***** Mojo Donuts, 7906 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33324, (954) 983-6631.

Got something absolutely terrific for you…Mojo Donuts in Pembroke Pines…that is, if you are looking for some of the most delicious donuts that you have ever eaten. If this isn’t your game, Jeff Eats will have have “something” else for you later in the week.

Long story short, a husband wife-team in their 50’s who previously owned smoothie shops—in February 2013 opened Mojo Donuts in 1400 square feet in a bombed out shopping center in Pembroke Pines. Prior to Mojo they had never been in the donut business. They start baking around 1am and the official store hours are Monday-Sunday 6am-5pm… but when they “sell-out” they just close the doors no matter what time it is. In the 2 months that the joint has been opened, it has been featured on several local tv news programs, one reality tv series and in several South Florida newspapers/blog sites. Talk about getting the word out!

Jeff Eats’ friends over at food blog- Burger Beast (www.burgerbeast.com) on February 20, 2013 did a real good story on the joint—check the writeup out. By the way, Burger Beast is how I found out about Mojo.

The concept…7 or so standard donuts like glazed and Boston cream pie—and then, 15 or so different daily donuts (try and say that one fast 10 times).

Trust Jeff Eats on this one, this ain’t Dunkin’ Donuts type stuff…these are off the chart–dynamite–can’t stop eating donuts. Just so you know donuts are gonna run you $1.09-$1.39-$1.75 a shot.

I recently “tried” glazed–maple bacon–apple fritter…like Jeff Eats said 11 seconds ago, some of the most delicious donuts going.

Mojo has a handful of tables inside and a couple outside. It has 4 large flat screen tvs and also does coffee (that figures!).

Let me wrap this up…this is a real “mom & pop” operation—you can taste their “pride” in every bite (No! Jeff Eats hasn’t gone all soft and fuzzy, but last week was Passover and yesterday was Easter Sunday).

If you want to eat-try something very-very special…then you gotta get to Mojo Donuts—but get there early, because you ain’t the only one who knows about this fabulous donut shop.

This place reminds me of Denton and Austin, TX. That town has donut shops every where but here in soflo you can’t find anyplace that sells good donuts.
Also, I am a huge bacon fan. I’ve eaten plenty of bacon donuts and this one is definitely the best. Why? Because they don’t skimp out on bacon. If you like donut with bacon, you won’t like theirs. But if you like bacon with a little bit of donut? This place is for you.
Only thing is…I wish they served more than just donuts and coffee. Maybe some breakfast sandwiches or oatmeal. But I am biased because I don’t really have a sweet tooth.
    Jesus. Bacon. America. And mojo’s!!!

Why did I wait this long to write a review for Mojo Donuts? Because I didn’t want to share this little gem in Pembroke Pines with the masses. I mean, I don’t want all the S’mores and maple bacon donuts to be gone by the time I get there! Unfortunately (for me) & fortunately (for them), word had gotten out! So much so that I have to force myself to wake up early after leaving work at midnight to get the donuts I want the following morning!!! Obsessed much? Perhaps but once you get a taste of these magical pieces of fried dough, you’ll understand my madness! They have something for everyone. They have the kiddie friendly donuts with Trix cereal or funky colors & donuts for the mature taste buds like lemon pistachio! It’s a small family owned business and the service is superb! It always feel like I’m going to my favorite aunt’s house whenever I go there!
These donuts are the real deal. They are gourmet so you’re not going to get 2 dozen for $9.99 however, you will get the tastiest donuts in South Florida that will make you say “Krispy Kreme who?”
I gave 4 stars instead of 5 b/c they sometimes don’t have my S’mores donut available by the time I get there. They don’t make the same ones all the time so you may go with your heart set on a lemon pistachio & they might not have made it that day. That’s not too bad of a problem b/c you end up falling in love with some other yumminess! The best thing about it too is that the donuts aren’t overly sweet. It’s just right!
Mojo isn’t going anywhere. They’re going to have to end up expanding to Miami soon b/c all this goodness cannot be contained to just Pembroke Pines!
Life is short, eat the donut.

My husband and i were watching 7 news-saw them talking about it-since its only a little ways from our home-we were there in 5 minutes !!! Wow !!!! is all I can say !! My favorite is the bacon donut ! but they are all exceptional !!
The only negative thing I could say is–the donuts have a special presentation, when you pick them out, but when they pack them to go, they turn them on there sides, and everything falls off, like the meringue !! all messed up when we got home !! Please use the flat boxes like dunkin donut uses !!!!Thank you
    Thank you,

Yes, yes – believe the hype. These donuts have some serious mojo… oh, and that’s MO-JOE, not MO-HO for you Spanish speakers. I thought I might find a pan con lechon donut here or something, but they did have a maple bacon donut, which is probably better 😉
I stopped in during the afternoon, and they were fully stocked with over a dozen different flavors. The owner let me know that they bake throughout the day, so there are always fresh donuts available. I don’t think I’ve ever had a donuts that were so sweet and decadent – these could just as easily be for dessert as they could be for breakfast. They have both cake and yeast donuts, and a wide spectrum of flavors.
The maple bacon is a MUST. The raspberry glazed was my favorite. Worth the drive, worth planning for, worth the extra pounds – definitely a 5 star establishment.
Just go. Thank me later. Oh, and they have a Sookie Stackhouse quote on their wall, as if this place wasn’t awesome enough.

Mojo Donuts is an unlikely find in a decaying Pembroke Pines strip mall; a gourmet donut shop like you would find in New York or LA. Walking into the nicely decorated shop, I was greeted by a very friendly man who I assume was the owner. He seemed very proud of his products and rightfully so. The variety of flavors edges towards the eclectic, and almost everything I tried was spot on in execution. I tried a few varieties of donuts such as maple bacon, pina colada, raspberry glazed with dark chocolate, apple fritter, blueberry cream pie, pineapple sour cream and red velvet. The red velvet donut was good, but a little dry. All of the others were spectacular with quality flavors, just the right textures, and beautiful presentation.
This is a concept that has been done before, but not overdone and not done so much in South Florida. Mojo is a beacon of hope in a neighborhood that lacks much culinary inspiration, and I hope they do well!

After rushing over before 12, I was so excited to arrive and see that there was no wait and a window display full of donuts.
The girl putting my order together was super sweet and willing to help me out when I wanted a smores donut and there werent any available, she had the lady working in the back make me two. Also, there was a heath bar donut that I mistook for butterfinger and she quickly offered to make me a butterfinger donut, if that isnt great customer service I don’t know what is.
    I ordered:
Log cabin donut-maple and bacon-what else can I say other than awesome
Smores-Not my favorite-a little to sweet for my taste
M&M-this donut was a chocolate base with chocolate frosting holding the M&M’s way to much chocolate for me
Chocolate/White Chocolate-This was one of my favorite- a perfect combination
Plain Glaze-I would say this donut was probably better than krispy kreme and thats hard for me to say since I am addicted to those donuts
Dulce de Leche-Had a few bites and it didn’t call my attention
Honestly it was alot of sweetness for the hubby and I, probably best to share them all or make a few trips to try a few at a time, but I got greedy what can I say, lol! I would come back here before I make a trip to another donut place but I will say after that donut binge I don’t want to see a donut for a while lol

I am upgrading from 4 stars to 5 stars, because of improved variety of donuts.

So I decided to check this place out for two reasons, 1st I found out about this place from a yelp ROTD(review of the day), 2nd because it is down the street from my house.
Nice comfortable quiet place, the interior possesses a mellow candescence. Which makes your donut/coffee experience soothing and relaxing. There are 4 flat screen TV’s mounted on the wall, that you can watch comfortably from any of the tables or seats.
For those seeking a more dynamic comfort zone. There have one big soft cushioned modernesque sofa that can seat about 5 people and 1 soft cushioned chair. There is also four outdoor two seater tables, indoors has three tables with three chairs each and two tables with four chairs each.
The donut variety is not that large, I am assuming because it is a new business, but you still have a good variety of gourmet donuts to choose from. The people who work here are super friendly and are eager to explain the components of all of donuts they offer, in particular the more exotic & artistic ones.
I ordered a cinnamon sugar, a vanilla donut with white icing and a vanilla donut topped with a strawberry covered with chocolate and vanilla icing.
All three of the donuts were super yummy, soft texture, sweet to the palate, even the strawberry on the exotic donut was fresh, firm and juicy.
I am definitely going to return.

What an amazing find out in deepest suburbia!

Was driving by on my way to my mom’s place when this place caught my eye and I decided to stop by on my way back home.

And man am I glad I did!

This is the kind of donut shop you expect to find in the big city (certain famous establishments in NYC or Portland come to mind…) and not in Pembroke Pines next to a Hooters, but go figure!

Although there aren’t any truly off-the-wall offerings, you’ve got some great choices: Tahitian vanilla, S’mores, guava and cheese, banana fritters – to name but a few.

But my personal favorite was the yeast donut with raspberry glaze. Yum!

What a great addition to the SoFla food scene…and one more reason for me to go visit my parents!

Word to the wise: They follow the tradition of these kinds of shops: “We’re open until we run out of donuts.” Plan your trip there accordingly! :

I have been patiently waiting for a gourmet donut shop and finally my prayers have been answered !! Sill a fan of my Dunkin Donuts coffee but by far, these donuts surpass anything I could have imagined ! I think my kids & I have tried almost every one of their selections, though you never know what you’re going to come across as the specialty donuts change every day ( but their daily staples such as the yeast raised, dulce leche and maple bacon are available til they sell out which in getting quicker every day they’re open) will never, ever disappoint.

Don’t be shy about asking for suggestions, the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful and trust me, whatever they suggest you definitely will not be disappointed !

PS: Their Facebook page will tell you what’s available for the day.

    OhMahGoodness.
I have been here 3 times.
My husband only knows of 1 – the other 2 I snuck off early to work to go OUT of my way to stop here!!!!
The donuts ROCK. Like, really really ROCK. The caramel bacon log is a MUST. The S’Mores is a close second. The special of the day yesterday was black cherry – and I got the one with ghiradelli chocolate. I should have bought 5.
I went with my family on Saturday morning and we got a dozen different ones to try everything! Honestly there was not a bad or weird one in the batch. Lemon pistacio, raspberry glazed, key lime pie, girl scout samoa, the list goes on.
And the prices! A dozen is 12.99. That’s close to what the chains charge for a dozen glazed! A coffee and 2 donuts is under 5 bucks.
The service is also impeccable. They are so nice and cheery and if they weren’t so nice I may have swiped that maple candle they have burning in there. If my house smelled like that I’d gain 5 lbs just walking in the door!
You definitely need to go out of your way to check this place out. If you are a business owner, I bet if you brought your employees some of these donuts they would work an extra hour for FREE for ya! (well, maybe).

All I gotta say is I’m so glad I don’t live close to this place cuz I would be a regular for sure. Heard about them thru a few food blogs I follow and the pics they posted had my husband and I drooling. So this morning we decided to take the 45 min drive and buy a box for us and one to take over to my moms house. We literally picked one of each with the exception of the Log Cabin Bacon Bar (can’t share those!); which is simply amazing btw. I also tasted their guava & cheese and a piece of their dulce leche and both were great! This place is amazing and for Miami folks this place is well worth the drive!

I’m typically not a big donut fan, but I’ll make an exception for Mojo. Had a few (yes a few, don’t judge) of these on Friday morning like the dulce de leche, the bacon, and the smores donut. All were delicious! The bacon on the donut was soooooo good. And dulce de leche? Yes, please. Yes a thousand times over. Thank goodness there’s a great donut shop near by!

I’ve been waiting for a real, different, gourmet donut shop in So. Fla. for 20 years. Dandee Donuts in Hollywood has filled that role till now. Well my friends, the wait is over. Take a drive to the corner of Pines Blvd. & University Ave. and check out Mojo Donuts. I wish I had taken more pictures inside of the actual product, but I have a feeling many others will be posting about this fine establishment soon.
I met Sean, the owner, and his lovely wife(I can’t remember your name, sorry Nice folks, nice coffee shop, fantastic donuts!
The Caramel Bacon bullet shaped donut is admittedly my favorite so far, but a sampling of several others including S’mores, Orange Glazed, fresh blueberry cake, red velvet and an amazing apple fritter…. Okay, just thinking about it, I’m going back tomorrow.
For my So. Fla. Friends, this is worth the drive. As worth it is as drive down to Knauss Berry for sticky buns, trust me!
I really hope these guys make it, spread the word!!
Mojo Donuts, next to the Hooters at University & Pines.
Open at 6:00am till they’re sold out, then they’re a coffee house. Free Wi-Fi and excellent brew as well

I ran into this place one day going to get dinner at La hormiga de oro. It caught my eye since the space has been vacant for sometime. So i decided to walk in and see what its all about. I got a few samples and boy was i hooked. When i say these are the best donuts ive ever had i kid u not. The prices are a absolute bargain. Its nicely decorated with a modern feeling to it. The owner is a very nice guy who makes you feel welcomed. So lets see, Great prices. great customer service, and of course damn good donuts. I will be a regular. I dont normally write reviews but I feel like i gotta tell the world about this hidden gem.

Just had a chance to read your comments.

I really like Dandee (11/19/11). As mentioned in that writeup Dandee has terrific donuts and a “small” diner opearion as well.

    Mojo is strictly donuts.

Trust me, you can’t go wrong with either one.

Totally different types of businesses. Dandee goes 24/7 while Mojo is a limited hours joint.

Now, let’s suppose it’s 2am and Jeff Eats needs a glazed donut, where’s he going?

    Thanks for reading…

    is another grand slam!!

    Jeff,
I went there this morning. Had 1 plain glazed and 1 raspberry glazed. Delicious.
The donuts are all great looking.
Looks like a huge amount of labor went into making each and every one of them.
They definitely aren’t massed produced like they are at DD and KK.
    Great find.
    Thanks,
    Ronnie G.
