You missed a few in Miami:

    Slice N Ice
    Gino’s
    Piccolo Italia
    Primo’s Pizza

  2. John N. (Boca Raton) Says (June 30th, 2009):

Nice list. Frequent reader here so I know that you also like many others as well.

I am familar with a number of the places you listed. Don’t know all of them but know that the pizza at Nino’s and Brooklyn Boys in Boca are great.

  3. RR Pompano Beach Says (June 30th, 2009):

Jeff, Times Square in Ft Lauderdale best slice.
Heard quite a bit about Primanti going to try this week. The Umberto’s that you have #11 is that the same as the one next to Pomperdale Deli? That one also has excellent pizza.

  4. Michael in Coconut Creek Says (June 30th, 2009):

Good job on the list. I am familiar with most of those places, but there is a new pizzeria in Coconut Creek that I think is the best of them all. Amici’s Pizzeria Cafe. It’s on Hillsboro Blvd. just west of Lyons Rd. I found out about it about six months ago, and can’t get enought of it. Be sure to check it out. In addition to great pizza, they have a great selection of specialty pizzas and awesome homemade pannini’s.(www.amicispizzacafe.com)

  5. Kevin R. (Boca Raton) Says (July 1st, 2009):

Don’t know all of the list. I agree that Nino’s and Brooklyn Boys make a terrific slice.

  6. The Chowfather Says (July 1st, 2009):

Jeff, any opinion on Mauro’s or Jo-Jo’s in Hollywood?

  7. JeffEats Says (July 1st, 2009):

The Chowfather: Just had a chance to read your post. Sorry, not familar with Mauro’s or Jo-Jo’s.

    Thanks for reading…

  8. Mark Says (July 2nd, 2009):

Now i have proof that everyones idea of good pizza is differnt and perhaps its because i am not from New York. I went to Ralph and Rosies for a slice a while back and thought the pizza fair at best.

  9. james s. Says (July 2nd, 2009):

times square has tremendous pizza. highly recomend that everyone try it. it really is that good.

As I am sure you have seen from our reviews on http://www.worstpizza.com, that we do not necessarily agree with Brooklyn Boys still being on the list. Ever since Tony left, it isn’t the same. Amazingly we have never been to Ralph & Roses but will try it out and let you know what we think.

Mario the Baker as you can see from our review, does not deserve to be considered one of the best Jeff. I mean come one, first Giovanni’s in your coal fired list and now them? tsk tsk

The other night was getting ices at Mootz’s. Stella’s is right next door. Took a large plain pizza home and it was outstanding.

  14. jimmy f. Says (July 6th, 2009):

hey lapp http://www.worstpizza.com, enjoy your blog but you got too many people reporting. cant tell one reporter from another. the beautiful thing about jeff eats is that jeff’s the only man calling the shots plus unlike you he doesnt take ads so we know everything is unbiased. now onto your comments, brooklyn boys is top shelf was just there two days ago. by the way nobody really cares that you take your kid and feed him at different pizza places. your kid probably thinks that papa johns is real pizza.

  15. mk Says (July 6th, 2009):

Been in Florida for over 35 years. Use to live down south until Andrew blew our house away now we live in Boynton Beach. Use to visit Franki’es at least once a week before Andrew. People don’t know great pizza unless they have eaten a pie from this takeout. The menu is pizza and garlic rolls. Nothing else. It has been around for over 50 years. There is always a line. Pizza and rolls. Do you people have any idea how limited that menu is, yet the store is famous. Get to this place for outrageous pizza nd rolls.

  16. lapp Says (July 14th, 2009):

    @jimmy f

We do not allow ads from pizza places, so try to actually look at the site next time you are there. All reviewers have equally agreed on certain places, therefore I allow them to send in reviews. And yes, my kid actually likes papa johns. Nothing I can do about that though.

  17. danny f Says (July 18th, 2009):

ate a sausage pizza at primanti bros. pizza was delicious but sausage was too spicey.

  18. gr Says (July 20th, 2009):

your blog got me to frankie’s.
    phenomenal pizza.

  19. jh Says (July 28th, 2009):

    Tried Frankie’s excellent pizza.

  20. fd Says (July 30th, 2009):

love #5 steve’s. best pizza i have eaten.

  21. AF Says (July 31st, 2009):

Use to live in S. Miami before Hurricane Andrew. Moved north to Boca after our house was destroyed. Use to get pizza at Frankies back then at least once a week. Hadnt been down there since Andrew but was was down in Miami yesterday and picked up a pie at Frankies. Ate 1/2 in the car and the rest when I got home. Still great pizza.
By the way Nino’s has real good pizza but it is totaly different than Frankies. Frankies is more like a sicilian pie.

  22. Art J. Says (August 3rd, 2009):

Transplanted New Yorkers here (21 years). Not familar with many of the pizza places you listed. I will say that Steve’s in Miami makes one of the best slices that I have eaten. It is real NY pizza. I’m going to give some of your picks a try, but you are right on with Steve’s as one of the best.

  23. Carmine in Boca Says (September 3rd, 2009):

If any of you live in North Broward or South Palm Beach county, you should check out my new favorite pizza joint. Amici’s Pizzeria is on Hillsboro and Lyons. It’s the best combination of pizza and italian food i’ve had since i left N.Y. The sauce is out of this world!

    Ciao

  24. rk Says (September 6th, 2009):

jeff, i usually eat in the Nino’s in Boca where the food is great and the piiza is outstanding. tonite i did the nino’s in delray bach and the pizza was full or orageno, not too good. i’ll stic with boca store from now on. by the way, different owners.

  25. SS Says (October 8th, 2009):

Something is very wrong here. I have been a big fan of the Nino’s in Boca for over 20 years. The food is great. Awhile back the partners broke up and one kept the Boca store and the other got the Delray Beach store on Lake Ida Rd. I still eat at the Boca store and the food is as good as ever. Best pizza going. Every so often I eat at the Delray store and the last two outings the last one being last night the food stunk. How can this be? Just don’t get it. So I’m sticking with the Boca store and the heck with the other one.

  26. mitch Says (November 26th, 2009):

You forgot the best pizza in the whole area. It is located right in Davie on Davie Road, about a mile and a half south of I595. It is called Dellaventura’s Pizza. Joe Dellaventura was from Brooklyn where the best authentic recipes come from. Joe sold the restaurant a few years back but Ty and his team have kept the recipe intact and trust me, it is worth the trip….and don’t forget to try a slice of Sicilian pizza if you like the thick crust as it is so delicious as well. I love many of the places you guys mention, but give Dellaventura’s a shot one day and it will put a smile on your face and a nice, full stomach!

  27. Larry D. Says (February 11th, 2010):

    Right on!
    Frankie’s is awesome.
One of the best pizzas that I ever eaten.
Don’t get into Miami too often but I now have a reason.

  28. JJ Says (February 19th, 2010):

    #17 is now called Stella’s.
had the $19 special last night large pizza with one topping and 12 wings takeout.
wings were fair. pizza with pepporoni was fair.
i have taken pizza from this restaurant before and it was always good. last night it was just fair. going to figure that this is a one time thing and give it another chance. but pizza wasn’t as good as it use to be.

  29. Ehud Avni Says (February 25th, 2010):

Ralph & Rosie’s? You’ve got to be kidding. Their pizza is like the $5 special, putting the minimum amount of ingredients on it. There are at least 4 other places with better pizza in Boynton. The best pizza in Boynton Beach is Josie’s, a short walk across the street from R&R.

  30. cc Says (March 6th, 2010):

tried steve’s. great slice, couldn’t want better.
