is just fair.
No match for Zinger’s in Boca.
Jeff,
food is good.
service is good.
just like its stores on LI.
Don’t like Ben’s. Food is just fair.
Ben’s is good.
Good chopped liver.
I like Ben’s.
One of the best Kosher delis in Florida.
I really like Ben’s.
Good is always good.
Food is average at best.
If it didn’t draw the kosher crowd it would be a total bust.
Decent kosher deli.
Only one in the area so it has to do,
Ben’s use to be a terrific deli. In recent years it started slipping and now it’s very good. Can’t explain why but the quality of the food seems to have declined not to mention portion size. Ben’s is kosher and is the only kosher deli in the area so it has a loyal customer base but it lost me a few years ago.
Food is just passable.
I’ve been eating at the Boca store for years and never had even close to a bad meal.
Ate lunch there with 4 buddies and we enjoyed everything. Delicious pastrami, brisket, corned beef, chopped liver.
Jeff,
Ben’s use to be terrific.
Recently I have found the food sought of lacking.
I am not kosher so Ive been eating at Zinger’s and I find the food better than Ben’s. If you are kosher Ben’s is the only game in Boca.
I like Ben’s food.
Consistently good.
Definitely one of the best delis in Florida. Have been eating there for years and the food and service has always been very good.
.
Ben’s food is consistently good.
Had brisket on rye w/ French fries. Fries were good and the brisket was like a piece of shoe leather.
Jeff,
My boyfriend and I ate lunch there yesterday, 2 chicken noodle soups, 1 pastrami on rye, 1 corned beef on rye, 1 potato knish, 1 order of french fries. Mediocre at best. This was our first time eating at Ben’s and we won’t be returning so fast.
