***** DISH OF THE WEEK (Sunday- 11/19/17- Lindy’s Homemade Italian Lemon Ice).
One of Jeff Eats’ favorite menu items…
LINDY’S HOMEMADE ITALIAN LEMON ICE
$2.43 (6- 6oz cups)
Jeff Eats “knows” Italian Ices- and Lindy’s Homemade Italian Lemon Ice tastes just like the Brooklyn pizza joint scoops I grew-up on in the 1950s-1960s. Trust me on this one, absolutely delicious!
In Florida, only- Walmart and Winn Dixie carry Lindy’s Homemade Italian Ice.
By the way, in addition to lemon- Jeff Eats has had Lindy’s watermelon/ strawberry/ cherry/ pineapple Italian ices and they were all good- with lemon being my favorite flavor!
You can check lindysitalianice.com for retail locations/product line/info.

***** Lindy’s Homemade Italian Ice.
Real simple tale to tell you guys…
Last night, Jeff Eats was “roaming” the frozen food section of the Walmart Supercenter located at 16205 South Military Trail, Delray Beach (don’t say nothing!) and I came across Lindy’s Homemade Italian Ice and bought-2 boxes (1 lemon, 1 strawberry- 6 6 oz. cups to a box- $2.43 per box) and I gotta tell you guys- definitely some of the best “supermarket” Italian ices- I’ve had in a very long time!
Jeff Eats did some quick checking at lindysitalianice.com and found that Lindy’s has 11 flavors (the Walmart Jeff Eats went to- only had lemon and strawberry) and in the State of Florida- only Walmart and Winn Dixie carry the brand!
By the way, the “cups” don’t come topped with big delicious scoops of ices-as pictured down below! But you guys knew that already- well, at least some of you did!
I bought the lemon ices when you first mentioned them. You are so right that they are delicious. You are also right that their other flavors are good but that the lemon is the best.
Had never heard of this brand until this morning.
Got the ices and just as you said they tasted like the ones I got as a kid in the 50s growing up in Bayside, Queens.
Jeff,
Publix has Lindy’s.
Its price is double what Walmart gets.
There are loads of flavors.
My favorites are cherry and lemon.
You are so right, they taste just like the ices that NYC pizza joints carried when I was a kid growing up in Queens.
You are 100% correct, Publix price is almost double what Walmart’s is.
I have had a number of its flavors. The best by far are lemon and cherry. Both taste like pizza joint scoop ices I had as a kid in Brooklyn in the 50s and 60s.
Jeff,
I have tried a load of its flavors.
If you ask me, cherry and lemon are the best.
