Got a good bagel joint for you guys…Broadway Bagels in Plantation which has been around for something like 33 years.
Jeff Eats and a couple of buddies recently ate breakfast there- and I gotta tell you that Broadway Bagels’ deli omelette ($7.99-corned beef/pastrami/Swiss cheese), blueberry pancakes ($6.99) and corned beef hash ($7.99) were all-right on the money! Throw in REAL GOOD sesame, everything and onion bagels- and Jeff Eats would definitely do a second-visit! Just so we are straight with each other, Broadway Bagels isn’t curing cancer or nothing here- the food is good-with its bagels (made the right way- hand rolled/boiled/baked) being the real “keeper” of this tale!-so if you go, BAGELS!

Outrageously (pun intended) good bagels, spreads, breakfast stuff, sandwiches…fancy-schmancy coffees and smoothies. Think bagel…this joint’s 24 (types) bagels are twice the size.
Recent outing had me doing… “everything” with tuna salad, “pumpernickel” with chicken salad, “onion” with egg salad. Like I said before, outrageously good stuff.
Jeff,
Ive been living in Hallandale Beach for over 30 years. Nobody makes better bagels.
Here’s your write up.

Sage Bagel has been around since 1972. I have been stuffing my face at this kosher-style deli since 1972…Governor Crist should declare this joint a State Landmark…Pumpernick’s—gone. Rascal House—gone. Sage is one of the few old-timers still around.
Great bagels. Great appetizing. Great deli meats. Great ambiance. Great everything.
Unfortunately…Sage is about 30 miles from my home, so I can’t “spend” as much time as I would like eating at this joint. I try to get down to the Sage at least 5-6 times a year for breakfast. Today, I was down in Hallandale checking out the Gulfstream Park casino-development and that gave me the perfect opportunity to stop in at the Sage.
This joint is a throw-back to another time. I am telling you, be smart and make it your business to eat breakfast/lunch at the Sage. It will remind many of you of the days long gone, when there were appetizing stores, neighborhood delis and mom & pop diners.
My 2 cents … Palm Beach Bagels on Clint Moore has the best bagels in the area. So so help.
Stuff A Bagel in Lee County has excellent bagels and Acme whitefish salad. They remind of all the smal bagel shops in central and n Jersey in those little strip centers.
Dirtiest bagel award (drum roll) goes to Utopia on Glades.

Makeb’s Homemade Bagels & Deli…NY style bagel-deli located in West Palm Beach. Check http://www.makebs.com for menu/prices.
Makeb’s has the full-boat of breakfast stuff, soups, salads, sandwiches. A recent test-run had me sampling tuna salad, chicken salad, pastrami, corned beef, grilled chicken, chicken noodle soup…and of course an everything-bagel and a pumpernickel bagel. This joint is a winner.
Makeb’s is one of the better bagel-deli joints that I have eaten in down here in South Florida. The food is real good and the bagels were just-right—crunchy outside, soft inside.
Nothing fancy. Reasonable prices. Bagel-deli service (whatever that is).
I really like this one…Makeb’s is open Monday-Friday 6am-5pm, Saturday 7am-3pm, Sunday 8am-3pm.
My name is Jeff. I was born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. Since 1991, I have lived in South Florida and have eaten in so many restaurants down here, that I now consider myself to be a food expert.
