Rosinella Italian Trattoria (Miami Beach & Miami)

Posted on June 19th, 2009 · Italian Miami Miami Beach Pizza

*****  Rosinella Italian Trattoria, 525 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, Florida 33139 (305) 672-8777…&…1040 South Miami Avenue, Miami, Florida 33130 (305) 372-5756.

A few days ago, I gave Rosinella Italian Trattoria a shot…there are 2 of these joints, I ate in the one located on Lincoln Road. You can check Rosinella’s website at www.rosinella.net for menu/prices/photos/other stuff.

Personally, I find most of the joints in the “Lincoln Road” area to be over-priced and not very good…wanna-bes and tourists help fuel the fire. By the way, if you are one of those wanna-bes or tourists, no offense intended…but you guys are letting tons of “South Beach” joints get away with murder.

Anyway…Rosinella is a terrific joint for lunch or dinner. This casual Italian joint is “un-pretentious” and serves some excellent appetizers, salads, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches and meat-chicken-seafood entrees…all at very reasonable prices. Throw in the fact, that you can watch wanna-bes and tourists while you eat…and Rosinella is my kind of joint.

I recently did lasagna di carne (veal & beef), gnocchi bolognese, chicken parmigiana, chicken marsala and seared tuna… real good stuff.

So, you now know about a real good Italian joint that is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.

jeff, how come when you do a review you never talk about sauces and ingredients like other food critics? how come most of the time you also say things are great or lousy without singling out one dish being better than others and vice versa?
really enjoy your reviews. you are like the everyman.
    just curious.

klh: Just had a chance to read your post.

Jeff Eats doesn’t want to be like the reviewers in the Sun Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, Miami Herald. Let them talk about sauces and ingredients and other such stuff.

Jeff Eats want to be as you say an “everyman” reviewer. I know when something tastes good and I know when something tastes like crap. I really don’t care how they make it…I just care that they make it right so that it tastes good.

For sure, when I review a joint, some dishes are better than others. It is quite possible to have 4 good ones and 1 lousy one. If something is really bad, I let you guys know. When I give a joint the “greenlight” I am looking at the whole picture. Like in the last review, I thought that the chicken marsala was better than the chicken parm…but in the whole-scope of things, either dish was just fine.

Jeff Eats is trying to tip you guys off to joints where you can have a decent enough meal for a fair price.

    Thanks for reading…

  3. I went to Miami last year and it was great. I can recommend it to everybody.
