* 7 Reasons Why You Should Be Eating Pineapple.
Long tale short,
Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been shopping at The Boys Farmers Market in Delray Beach for years.
For what it’s worth, I always noticed but never really paid attention to the fact- that all day long, it has a guy/gal in a certain area, cutting and bagging fresh pineapples.
Anyway, about 3 months ago, I did some research-on PINEAPPLE…suffice it to say, a real eye opener!
Down below is one of the articles I found….it kinda sums-up just maybe-why you should consider “adding” pineapple to your every day diet.
By the way, no bs-here, for the past 3 months- I’ve been eating a cup or two of fresh pineapple on a daily basis- and not even once, have I had a bout-of indigestion- which prior to my pineapple “regiment” use to hit me at least 2-3 times a week!

7 reasons why you should be eating pineapple
Pineapples are one of the most popular fruits in the world and it is great that they are available all year round. They have exceptional juiciness and a vibrant tropical flavour that balances the taste of sweet and tart but most importantly, they are healthy and nutritious. Below are more reasons to love the pineapple fruit.
1-They build and maintain strong bones
Pineapples contain manganese which is a trace mineral your body needs to build bones and connective tissues.
2-They are packed with Minerals and Vitamins
Pineapples are packed with vitamin A, vitamin C, Calcium, potassium and phosphorus. They are also rich in fibre and low in fat and cholesterol which promote good health.
3-They help maintain gum health
Eating pineapples daily helps strengthen your gums which in turn will help keep your teeth healthy and strong.
4-They help alleviate Arthritis
Pineapples have anti-inflammatory properties which can ease the pain of arthritis while at the same time strengthen bones.
5-They help lower the risk of Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is the primary cause of vision loss in adults. Including pineapples in your diet can lower the risk of this disease by about 36%.
6-They Improve digestion
Pineapples contain Bromelain which has protein digesting properties that keep the digestive tract healthy. They also neutralize fluids in the body to ensure they are not too acidic. They also help regulate secretions in the pancreas to aid in digestion.
7-They help prevent coughs and colds
Pineapples are rich in Vitamin C which gives them the ability to fight viruses that cause colds. Eating pineapples combined with the right medication for your sickness can help you recover more quickly.

I sure see a ton of them.
What do you want the guy to do, write up a new restaurant every day?
For crying out loud, the Sun Sentinel with tons of writers and reporters doesn’t do that.
I guess Jeff’s Lawless story on 9/11 isn’t a review.
Best blog going.

I thought the same thing.
I figured pineapple was full of acid and would cause indigestion.
Definitely going to buy some pineapple and give this a try.

Now I know why years ago Chinese restaurants use to serve pineapple chunks at the end of the meal.

Jeff,
You are definitely onto something here.
I’ve been eating fresh pineapple daily for over 30 years. Nothing scientific here, but I’ve been in relatively good health for all those years except for a cold here and there. Not bad for a 78 year old.
I’ve got several pineapple plants growing, some in the yard and some in pots. 2 have fruit that will be ready to harvest soon (if the opossums, raccoons or squirrels don’t get ’em first). You cut the top prickly part of the fruit off and stick it in the yard or a pot of soil and you’ll have a pineapple plant. They do like full sunlight. This will work for store bought pineapple as well.
Jeff,
The story makes sense to me.
Ive been eating pineapple on a daily basis for 7 years. At 76 ive never felt better. I’m thinking that eating pineapple and watermelon and tangerines on a steady basis is doing the trick.
Let’s think for a moment…does anyone know of fresh fruit that isn’t good for you? Yes, some are more beneficial than others but for the most part they are all good for you. While we’re at it, how about the Aloe plant? Plenty of benefits from that, is it a fruit or vegetable?
