Back in Brooklyn in 1959 the pizza joint 2 blocks from the apartment building where I lived got a buck for an 8 slice pie. My friends and I loved that pizza and split the cost. So a slice cost each of us $.125. If you bought just 1 slice in the store it was$.15,

  31. I am 75 years old.
Lived in Oceanside my whole life until I moved to Delray Beach in 2009.
I recall that when I was in HS 1963-66 a slice of pizza cost 15 cents and an 8 slice whole pie was $1, 15 cents was the lowest I ever paid. By the way a small Coke was nickel and large Coke was 8 cents.

    Jeff,
I graduated from Erasmau Hall High School in Brooklyn in 1966. From 63-66 I distinctly remember that i would walk home with my friends Mark, Andy and Mike and we use to stop at pizza joint on Flatbush Ave & Cortelyou Rd and we each got a slice and a Coke. The slice cost 15 cents. I also recall that the pizza guy (name escapes me) one day in 66 told us that he had raised the slice to 20 cents. We weren’t to thrilled and told him that we would pass on the pizza and go across the street and get hot dogs in the kosher deli for 25 cents instead. He responded, that “for you boys, I’ll keep the pizza at 15 cents.”

Anyone here 75 and older should remember the days when a slice was 15 cents.

Being 75 in addition to those 15 cent slices, I also remember when a NYC Subway Token only cost 15 cents

How about a Nathan’s hot dog for a quarter!

My first car 1968 Firebird was $3,600.

    I just turned 15.
I have been reading Jeff for years,
He comes up with some really great places to eat.

I can’t believe that many folks here actually got a slice for $.15. Guranteed those readers are old enough to be my grandparents. Right now, you’re lucky to find a slice for 5 bucks.

The lowest price I can recall that I paid for a slice was $2.25,

    Jeff,
    Thanks for the gift card,
