Got a real good mom & pop red sauce Italian joint for you guys, Nick’s Pizza in Deerfield Beach.
Now you guys and Jeff Eats both know that mom & pop red sauce Italian joints are literally a dime a dozen down here in sunny Florida- and for that matter- everywhere else in the good old USA! We also know, that some are good, some are real good, some are fair and some are straight-out lousy…well Nick’s Pizza is one of the real good ones!
Long story short, yesterday Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats did lunch at Nick’s and other than for a small dose of “family related drama” the 2 pizza slices/2 salads/1 cheese calzone/1 chicken parm sub/1 veal parm sub- meal went off without a hitch!
If you’re into mom & pop red sauce Italian joints- Jeff Eats can’t see you guys-not liking Nick’s Pizza which is open Monday-Friday 11am-10pm, Saturday-Sunday noon-10pm.
Love its pizza.
Good Pizza
Dave Portnoy gave it a 7.1
pick me
Portnoy also did Tucci’s in Boca and Luigi’s in Ft Laud and Pizza Time in Boca. He liked all of them. He also did Primanti in Ft Laud which he didnt like.
Jeff has reviews for all of them.
he is way ahead of Portnoy.
Here’s jeff on Luigi…

***** Luigi’s Coal Oven Pizza, 1415 East Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301, (954) 990-8647.
Luigi’s Coal Oven Pizza…coal oven pizza, coal oven chicken wings, salads, a handful of appetizers/calzones/sandwiches/desserts—based on the menu, Luigi’s which opened a couple of weeks ago, obviously- isn’t trying to cure cancer or re-invent the wheel.
Let’s talk food—A recent dinner had me “testing”- house salad ($9.95-enough for 3), chicken wings (10 wings $8.95), 16″ tomato pizza pie ($13.95), sausage/peppers/onions panini ($8.95)…Trust me here, everything old Jeff Eats had-was right up there with the best stuff served up-by South Florida’s “other” coal oven pizza joints.
Luigi’s is so new, that it doesn’t-yet have a website. So, sorry…can’t send you anywhere for menu/prices/pictures. Just so you know, it looks “just” like all the rest and its price points, just like all the rest.
Luigi’s is open Monday-Thursday 11am-11pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-3am, Sunday 11am-10pm.
Nick and his family go out of their way to be friendly and gracious. Makes the pie exactly to our specifications.
