Mario The Baker (Sunrise)
***** Mario The Baker, 2220 North University Drive, Sunrise, Florida 33322 (954) 742-3333.
Mario The Baker has been in business since 1973. This “mom and pop” Southern Italian Red Sauce joint is a great place to know about…terrific pizzas, pastas, veal-meat and fish-sea food dishes. You know the drill…soup or salad, garlic rolls, entree, side of pasta.
Let me put it to you this way, you don’t stay in business down here in South Florida for 35 years if you are doing something wrong.
This joint has a tremendous following. Over the years, I must have eaten at Mario The Baker at least 20 times…always busy. Real laid back, so wear your tee shirt/shorts. The garlic rolls alone are worth the price of admission.
Mario The Baker is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
Hi Jeff!
I continue to enjoy your posts on Jeff Eats, especially coming from a fellow New Yorker! I thought you and your readers might be interested in Wine Wednesdays at Carrabba’s Italian Grill (Florida Only!) and a wine naming contest (National), both of which kick off this week.
Last night, Wednesday, July 2nd, Carrabba’s kicked off Wine Wednesdays – $10 off the bottle of your choice – to pair with anything on our menu. Carrabba’s is already known for its affordable, award-winning wine list, and Wine Wednesdays give everyone another reason to celebrate with friends and family.
Taking advantage of Wine Wednesdays may also inspire a creative name for a new, Carrabba’s-exclusive wine debuting this fall from Ruffino. Carrabba’s Italian Grill invites consumers to help name this limited-edition baby Super Tuscan. This is a fun opportunity for one winner to receive a $1,500 epicurean prize package including:
A case of the exclusive Ruffino wine
A catered 2008 holiday celebration for 12
A year’s worth of Carrabba’s dinners in 2009
Entries can be submitted online at http://www.Carrabbas.com until July 31, 2008. Full rules available upon request.
If you would be interested in joining us for Wine Wednesdays and reviewing your dining experience for your readers, I’d love to send you a complimentary dining certificate for two. Please respond with your mailing address if you’d like dinner on us!
Thanks!
Sarah
Sarah: Just had a chance to read your post. Awhile back before Jeffeats’ website crashed, there was a writeup about Carrabba’s which was quite favorable. Unfortunatley it was lost.
I’d love to “try” Carrabba’s again. That said, if I accept your dining certificates and use them, the review that will follow will reflect the actual quality of the dining experience…no matter how it turns out.
Thanks for reading…
good food.
