Got a real good sub joint for you guys- Godfather Authentic Subs in Deerfield Beach.

Real simple concept going on here…maybe 10 seats inside, handful of tables outside, hot/cold subs-couple of salads-breakfast items, order/pickup at the counter.

The real beautiful thing about this joint, besides making delicious subs- is that Godfather is located right across the street from the BEACH…great people watching and if it’s your game, plenty of park benches to eat those subs on (or is at?)!

Now, just between you guys and Jeff Eats, I think that the name Godfather Authentic Subs is kinda “tired”…nothing original going on there and naming sandwiches- Michael, Sonny, Joey Zasa, Barzini so on and so forth, in my book is lame, but hey!-I don’t own the joint! No fooling here, but I seriously doubt that 90% of Americans under 25 even know who Marlon Brando was or who James Cann is!

Let’s talk food.

A recent Saturday-afternoon outing had Jeff Eats “trying”- a Don Corleone, a Sonny, a Joey Zasa and a Connie and I gotta tell you, all of the subs were right on the money! Just so you know, the Don Corleone alone, was worth-driving around for 22 minutes looking for a freaking parking spot! Hey! Season is now over- so parking shouldn’t be an issue at least until next Fall! Anyway, Godfather for my taste-is using a nice crisp seeded sub roll, top shelf-fillings and gives you a nice size sandwich for the money. For those of you wondering… What the hell a Don Corleone, a Sonny, a Joey Zasa and a Connie are?- Godfather’s menu is printed down-below.

Let me wrap this up by saying, that if Sonny “had had”” a SunPass, he would probably still be with us today…and Jeff Eats will definitely be back to try a Rocco, a Fredo and a Luca Brasi.
