Prezzo (Boca Raton)

Posted on May 6th, 2019 · Boca Raton Italian Pizza

Prezzo, 5560 North Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida 33496, (561) 314-6840.

You guys know that this Jeff Eats’ gig is purely a subjective exercise- you know…what I love, you may hate and vice versa- with that in mind…

Two Sundays ago, Jeff Eats, Mrs. Jeff Eats, Daughter Jeff Eats, Son Jeff Eats and Son Jeff Eats’ Girlfriend- ate dinner at Prezzo- and I gotta tell you, that we all agreed that this Italian joint’s food was mediocre at best and that its service was as incompetent and amateurish as could be. Let me go one step further and say- that Prezzo was one of the worst Italian restaurants that Jeff Eats and Mrs. Jeff Eats have eaten in during our 27 year Florida residency! Just for starters, off the top of my head, Prezzo’s pizza, wood oven roasted chicken wings and chicken parmesan were exceptionally bad news!

Like I said a few seconds ago, this Jeff Eats’ gig is purely a subjective exercise- you know…what I love, you may hate and vice versa- so you can do whatever you’d like with this review!

For you folks into Homemade English Muffin Pizza type food and Three Stooges’ (calling Doctor Howard, Doctor Fine, Doctor Howard) type service…

Prezzo is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. You can checkout Prezzo’s menu/prices/info at prezzoboca.com.

    Jeff,
    Love the blog.
I’ve been reading you for years and you call it like you see it.
I’ve eaten in Prezzo and it stinks. The food is lousy and the service stinks.
The restaurant is nice looking and has an outdoor patio and full bar. It has become a hangout for the old divorced and sadly widows/widowers who are looking to meet someone.

  2. Ron Epstein says...

My wife and I ate there a few months ago. There are tons of much better Italian restaurants in the area. When we ate there we had pizza, chicken parm. For sure not the best and we definitely won’t be running back.

  3. Mike Ian says...

    Food is just average.
On Thursday nights they have a small band outside on the patio. The bar is jammed inside and outside with a Cougar crowd. All dressed up. Very sad scene.

  4. Ed A says...

Not as good as the old Prezzo which use to be on Glades Road by the turnpike, That said, the latest version is decent enough. Ive eaten there a handful of times and thought that the food was decent enough, same for the service. As Jeff says, purely a subjective call. Give Prezzo a try and decide for yourself.

  5. Bobby C says...

    Jeff,
Born and bred 65 year old Brooklyn italian. Good call here. Food and service not very good. There are a ton and I do mean a ton of better italian joints in Boca/Delray Beach area. This is a Rapoport restaurant. before it was Prezzo he failed twice in the location trying a NYC deli concept.

  6. GBG says...

Food was ok. Nothing great. Had fun listening to a band one night which was playing on outdoor patio. If your’e looking for top notch italian food, look elsewhere.

  7. POP WARNER says...

Olive Garden is much better and much cheaper.

  8. ksr says...

    Jeff,
Food is just passable. Service is haphazard. No clearing of tables, no water refills, no serving spoons for shared dishes. no dishes for appetizers etc. they have a $22 per person for 2 people special. When you do the math, for $44 you can eat like a KING at Nino’s in Boca and get delicious food and excellent service for the same or less money.
    Another Rappy’s scam.

  9. Stan L says...

My wife and i and another couple ate dinner there. Nothing great as far as food goes. That said, we enjoyed the outdoor patio seating and had a pleasant dinner. There are definitely much better Italian restaurants in the area.

  10. Anna W says...

If you’ll settle for just decent enough food Prezzo works. For lunch they have 12 dishes for 12 bucks each. I work in the area and eat there with coworkers pretty regularly on a weekly basis.

  11. Carmine D says...

    Jeff,
Ive lived in Boca for over 37 years.
This latest version of Prezzo is definitely not the worst Italian restaurant Ive eaten in Florida, for sure it’s not even close to being the best, but definitely not the worst. Food is okay. service is okay.

  12. Paul A says...

Ive eaten there twice. The food is okay, but there is definitely nothing great going on at Prezzo. I live a 2 minute walk from Prezzo and find it very convenient to get there. If I had to make a drive, I wouldn’t eat there. Prezzo decor wise looks great but its food and service don’t live up to what your expecting.

  13. My husband and I ate dinner there when it first opened. We were not impressed with the food nor service. We haven’t been back since. Read jeffeats.com, Jeff has a ton of Italian joints listed in the Boca area that run circles around Prezzo.

  14. Buster R says...

I thought that their chicken meatballs were pretty good.

  15. Joe 4390 says...

Very nice looking restaurant with indoor and covered patio seating. Full bar inside and outside. New shopping center, that has loads of parking. Restaurant owned by Rapoport Group which develops/owns restaurants in s. Florida. Before Prezzo, Rapoport failed with 2 NY Deli concepts. Personally, I think that location and decor are terrific for a semi upscale Italian restaurant. Ate there about a month ago with friends and the food and service were just average. Nothing special that would warrant a return visit. If a better operator was in the spot the restaurant would have everything going for it. Right now, you just know that there isn’t a real Italian Chef anywhere near this joint.

  16. Carl T says...

Anyone who thinks that Prezzo is a good Italian restaurant needs to see a doctor and have his or her head examined.

  17. Joe Kennedy says...

    Very disappointed.

  18. Shelly and Mitch Woldoff says...

Remember Prezzo when it was on Glades Rd. across from the turnpike. It was great then. This incarnation is terrible.

  19. Larry Fine says...

I loved the old Prezzo which was on Glades road in Boca Raton many years ago. This reincarnation is an absolute joke. The food is terrible and the service is an absolute abortion.

  20. Mike Greene says...

My wife and I and some friends ate at Prezzo a couple of months ago. Nice looking restaurant. The food wasn’t very good and the waitstaff was like the 3 Stooges pictured by Jeff Eats, complete clowns.

  21. Janet Harrison says...

On Thursday nights they have a band outside. They draw a big crowd of seniors all dressed up looking to meet other seniors who are also dressed up. As for the food, you’d swear that this crap came from the frozen food department at Costco. My friends and I ate there once and once was more than enough for us.

  22. Nick G (Delray Beach, Florida) says...

Another RAPOPORT mess. The man gets investors and loses their money. Just check his recent track record.

  23. Mel Carter says...

Ive eaten there 3x and enjoyed the food. Thought their pizza and chicken parmesan were pretty good.

  24. Steve Roberts says...

    Prezzo’s food is absolute garbage.

  25. Benny Horowitz says...

If you think that Prezzo’s food is good, you know absolute nothing about what good Italian food is all about. I ate there with my wife when Prezzo first opened and the food was at the level of frozen Italian food that you can buy in any supermarket.

  26. Brenda W says...

Great looking restaurant with outdoor patio. Food is just fair. Service is haphazard. Reasonable prices. Ate there last night with some co-workers and everyone enjoyed the outing with everyone agreeing that Prezzo could’ve done better.

  27. PATTY 298 says...

    THIS JOINT IS A JOKE.
    Food is second rate.
    Service sucks.
Don’t waste your time or money.

  28. Jay H (Boca Raton, Florida) says...

    Food isn’t good.
Prezzo developed a bar scene for 60+ crowd.

  29. Boca Raton Veteran says...

    Jeff,
    Nice call.

  30. robertw says...

They wont last. Most of Jeffs reviews about local places are pretty positive, so this one really stands out. Boca is a demanding crowd and overhead is costly. No way they make it

    • robertw says...

Weird because Yelp and Google reviews have this one at near 5 stars?

  31. Mr. Gerber says...

My wife and I ate at Prezzo a few months ago.
Its food and service weren’t good.
We have lived in Boca Raton for 33 years and years ago were very steady customers of Prezzo’s original location which was on Glades Rd near the TPKE exit. Good food and good service.
This new location is a nice looking restaurant with an outdoor patio. Not exactly sure what happened but the new location just doesn’t have it food or service wise.
There are loads of Italian restaurants in Boca Raton and I can honestly say that Prezzo is definitely one of the worst ones we have eaten in.

  32. HerbK says...

We live right near the place tried it once, which was more than enough. The service was as bad as the food. La Luna is nearby, and while it doesn’t look as good, the food is much better

  33. Yolanda T says...

    Loved Prezzo.
Great food and pizza is definitely one of the best in Boca!
Salads are delicious and super fresh.
    Waiters are just ok.
    Definitely will come back!!!!

  34. Not good.
My husband and I and another couple ate there three months ago and all four of us were very disappointed. Personally, you can get better Italian food from Publix’s frozen food department. Absolute garbage. As for service, confused and amateurish. My husband and I have lived in Boca Raton for over 41 years and have literally eaten in every Italian Restaurant that has opened and for that matter closed in Boca. Without doubt, I can honestly say that Prezzo was definitely one of the worst.

  35. Louis T says...

Ate there last night. My meatball appetizer and chicken parm entree were lousy.

  36. HGT says...

    Jeff.
I have absolutely no axe to grind.
That said, why anyone would eat at Prezzo is beyond me.
Because of my office staff I’ve been ‘forced’ to eat there 3x and I must tell you that the food is horrendous. The dishes all taste as if they came out of the frozen food shelves in Publix.
How restaurants like this are allowed to exist are beyond me.
As for the office staff, they are terrific at their company duties but definitely are weak in what good food is all about.

  37. Esq says...

Ate there last night, absolute garbage.

  38. Joe Cantor says...

In all honesty how this joint stays in business is beyond me.
Ive eaten there 3x with various friends and each and every item from pizza to chicken wings has been terrible.
Absolutely amazing what crap they cook and serve.

  39. Arthur d says...

The food stinks. If you want to eat garbage go here.

  40. Bob Alston says...

Friends had me and my wife over for dinner last night ordering in from Prezzo. SALAD, MEATBALLS. PIZZA, CHICKEN WINGS, PENNE A LA VODKA AND CHICKEN PARM and every dish was lousy. No fooling, Lousy with a capital L. How this restaurant can prepare and sell such crap is a mystery to me.

  41. Heather B says...

    Garbage.
How this place stays in business is beyond me.

  42. Anne W says...

My husband and I tried Prezzo this evening ordering wings, chicken parm and pizza and the food wasn’t good. As a matter of fact the wings were undercooked and were almost raw when they were served. Inedible. We wont be back, that’s for sure.

  43. Darlene K says...

This restaurant is a total mess. The food is lousy and the service isn’t too far behind that.
I remember the original Prezzo on Glades and it was excellent. The latest version is a disaster.

  44. Manny Katz says...

Ive lived in boca for 41 years. The original prezzo on Glades Rd was terrific. Tried the new Prezzo last night and the food was some of the worst crap ive ever been served. Stay away.

  45. Doug Watson says...

    Jeff,
My wife and I had been to prezzo before Covid and thought that its food was lousy.

Because of its outdoor patio, we decided to give it a shot last night. Same lousy food.

    • Ralph Carbone says...

Same story here for us, the patio drew us for dinner . Not very good.

  46. Victoria H says...

    Jeff,
My husband and i live right next door to the shopping center where Prezzo is located. Prior to Covid we ate there a couple of times and the food and service weren’t the best.

Over the Covid period, the outside seemingly was always jammed.

Last night we decided to give Prezzo another shot and ate dinner there. Both inside and outside were busy.

Sorry to report same mediocre food and service.

  47. FOREMAN says...

    Jeff,
During COVID Prezzo’s outside patio has been very busy. My wife and I live down the street from its center, so we frequently pass by.
We have lived in Boca for 35 years and know and have eaten in almost every Italian joint.
    The original Prezzo was excellent.
We have eaten 4x in the new Prezzo. The last time being 4 days ago (friends want to eat outside) and the food is average at best. Same for the service.
    That’s the story. Period.

  48. Tony Gentile says...

    Lousy food.
    Lousy service.
    Terrific outdoor dining patio.
Thanks to Covid it drew large crowds.
Now that Covid is over, We’ll see if Prezzo still gets a big crowd.

  49. NMG says...

Over the past few years I’ve eaten in Prezzo trying to like it.
I live in an apartment building right next door and a group of building friends really enjoys drinking at Prezzo. To be part of the group I join in, but no matter how I try I find the food just average if even that. Last night, I had veal Milanese and it was ok but nothing worth writing home about.

  50. Jeff,
    New to the Boca area.
Last night, ate at Prezzo’s with a friend and the pizza and veal Milanese that we shared was pretty decent. Service was also pretty good.
