  6. Ed Klein says...

    Jeff,
You asked for kosher “style.” How about kosher? Ben’s in Boca is my favorite.

    Jeff:
Ive been down here for over 27 years. Originally from the Bx. Ive been to loads of joints. All in all the two top one are Pomperdale and Zinger’s. These truly are real NYC Kosher Style Delis. They aren’t bagel stores. Though not in the same class, I also like Ben’s and Poppie’s. If you are talking bargain stuff, you got 3 G’s, but that’s strictly for the crowd that’s looking for quantity.

Zinger’s and Pomperdale have QUALITY meats etc.

  10. Anna V. says...

Too Jay’s in WPB is very good.

  11. Grabstein says...

Pastrami Club in Lauderhill is excellent.

  12. LYNN GOLDBERG says...

3 G’s in Delray is terrific.
    Also like Nestor’s in Boca.

  13. Scotty says...

Zinger’s has my heart. I miss Pumpernicks in Miami and their great owner Charlie Bookbinder, who passed away many years ago. They don’t make them like Charlie!

  14. Jimmy G. says...

The Rascal House use to be the place. It died a pitful death when the dopes from Jerry;s Famous Deli took over and ran it into the ground.
Zinger’s and Pomperdale are today’s main players.

I didnt know that those idiots from Jerrys bought Rascal house. When they opened in Boca I ate there and was somewhat disappointed. My grandparents loved the original one in Miami Beach. One thing you have to think about is the NY people and many jews like a good deli and know what they like. Non jews are not always into the deli scene so things have to be a little more mainstream as far as the menu an such.

  15. alfredman says...

    zingers and pastrami club

  16. donatella says...

    • jenna says...

  18. frank w says...

    Zingers

    • Johnny Ray says...

I’m with you, Zinger’s is definitely the top deli in the area.

  19. GG374 says...

    Jeff
    My favorites
    Zingers
    Pomperdale
    Pastrami club

  20. Ben says...

Pomperdale is the best of them all. Ben’s has gone downhill and I don’t feel pastrami club should even be in the same sentence.

  21. DSP21 says...

  25. Gregg L. Friedman MD says...

It is said to say but the younger generation does not appreciate the great old time New York Style Deli food. They are fewer Deli’s each year. By Gregg L. Friedman MD, Psychiatrist, Hallandale Beach, FL

    • robertw says...

Gregg- I posted and then read your post. Well stated. And non jews are really not into the deli thing. It is not hip enough. If somebody could satisfy the hardcore deli people and those who have no clue they could make some major $$$.

  26. Frank W says...

I’m not Jewish and I love good deli as do most of my also non-Jewish friends.
