* Pop, Rock & Doo Wop Live! presents The Duprees.
If you look up the word “smooth” in Webster’s Dictionary, Jeff Eats will bet you a buck that you’ll find a picture of the legendary 50’s-60’s pop singing group The Duprees!
If you haven’t yet seen them, go see them! Nobody and I mean nobody does it better!

2012 marked the 50th anniversary of “You Belong to Me” becoming a national hit.
The legend and the legacy of the Duprees continue today…
The Duprees are known the world over for their romantic interpretations of the most beautiful love songs ever written. They have made a career out of giving new life to old hits. Starting out in the early sixties, in Jersey City, New Jersey, The Duprees were discovered by George Paxton of Coed Records and former big band leader. Impressed with their smooth vocal quality, he had them record Jo Stafford’s 1950’s ballad “You Belong To Me” with Big Band arrangements. It was an instant national hit and the group’s first Million Seller. The unmistakable sound was born and the hits kept coming:
1962 You Belong To Me · 1962 My Own True Love · 1963 Gone With The Wind · 1963 Take Me As I Am · 1963 Why Don’t You Believe Me · 1963 Have You Heard · 1963 Love Eyes · 1963 It’s No Sin · 1963 The Sand And The Sea · 1964 It Isn’t Fair · 1966 Let Them Talk · 1966 Exodus

Jeff,
Just thought you’d like to know that the Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton has a huge show booked on 3/3/17 with Jay & The Americans, The Duprees and Charlie Thomas’ Drifters. The price for club members is $75 a person plus tax and tip. The Ballroom can hold 750 people and is totally sold out. By the way, that $75 includes a full buffet dinner/signature bar.
My wife and I have seen all 3 acts, and they are all terrific.
I saw them last year at they were terrific.
Smooth is right.
If you haven’t seen them, don’t miss them.
What ever happen to lead singer Riche Rosato?
I saw The Duprees a year or so ago at the Plaza Ballroom in Palm Beach. This is a show not to be missed.
The Duprees are a terrific act.
Although the current lineup has no original members, I can’t think of a group out there that does 50s and 60s Doo Wop better.
Go see them, you won’t be disappointed.
Janey,
I’ve seen The Duprees a handful of times and love their act. They really are terrific.
If you get the chance go see The Capris with their new lead singer Michael DAmore. Absolutely amazing group. I recently saw them at Mohegan Sun and DAmore is right up there with the best lead singers that I’ve ever heard. I’m turning 73 this coming Msy so you could say I’ve seen a load of groups in my day.
