***** The Fresh Market- $2.99 per lb Beef Ribs.
Just a heads-up, yesterday, The Fresh Market, 5540 North Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida 33496, (561) 994-2221) had Beef Ribs for $2.99 per lb.- Chef Jeff Eats was a buyer coating the ribs with Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Barbecue Sauce and gas bbq-grilling them at 350 degrees for 90 minutes…WALLA!
You guys can check thefreshmarket.com for store locations/product info.
By the way, the jist of this tale- is not that Jeff Eats is some kind of a wizard-cook or something, but rather that the beef ribs were ONLY $2.99 a pound! Just between you guys and Jeff Eats, am I wrong or am I right, that today a 1 scoop ice cream cone costs more than 3 bucks?
Just so you guys know, an 18 oz bottle of Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Barbecue Sauce will run you something like 6 bucks!
You can check sweetbabyrays.com for products/ retail locations.
$2.99 is an absolute steal.
Sweet Baby Ray’s has a number of different flavored sauces. Personally, I love the original which Jeff pictured the best.
Jeff,
You must have some following!
Just called TFM that you mentioned and it’s totally sold out of the beef ribs. Going to check TFM located on 441 in Boca.
Good call on the bbq sauce. I have been using it for years. I love it!
You got me thinking about beef ribs. By the way, beef ribs at Walmart are running close to $9 lb.
Just a suggestion, throw a couple of tablespoons of Gulden’s Mustard into the Baby Ray’s sauce when you are covering the ribs with the sauce. It adds a nice little something to the taste.
Beef ribs sold out.
TFM currently has a $3.99 lb special for baby back ribs!
This morning bought 6 lbs.
Like you and others, I love Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce.
Tonight, cooking the ribs on our gas grill.
Literally, just this minute I bought 5 lbs at $2.99 per lb at Fresh Market on Military Trl in Boca Raton.
The store doesn’t have these ribs all the time, so you have to check with them frequently.
Got 7 lbs of very meaty ribs yesterday at TFM in Boca Raton N. Military location
Made them on my charcoal grill last night with Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Sauce and they were great. At $2.99 they were a great bargain.
Jeff,
Finding these $2.99 Ribs aren’t all that easy.
On my morning walk, I walk right past the FM on N. Military Trl. Since you mentioned these ribs, I stop in and check with the butcher counter and see if it has these ribs. Unfortunately, most days FM doesn’t have any beef ribs at all, not to mention for $2.99lb.
Anyway, this morning on my walk, I checked and the butcher had just brought out 8 lbs of ribs. Which I immediately bought for $2.99lb. I’ll bbq these up, tomorrow night.
By the way, I’ve had these BBQ ribs 2x since you first mentioned them. I use the Sweet Baby Rays Sauce with my gas grill and they are delicious!.
Thanks for a great recommendation.
Rose M,
Just had a chance to read your comment.
Other readers have also “told” me that finding $2.99 beef ribs at FM is not the easiest thing to do!
Keep a secret between us, yesterday morning Mrs. Jeff Eats bought 5lbs at $2.99 at FM on N. Military Trl.
I got a feeling, that with Labor Day coming up this coming Monday, FM just may have a big supply to meet demand. But that’s just a feeling!
Thanks for reading,
Jeff Eats
Got these ribs.
Mostly bone, very little meat.
Two days ago I stopped in The Fresh Market 5540 N. Military Trl in Boca Raton. The store had exactly 6lbs of beef ribs at $2.99 which I bought. The butcher that took care of my order told me that the ribs were a very popular item and that when ever they have them, they sell out very quickly.
When I got home, I marinated the ribs in Sweet Baby Ray’s Sauce overnight, and the following afternoon baked them for 1 hour at 375 degrees. The ribs were very meaty and of mixed sizes. After baking, I finished the ribs off on my gas bbq grill for about 10 minutes on low.
The ribs were absolutely sensational.
Priced at $2.99 a pound they are an absolute steal.
Keep in mind, The Fresh Market doesn’t have them every day and when they do, they sell out very quickly. It may be worth your while, to call The Fresh Market you are going to and make sure that it has them.
Jeff,
You are going to be so proud of me.
Yesterday morning, I found 11 lbs of $2.99 beef ribs at The Fresh Market you mentioned. Bought all of them.
Last night, boiled the ribs for 45 minutes then baked them in Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce for 45 minutes at 375.
Absolutely delicious.
This morning I found 4 lbs at the same market
These ribs are a terrific buy.
FM doesn’t have them all the time. The reason is that the ribs come from the steaks that FM’s butcher trims.
If you are lucky enough to be in a FM that has the ribs, buy all that you can. Don’t worry, they freeze up just fine for future bbqing or broiling.
I like Jeff’s using Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce idea. My whole family loves its sweet taste.
Very tough to find the $2.99 Beef Ribs at the Fresh Market.
Got lucky today and found 7lbs of ribs at the FM 5540 North Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida 33496, (561) 994-2221).
Earlier this morning I stopped in at The Fresh Market on N Military Trail and the butcher had just cut up 5 lbs of ribs. Bought them all. They are priced so right. He told me, that as soon as FM puts them out, they are gone.
Jeff,
These ribs are very hard to find.
FM doesn’t have them every day and on the days that they do have them, then sell out right away!
I have asked both the butchers at FM on Military Trl in Boca Raton and Mission Bay Shopping Center in Boca Raton why these beef ribs are not available most days and both told me that the ribs are the by-product when they cut up steaks for sale.
Since Jeff Eats first mentioned them I managed on 3 occasions to buy ribs. They are a great buy and very meaty. I boiled and then baked/broiled the beefs and they came out absolutely terrific. I used Stubb’s Original Barbecue Sauce which I bought at my local Publix.
I wish FM would have these ribs more often, but what is, is.
Not exactly the same thing, but FM has Beef Short Ribs for $6.99 lb.
I have had the $2.99 beef ribs and they are a great buy. Not easy to find, but they do show up, every now and then.
Here’s a crazy story for you.
My morning walk takes me to the shopping center where FM has a store on Military Trl in Boca Raton.
Yesterday morning I was in FM. I was walking by the meat counter and the butcher yelled out to me, “I just cut up some beef ribs in the back, do you want them? I’ll bring them out.”
And that’s how I got 4lbs yesterday.
Picked up 7lbs this morning.
That was total amount of ribs that FM on Military Trl in Boca Raton had.
Earlier this evening, Ihe ribs were boiled for 40 minutes and then barbecued on my gas grill for 15 minutes. I used Sweet Baby Rays Original BBQ Sauce. The ribs were sensational.
You must think that some of us readers are totally nuts.
Since you first mentioned these ribs, literally every morning I check with TFM on Military Trl and TFM on 441 both in Boca Raton to see if they have ribs. Most days they don’t. This morning I got 7 lbs at the Military Trl.
I got 10 lbs yesterday. That was all they had.
Jeff,
Just wanted to let you know that this beef rib idea of yours was great.
Yesterday I bought 8 lbs of ribs and barbecued them in my ‘secret sauce’ and they were delicious.
As you know, the ribs are the end product of FM’s butchers having trimmed steaks in the market. The ribs are different sizes and amount of meat on each bone is different.
The ribs looked great while cooking and when I brought them to the table my husband and my 11 year old daughter loved the taste and the look of the final product.
Great recommendation and the price couldn’t have been better.
By the way, the 8 lbs was the total amount of ribs that was on display in the butcher counter.
Had these ribs last night.
I used Baby Ray’s Original Sauce and the ribs tasted great,
Priced at $2.99 they were an absolute steal.
Was in FRESH Market this morning to pick up some meats for Memorial Day BBQ. They had a big sale $3.99 on baby back and St Louis Ribs, They also had 6lbs of beef ribs at $2.99 which I grabbed.
Happy Holiday to ALL!
Jeff Eats,
You got me and my family hooked on these ribs.
These ribs are a great bargain. Priced perfectly!
The only problem and it’s a huge problem, is that The Fresh Market doesn’t have them every day and on the days that it does, they have a very limited amount of ribs.
These ribs are the bones that are left over after the butcher trims steaks, Some ribs have a lot of meat on them and some nit so much,
They are absolutely delicious when barbecued or baked/broiled in the oven with bbq sauce.
Since you first mentioned them, I have been on the lookout for them every time I walk by The Fresh Market. As I said before, most days there aren’t any, but on the days that there are some, I literally buy all that are there.
Just so you know, tomorrow we will be BBQing these ribs along with chicken, and burgers.
Bu the way, The Fresh Market cor the past month has been advertising pork ribs and St Louis Ribs for $3.99. We have had both a handful of times and they are delicious.
Not sure about the rest of the readers here, but my family loves Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce on the ribs,
Happy July 4th to you, Mrs. Jeff Eats and all Jeff Eats’ readers.
