Red Pine Restaurant & Bar (Boca Raton)
Red Pine Restaurant & Bar, 1 Town Center, Boca Raton, Florida 33486, (561) 826-7595.
Last night Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “discovered” Red Pine Restaurant & Bar in Boca Raton and I must tell you that this up-scale Chinese joint’s food was absoluety horrendous!
Now, you guys know that this food reviewing “situation” is purely a subjective call- What I like you may hate and vice versa…
Trust me- some of the worse Chinese food (wonton soup, egg rolls, pork dumplings, bbq ribs, roast pork fried rice, General Tso’s chicken and sesame beef) that we’ve had during our 33 years living in Florida!
Like I just said, a subjective call, but one thing I do know for sure -is that an MBA in mathematics is not required to know that pricewise this joint is an absolute rip-off!
You can check menu/prices/info at redpineboca.com.
Ate there a few months ago with a group of friends. Dishes ordered were either tasteless or too salty. Prices were ridiculously high. We won’t be back.
Jeff.
Did takeout from here.
Wonton soup was salty.
Egg fried rice was bland.
Its ribs were tough and grizzly.
Egg roll was passable.
Jeff,
Good call here.
Great looking decor.
Overpriced lousy food.
Jeff Eats,
This is probably why the food stinks,
Restaurant Owner: Mitchell Robbins, who also owns Farmer’s Table, a restaurant in Boca Raton. Bland boring food.
Overpriced crappy Chinese food.
YELP is packed with 5 star reviews.
Something smells very fishy there.
Hey Jeff,
I am really pissed off at you (not really)!
I have been reading you since 2006 and you and I seem to like the same type of food and restaurants. You and me are around the same age and as you know I was born and bred in The Bronx. I especially agree with your picks in the Chinese and Pizza departments.
Long story short, some visiting friends from LI told me that they had heard really good things about Red Pine and wanted to take me there for dinner. Anyway, I checked Jeffeats.com for you’re thoughts and found none. I then real fast checked YELP and there were a ton of 5 star reviews so I told my friends I was in.
What a bunch of sh@t. The food was as you now write HORRENDOUS. Throw in the fact with no liquor involved the bill with tip for 4 adults was $291.00. Roughly the same meal at let’s say at Hunan Garden in Delray Beach with tip would have been around $145 and would also have been delicious.
I now see that one of your other readers mentioned that the guy who owns the Farmers table also owns this joint. If I knew ahead of time i would never have gone to red Pine because the Farmers Table is a joint that also serves pure crap to people who think that they are eating healthy. By the way that same crowd also frequents Whole Foods and look like they live in Biafra.
Next time, do me a favor and get these disaster joints reviewed before I even think of going to them.

My wife and I had Peking Duck that was so fatty that literally after two bites we threw it out.
Egg rolls where encased in an overly thick shell and our General Tso’s chicken wasnt breaded and was just chicken cubes with no taste whatsoever.
I can’t to this day describe how terrible its egg fried rice was. No tatste whatsoever.
This joint is a joke.
Can’t see it staying in business very long.
Jeff Eats
The prices that this joint charges is beyond absurd. Throw in the fact that its food stinks and it tells me that YELP positive reviews are either total bs or South Florida is populated by absolute morons who know nothing about what good Chinese food is all about/
Ive eaten there twice.
I thought that its egg rolls and wonton soup were very good. Its ribs suck as does their dumplings.
Cashew Chicken and walnuts with shrimp were mediocre at best.
Prices through the roof.
No plans for a third visit/
I haven’t been to red pine.
All i can say if red pine is owned and operated by the same guy who owns farmers table my bet is that red pine’s food is lousy because farmers table’s food is lousy. Farmers table supposedly is healthy blah blah blah, and it is literally tasteless.
Jeff,
Ate there when it first opened.
Great looking upscale looking joint.
Obvious from the food that no one with any Chinese blood had anything to do with the food. Can’t really explain what owners are trying to accomplish here, but the food is nothing like the food that many of us grew up on in Brooklyn.
It was a big miss in my book and have not been back since.
Jeff,
How a restaurant like the FarmersTable exists is beyond me. Disgusting food. That said, my wife has a ton of friends that love the joint. Same story with Red Pine. I ate there and thought that the food stunk. She on the other hand has a load of friends who really enjoy its food.
As you always say, Subjective Call!
