***** BET THE JOCKEY *****

Got- what could be a very interesting stock play…Function (X) Inc. (NASDQ:FNCX:$3.01)…then again, it may not be, so before you do “anything” do your own DUE DILIGENCE.

FNCX is a “play” on this whole social-media business. I know that sounds kinda nebulous, but I still use a rotary phone.

FNCX was “cobbled” together about a year ago from a shell-corporation by a guy named Robert F.X. Sillerman who “use to own” American Idol. For our purposes, Sillerman is THE JOCKEY.

Now if this kinda stuff interests you, do some heavy duty GOOGLING as well as check www.functioninc.com and see what you come-up with on Sillerman and Function (X).

Based on THE JOCKEY and the team of jockeys that Sillerman has assembled–JEFF EATS thinks that something huge maybe in the works here.

    Jeff,
ive looked at this stock a few times but never pulled the trigger. no question sillerman is a player in the media industry. if i recall correctly he actually conrtols almost all of the stock here. no question he has added heavyweights to his tv rewards co. as a matter of fact today he announced new hires of some real impressive people based on their resumes. he also announced a renaming of the co. and a reverse 1-2 stock split.
right now the mkt is giving a co. with virtualy no revenues a $500,000,000 value.
what you are doing is betting that the JOCKEY knows how to ride this horse. you are betting solely on Sillerman’s track record.
in the current weak mkt i’ll pass on stocks like this. too many real companies out there selling for what looks like cheap prices.
i do appreciate your thought process, but this one doesnt work for me.
by the way sillerman is something like 65, not real old but old enough to make me worry if i owned stock as to what happens to the co. if he just drops dead.
thanks again for the interesting conversation.

    MKY

tons of seemingly heavyweights joining the co. but it really has no buisness right now and a capitalization of about 1/2 billion. not sure as to what’s going on here so i say pass on the stock.

  5. AR says...

read in the nyt that the jockey sillerman is also putting together a new company for the djs that are playing huge venues all over the world.
this guy got his finger in all different pies.

  6. dontbuy says...

sillerman actually flopped with american idol. look at the stocks history.
his cexe amusement park stock is 8 cents and he’s way under water there.
this fncx is another stock thats got folks so far holding the bag.
seriously doubt that his new dj consolidation business will be anything but a flop.
for sure the guy is loaded but his recent track record sucks.

  7. SJA says...

    Jeff
    The jockey is almost 65.
He had the radio hit years ago. Since then he’s been failing big time.
He lost a fortune in real estate.
American idol not too good when he sold it.
    Vegas Elvis hotel a bust.
Ferris wheel in Orlando a bomb.
    Fncx nothing but big talk.
Now he’s buying djs. Bet that one busts out also.
Time for your jockey to go to the glue factory.

  8. Dd says...

Your jockey years ago had one winner.
He hasn’t been on a winner in years.
Forget him he is a washed up player.

  9. StockPlayer says...

Jeff, your jockey is only in deals for himself. is public companies dont work out for the public. i’ll pass.

  10. xds says...

i think i’d pass on sillerman’s latest venture. he last few have been huge losers.
