Golden Pavilion (Jupiter)

Posted on April 26th, 2017 · Chinese Jupiter

***** Golden Pavilion, 201 North US Highway 1, Jupiter, Florida 33477, (561) 747-7470.

Got a real good Chinese joint for you guys- Golden Pavilion in Jupiter.

Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats recently did an early dinner there- and I gotta tell you, Golden Pavilion’s food was right on the money!

In addition to a menu loaded with real good Brooklyn Jewish American Chinese Food circa 1957- Golden Pavilion has a dim sum menu (served every day) for you guys who like to play that game!

Just between us guys, Boca Raton resident Jeff Eats can only think of two eat-in Chinese joints by my house-(5 miles) whose food comes even close to being as good as Chinese Pavilion’s is! By the way, 42 miles one way- is way outside of Golden Pavilion’s delivery radius!

You can check menu/prices/info at goldenpavilionfl.com.

Golden Pavilion is open 7 days a week 11am-10pm.

    Jeff,
Can you tell me the names of the two other Chinese joints that you say are “close to being as good” that are closer since Jupiter is a trek for me too.
    Thanks.

      ***** China Gardens, 14400 Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida 33484 (561) 498-5226.

A number of you guys e-mailed about a “mom & pop Chinese” joint…China Gardens, telling me about how good the food was, blah, blah blah. Anyway… last night I gave this joint a shot and “right-you-were”…the food is absolutely delicious.

China Gardens is as you would expect, a “hole in the wall” located in a non-descript small South Florida shoping center. Guaranteed (unless you are a recent arrival from Mars) you know exactly what the decor is…what the menu is…and what the price-points and “specials” are.

Now let’s talk food…like I said before, DELICIOUS. Now for the official-results of my “taste test”….wonton soup (A), egg drop soup (A), hot & sour soup (A), egg roll (B+), pan fried dumplings (B+), sweet & sour pork (A+), chicken egg foo young (A), sizzling steak (A), shrimp with vegetables (A), shrimp with lobster sauce (A), roast pork fried rice (B+)…

Now I may-be going out on a limb here, but…my money says that China Gardens is probably better than your favorite neighborhood-Chinese joint. Let me go one step further, China Gardens could “make it” in New York City’s Chinatown.

Based on my first outing, I will definitely be back for a second round.

China Gardens is open Monday-Saturday 11am-10pm and Sunday 2pm-10pm.

      Hunan Gardens (Delray Beach)

Let me start by saying…HUNAN GARDENS IS A GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD CHINESE RESTAURANT…The operative word in the last sentence is, NEIGHBORHOOD, capice?

Over the years I must have eaten in this joint at least 20 times. I can’t remember a time, when Hunan Gardens failed to pass my 1957 Brooklyn Jewish Chinese Taste Test of – wonton soup-egg rolls-spare ribs-pan fried dumplings-roast pork fried rice-sweet and sour chicken-pistachio ice cream!

Gourmet stuff? I don’t think soooo! This is a good NEIGHBORHOOD Chinese joint to know about. For those who live in the Delray Beach area, Hunan Gardens is located in the “middle” of a strip shopping center located at the southeast corner of the Linton Boulevard/Military Trail intersection.

Hunan Gardens is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. By the way, this joint is owned/run by super-nice people.

        Jeff,
        Great pick on Golden Pavilion.
I use to live about 5 minutes from the restaurant and ate there quite a number of times. I also took out food a number of times. You are right, the food is absolutely delicious.

        Jeff,
The two you mentioned are excellent old fashioned mom & pop Chinese restaurants. I and my wife have been eating at both restaurants for years.

      Mindy,
This is another great pick that Jeff had. Maybe this works for you.

***** Uncle Joe’s Chinese Restaurant, 4367 Northlake Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida 33410 (561) 799-9883.

If you live in the Palm Beach Gardens’ area, I got a real good Chinese joint for you…Uncle Joe’s Chinese Restaurant. No frills decor…No frills prices. Very good Chinese food…The joint passed my… wonton soup/egg roll/spare ribs/pan fried dumplings/roast pork fried rice/sweet and sour chicken/moo shu pork/shrimp in black bean sauce/pineapple chunks test with flying colors.

You can check menu/prices at unclejoeschinesefood.com

By the way, I drove a total of 69.4 miles (from my home to Uncle Joe’s) round-trip to eat at this joint. Call me a wild and crazy guy, but the food was worth the ride.

Uncle Joe’s is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
