FLYING PIGS BBQ & MUSIC FESTIVAL – BBQ * BEATLES * BEER (Sunset Cove Amphitheater- Boca Raton)
This article first appeared on October 16, 2015…just a quick update- this Flying Pigs BBQ & Music Festival is a “huge” charity event (“The Flying Pigs BBQ Festival is a program of the Forster Family Food Pantry in support of the Palm Beach County Food Bank as part of United Way of Palm Beach County and CBS12’s PROJECT THANKSGIVING. Our goal is to give 5,000 free turkeys to the Palm Beach County Food Bank which is equivalent to providing 50,000 delicious holiday meals to hungry residents of our communities. Together we WILL make this happen!!! Go to www.flyingpigsbbqfestival.com to learn more about our event and opportunities to become a sponsor or vendor and to purchase tickets.”). Jeff Eats’ suggestion- check Flying Pig’s website- flyingpigsbbqfestival.com for full details and groupon.com for discounted tickets…To be perfectly honest with you guys, I’m thinking that 2- days of Beatles bands, 60’s music, bbq and beer-with FUNDS going to help feed the needy- is definitely something that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats want to be a part of- see you guys out there!

From what I’ve read they are spending $100,000 on adv. throw in ent etc and you would think that they don’t need this festival and should just have used the money to feed the needy. Just a guess but they are going to lose a fortune on this festival. Obviously amateurs running this one. I wish them all kinds of luck but a LOSS is in the cards.
Jeff, looked at the bands and all are from out of state. Seems like some booking agent yanked the promoters’ chain in getting these acts. Promoters have to know that out of state costs way more than local.
I am going with my family on Saturday sounds like its going to be fun.
Jeff,
Somewhere I read that they have a$100,000 radio campaign planned. If so, why didn’t they just buy turkeys with the money and forget about doing a festival?
Jeff,
Like you, I’m in because its for charity.
Just bought tkts on groupon.
Should be a load of fun, good music and food.
My wife and I are going on Sunday.
It sure seems to me that they are spending way too much money to raise funds to buy 5,000 turkeys. I would think that what they have spent on putting this event on far exceeds what 5,000 turkeys cost. I have a feeling that they will lose money on this 2 day event. It looks to me that amateurs are running this whole shooting match.
I bought 2 tkts on groupon. Going later today around 6pm when the sun goes in.
Did you go the the Flying Pig event? We went with friends on Sunday early and the good music did not start until it was getting dart and our friend wanted to leave as they were hungry and did not like BBQ. I wish we had gone later but it was fun anyway.
Jeff,
A freaking disaster.
Maybe at its peak on Saturday night there were 400 people there.
Food was great and so was the music, but there was literally nobody there.
Whoever put this mess together obviously had no idea what they were doing.
God only knows how much money they lost.
I was a vendor there.
Total wipeout.
Never again with these guys.
