Jeff Eats recently received the following comment from ABD…
” Hey Jeff, every month or so in the mail I get courtesy copies of magazines such as City & Shore, The Boca Raton Observer and Boca Delray Life. It seems that every time they run a favorable restaurant review, a few pages later there is an advertisement for the reviewed restaurant. What’s your take on that?”
Just got the April 2012 copy of The Boca Raton Observer. Article about Tea Licious on page 112 and there is adv for Tea Licious on page 128. Boca Delray Life’s March 2012 got a review of NYY Steak on pages 46&47 and has an adv on page 47.
Who in their right mind would trust these reviews?

Don’t know.
Too busy to think about it. I’m still trying to figure out if the birth certificate is legit.
Thanks for reading…
These magazines reviews are as stupid as the guys who are trying to change Brooklyn water into Brooklyn water.
I give absolutely no credibility to the reviews. They are just bought pieces.
Magazines like this publish bogus reviews. They get ads and do reviews. Never believe them .
I find it incredible that a magazine has a favorable review and in the same issue there is an adv for the same restaurant. These guys must be stupid if they think that us readers fall for these bought and paid for reviews.
Got my Boca Raton Observer, yep and saw the article and saw the ad.
ABSURD!!
I’ve been reading this local magazines in my doctors’ offices for years. The restaurant reviews are so phony. They also have the BEST OF THIS and the BEST OF THAT they are also phony.
These magazines’ reviews are as legit as the guys who claim to have a water filtration system that makes local water into the same consistency as Brooklyn’s water.
Those magazines’ restaurant reviews are a waste of time. They are just PR pieces.
The magazines are good for the bathroom. Their glossy paper is also good to pick your teeth with.
As for restaurant reviews LOL.
If one of those papers gives a bad review, the restaurant wont advertise. These days Yelp has more influence than the papers reviews becuase yelp gets more hits. Jeff does a great job in his reviews which are geared to the average person, not somebody who eats at 100.00 a plate dinners all the time.
Every review that I have read in these type of magazines have been bought and paid for with an ad in the magazine. These reviews as far as being legit are 100% useles.
