Valentine’s Dinner at Diplomat Prime (Hollywood)
* Valentine’s Dinner at Diplomat Prime.
You guys do know that on any given day Jeff Eats receives numerous unsolicited pr- e-mails.
Just got the below pr- e-mail “concerning” a Valentine’s Dinner at Diplomat Prime in Hollywood.
Now, if I’m doing my math right, I’m thinking that this dinner is gonna run close to $440 for two-people.
Jeff Eats is seriously considering being- “removed” from Diplomat Prime’s e-mail list.
Personally, I’d rather make a mortgage payment, car payment, FPL payment, AT&T payment, Comcast payment. HOA payment, student loan payment- than spend $440 on a dinner for-two, but that’s just me!
Come to think of it, based on $440- I could pay this month’s FPL bill and AT&T bill and have enough- left over for a lunch for-2 at Five Guys Burgers & Fries!
Jeff,
You da’ man!
You call it exactly as it is!
Just imagine for a second if you planned on spending $440 in Five Guys. You’d be eating there for days and days.
Good story.
I think I would do my car lease payment and part of my Comcast bill.
I’m in for monthly Comcast bill and gardener’s bill.
Jeff Eats, the only food blog I know that in one breath can go from talking about some dumpy sub joint in Boca and then in the next talk about a $440 Valentine’s Day dinner. You know exactly what you are talking about. The switch in pace and the topics covered and your views make for a great read. I’m with you, waste of money and you’d be better off paying down some bills that wasting that kind of money.
Valentines Day, Mothers Day, News Years Eve., Anyone going to an expensive restaurant on those days is participating in Amateur Night. I enjoy the Joints like you write about and those on Diners, Drive In and Dives, but I also enjoy really great Restaurants for very special rare occaisions. In many of these great restaurants you can get a very similar menu at lunch as the dinner menu at a much lower cost. We’ve done that in Europe and had some spectacular meals at lunch followed by a Pizza for a late dinner.
Just got an email from The Ale House Valentines dinner of 8oz filet mignon and a lobster tail for $29.00
Jeff,
Some people go for this high priced stuff.
Most people don’t and spend the right way.
I think that $440 is kind of stupid.
