I met Ali at a place called BookSoup in Los Angeles during a book “signing”. Sadly, he had advanced Parkinson’s disease and the management was only putting brass fake signatures in his books. The line was a mile long and I was double parked. I went to the front of the line and told the massive guard that I was getting a book for my dad for Fathers Day. The security guard put me to the front of the line and I told Ali that he had always been one of my hero’s and that the book he had written was for my dad. Ali motioned to me and faked like he was going to hit me and with his incredible smile; the room lit up! He actually signed my book, his signature was extremely tiny and just barely readable…The world has lost a great man!
My name is Jeff. I was born and bred in Brooklyn, New York. Since 1991, I have lived in South Florida and have eaten in so many restaurants down here, that I now consider myself to be a food expert.
