I love the Sicilian slices that Jet’s Pizza makes. It’s a chain with a number of locations in Florida.
Love the pizza at Nino’s in Boca Raton. I also love the pizza at Dominic’s I & II in Boca Raton.

***** Pummarola, 6000 Glades Road (Boca Town Center), Boca Raton, Florida 33431, (561) 368-1868.
For our purposes Jeff Eats is gonna call Pummarola an “out of sight out of mind” fast food Italian pizza joint! Although Pummarola is located in Boca Town Center’s food-court which is 5 minutes from my home, Jeff Eats is very seldom in the mall/food-court, as for Mrs. Jeff Eats, that’s a whole different ball of wax!
Long story short, Jeff Eats first told you guys about Pummarola way-back on April 13, 2013- since that “date” maybe I’ve eaten at Pummarola 2-3 times…
Anyway,
Yesterday, Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats “ate lunch at” Pummarola and I gotta tell, just like as-in 2013- the joint’s food was amazing delicious! No bs- here…the margarita pizza, calzone (ham, mozzarella cheese & ricotta cheese), meatballs & spaghetti we ordered- played at the same level as the stuff served by some of South Florida’s best Italian joints!
Let me wrap this up for you guys, Pummarola is a big time winner!
By the way, Pummarola now has a second location, a store-front joint at 141 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables, Florida 33134, (786)409-6866.
You can check menu/prices/info for both locations at pummarola.us.

***** Pummarola, 6000 Glades Road (Boca Town Center), Boca Raton, Florida 33431, (561) 368-1868.
Just got back from having “lunch” at Pummarola…which is a relatively new Italian fast food joint located in the food-court at Boca Town Center.
Let me start by saying–Pummarola’s food was fabulous.
The joint’s menu is real simple—personal-sized wood fired pizza ($5.50-$8.50), panuozzo (pizza crust bread with fillings–$8.50), calzones ($8), pasta ($7-8), handful of sides ($3), handful of desserts ($3.50). At this stage of the conversation-you can check http://www.pummarola.us for full menu/prices/photos.
Now nothing for nothing, over the years- Jeff Eats has literally eaten in tons of Italian fast food mall joints…and I gotta tell you, that Pummarola’s food ranks right up there with the best that I’ve ever had…I’ll even go so far and tell you folks, that Pummarola’s food is as good as most of the stuff served at the best “mom & pop” red sauce Italian joints here in South Florida and elsewhere…I’ll even go on record and tell you, that Pummarola’s food is as good if not better than the stuff served at most of South Florida/elsewhere’s “upscale” Italian joints.
Right about now, some of you guys may-be saying…”Jeff has lost his mind or something.”
Trust me on this one…the “sampled” margherita pizza, chicken milanese panuozzo, fettuccine bolognese, gnocchi alfredo, spaghetti & meatballs, eggplant parmigiana–were absolutely positively delicious. Like Jeff Eats said 14 seconds ago, this joint’s food could easily go head to head with the best Italian stuff out there.
If I got my facts straight, Pummarola has only been open a few months…During the half-hour (3pm-3:30pm on a rainy Saturday) that Jeff Eats was in the food court–the joint did a nice steady business, but I definitely didn’t see long lines at the counter. The real concern that I have with Pummarola is that the guys who own it aren’t business-men…food guys yes!–business-men no! The reason I say this, is that Pummarola is located in a “double space” in the food court…and my pencil to napkin calculations tell me that the rent has to be something like $35,000 a month—and $35,000 a month is an enormous load of pizza/panuozzo/calzone/pasta. In addition, the space “features” a Fiat-car as a decoration…talk about pissing away valuable real-estate! I sure hope Jeff Eats is wrong here-because the food is tremendous…but I really think that Pummarola’s owners might have bit (pun intended) off too much to chew.
Putting “finances” and a car aside for a moment…
I’m telling you guys that you gotta check this joint out.
Pummarola is open 7 days a week during mall hours.
***** May 7, 2013 UPDATE
Just a quick update…
Since Jeff Eats’ April 13, 2013 “review” I and Mrs. Jeff Eats have eaten twice “at” Pummarola with the last outing being this evening—and I gotta tell you that my first impression still holds—the food is absolutely dynamite. Just wanted to mention that after you have finished eating this joint’s pizzas, pastas and sandwiches—give its tiramisu, cannoli and crepes a shot…I sampled all three this evening- and they are as good as the stuff turned out by South Florida’s best Italian bakeries.
Trust me on this..Pummarola is something very special.

For our purposes Jeff Eats is gonna call this tale “A Public Service Announcement”…
If you guys wanna eat off the chart- delicious pizza and garlic rolls, then you gotta go to Original Frankie’s Famous Pizza in Miami!
Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have been going to Frankie’s for years- and trust me when I tell you the joint’s stuff is absolute dynamite! The only draw-back to Frankie’s is that it’s in Miami and Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats live in Boca Raton…
Long story short, last night we got down to Frankie’s (which by the way, is basically a takeout joint), ate in the car (I know!- sounds very romantic!)- and if you haven’t been there, make it your business to get to Original Frankie’s Famous Pizza!

Don’t plan on eating at Original Frankie’s Famous Pizza because it’s takeout only. The joint only has 2 menu items, pizza and garlic rolls. You want great stuff!-order yourself a pie and some rolls-Frankie’s must be doing something right–the joint has been around since 1955.

Original Frankie’s which has been around since 1955, is one of the greatest pizza joints on the face of the planet! Frankie’s is ALMOST-STRICTLY TAKEOUT, with 3 small tables outside in its rear parking lot- if you “”insist” on immediately eating your pizza!
Frankie’s sells TWO ITEMS…PIZZA and GARLIC ROLLS…By the way, the garlic rolls are also incredible.
There is absolutely nothing more to tell you about this joint except that you have to try it and that it is open Tuesday-Sunday– Noon-10pm
Put me down for Nick’s Coal Fire Pizza with locations in Boca Raton and Coral Springs as having amazing coal fired pizza.
Steve’s Pizza in Miami makes delicious NY Pizza.
I love the pizza at Little Louie’s Italian Kitchen in Kendall.
I love the pizza at Tucci’s in Boca Raton. It’s coal fired pizza is amazing.
Eddie & Sam’s Pizza in Tampa.
I absolutely love the 8 corner pizza that Jet’s Pizza makes. I usually get mine with a garlic crust and its topped with sausage. I know it sounds strange for a chain operation to be ranked so high but I am telling you that this Sicilian type pizza is outrageously delicious. Jet’s has a load of Florida locations. I get mine at the Boca Raton takeout.
Pizza Squared in Tampa.
PIzza Time in Boca Raton and Pizza Time in Coral Springs both have terrific pizza. Different owners, but both are terrific.

***** Renzo’s Cafe & Pizzeria, 1906 Clint Moore Road, Boca Raton, Florida 33496 (561) 994-0170.
In Boca, there are a handful of joints that have the name RENZO’s in their “title.” Just so there is no misunderstanding here—I’m talking about the Renzo’s Cafe & Pizzeria that’s right across from Calusa Elementary School on Clint Moore Road.
Okay…you can eat in (there a handful of tables inside and outside)–but, this is basically a takeout pizza joint. A “what you’d expect” red-sauce menu—appetizers, soups, salads, subs, pastas, calzones, pizza, meat-seafood-chicken entrees. You can check the menu/prices at http://www.renzoswest.com.
Tried this joint the other night and it is really good. “Sampled” a plain old large pizza, veal parm, chicken marsala, linguini-white clam sauce…like, I said really good—especially enjoyed the pizza which was thin-crispy-sweet sauce.
This is a neighborhood joint.
So you WEST Bocaratonians- now know about a really good joint for eat-in/takeout…that is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
Jeff,
Like you, i love this joint.

Frankie’s Pizza
9118 Bird Road
Miami, FL 33165
Frankie’s is Miami’s first and oldest pizza joint renowned for its square slices. It’s the epitome of family because the business has been passed down through three generations of Pasquarellas since Frank Pasquarella opened shop in 1955. They use Frank’s Italian mother’s secret recipe that’s been guarded for almost 60 years. Although Miami has changed drastically in the past six decades, Frankie’s was always able to withstand the test of time. The only addition to the menu is the half-baked pizzas. Loyal customers who’ve moved from Miami to other states, even countries, call in weekly to have their childhood pizza love shipped to them. Now people all over the world can get a taste of some Miami history.
I love the pizza at Villa Rose in Hollywood. It makes the thinnest crust pizza that I’ve ever eaten. It’s an old pizza joint that opened in 1957 and in addition to great pizza the rest of its food is also delicious. Prices are very very reaonable. Try this joint, you will love it.

Pizza Time is an institution and as former-New Yorkers, we’ve been loyal customers for 35 years. No wonder the place is packed every night from open til close. Try it once and you’ll agree it’s the best pizza you ever ate!
